Watson Bull & Porter Omdömen 

In response to Stephen McQuaid's negative review of this company, I'd like to set the record straight.
I marketed the property through WB&P Ryde.
I was living at the property and can confirm that I was the 50% shared owner, the other 50% being owned by IoW council.
Mr McQuaid claims that land registry details show that the property was 100% freehold,and that I was the tenant, don't know where he dreamt up this information, but it is 100% incorrect.
Might I suggest that the reason for Mr McQuaid's review is that on his viewing he was an extremely obnoxious and rude individual and that I instructed the agents that I wanted no further dealings with him.
I have since sold my share of the property and can categorically state that I had no issues with WB&P whatsoever.
Maybe people should note that Mr Mcquade only leaves negative reviews, and it would appear that he does this when he can't get his own way.

Sean showed us around a property in Perowne way, he was very informative, and easy to get along with, a generally nice guy, answered any questions we asked and described everything very well and went out of his way to help us with an internet company, which I thought was good of him as it was not pert of his job. All the staff at Watson Bull& Porter are nice as we mat with most of them when we went over the second time to see them.

Estate Agent (Sean) - Great communication leading up to the viewing and refreshing to have someone who knew so much about the property, instead of the "I'll have to ask the owners"

Sean was very helpful in all aspects of my house search, and provided an excellent service.

Great helpful staff esp. Clara & Joseph. Helped me through the process successfully and were professional through out. They were always there to answer silly questions and give advice. If they weren't available when I rang, they rang back as soon as they could, unlike the previous letting agents I used. Would recommend them.

They are below 1 star. They breached Data Privacy and put my property at risk. When I entered a formal complaint, Rosie Treadwell acknowledged and said it wouldn't happen again. In less than 10 hours they put my property at risk again by Data Breach! I hold Watson Bull and Porter accountable if anything happens!

AVOID

A very informed, professional and friendly meeting with Jamie Reeves. Who gave me lots of detailed accurate and impressive info.
Unfortunately I was unable to proceed as I didnt realise I am already tied to another sole Estate Agent for the time being frustratingly ! However if I dont get a result from the other Estate Agent by end of contract, then I will definately be going with Jamie and Watson, Bull and Porter. A really professional, informative and lovely guy.

Viewed a property at St. Lawrence with Sean from the Ryde office. We were allowed as much time as we needed to see all of the property and grounds. Sean was knowledgeable about the property with a good sense of humour.

Since they took over from a previous estate agents they have been lovely, very friendly. My yearly inspections are always warm and welcoming especially my latest one today with Jacob he was so lovely and helpful, very thorough and listened to me. He is a great and very professional member of staff.

“Viewed 24 Tandy Close. Advertised falsely as Isle of Wight Council Shared Ownership — Land Registry proves it is 100% private ownership. They took instructions from tenants, not the owners. Massively overpriced and misleading. Total lack of compliance and honesty. Reported to Trading Standards and The Property Ombudsman. Do not trust what they write in their adverts — check everything yourself.”

1 star is my lowest option.

Jacob recently came over to my flat to do the usual fire alarm checks and he was very professional and a very nice man.

I moved into my flat and the whole experience with Jacob and Jake was very very good. I was given reassurance by both of them throughout my application, Jacob was particularly helpful, his reassurance and kindness second to none. I can confidently say that the team were fantastic and I thoroughly recommend them!

From the time I walked in to Watson Bull & Porter in Newport, staff were very friendly.
A viewing was made from Newport with Sean Todd in the Ryde office who were dealing with said property.
Although in the end I decided not to offer on the property, there was always an input to try and find something that suited my needs without being pushy.
If my purchase doesn’t work out then I would certainly go back.

Very disappointed with the service and the lack of communication and interest.
From the onset of the purchase to completion, it was like treading in treacle. We were on the mainland and wanted to relocate to the island. Unfortunately the bungalow we wanted to buy was being sold by W B & P in Newport. Whenever we had a question to ask Lee the manager, we couldn't bypass the person answering the phone as Lee was too busy to talk to us or it went straight to voicemail. Email was never replied promptly.
On completion day, it was just a brief phone call to tell us where to find the key. No other form of communication from any member of staff to welcome us to the island. To add salt to injury, I received an email today asking me whether I wanted to rent my property through them. What an insult!!!!!!
I would never recommend this estate agent to anyone buying or selling.

Disappointed! I was shown 2 rental apartments and clearly stated I wanted flat #24. Not even 5 min after the viewing I was called to leave a holding deposit. I was reluctant and confirmed that it was for #24. Yes, he said it was. The next day I had to call them as they didn't follow up. I was told that #24 was not even in their portfolio! So they decided to change me to #22, which I didn't want. I will loose my deposit if I opt out now, so forced into a flat I do not want. Not happy.

Absouletly useless estate agent worst on the island rude on the phone that’s when you can get through dont push sales aren’t really that bothered definately Dosent put the customer first

Agents are more interested in selling other services than houses - so pushy and they make up lies to try and get you to use their brokers. So rude on the phone, and by E-mail, they don't pass offers to buyers which is illegal. Don't sell or buy a house from this company. Awful.
