I purchased a Viking gas cooktop (6 burners for about $4000) this Nov 2025 from PC Richards. After trying cooking for the very first time the one burner did not work. And all the burners stained black immediately after first use. The stains cannot be removed after using ALL the recommended products ! What’s worse is after reading reviews it appears that burner staining is a common issue with customers yet Viking refuses to accept accountability and provide better quality parts! I refuse to accept Vikings “warranty” to replace the broken burner which was not working upon purchase straight out the box and replaced all the stained burners. How can a company sell an almost $4000 product and expect you to live with a stained ugly piece of junk that doesn’t work. Also how can they offer to repair a product that was purchased broken??? They need to return and take their broken product back so I can use my hard earned money on a good quality product. I refuse to be dooped by this company - they are literally robbing hard working customers into buying what they know if a bad quality product and offering repairs instead of integrity and accountability for their bad products. This company needs to be investigated for fraud and decept! Hiding behind words on a warranty is egregious and unacceptable when they absolutely know they have a terrible product on the market. I am writing this because I want people to know the truth before purchasing Viking. I am waiting for them to take their product back and resolve my issue in a more appropriate manner - I cannot accept that I bought a broken product and they simply offer to repair the broken product they sold me!

Very attractive frig exterior, but complete junk from Day 1

I'm apparently one in a long line of individuals who was tricked into believing that a high-priced Viking refrigerator would be better than others. The unit arrived at my home completely unable to cool... from the first day! The parent company, "Middleby Corporation," showed no concern for their reputation. We were forced by them to endure multiple service calls before we finally got the Washington State Attorney General's office to step in and force the seller, Best Buy, to exchange the Viking for a different brand.

Two factory defects and zero customer service

I purchased a Viking refrigerator from Best Buy, and it’s still under warranty. It’s been months since I reported the issue, and Viking has done nothing to fix it. Customer service is practically nonexistent—no follow-up, no accountability. For a high-end brand, this is completely unacceptable.

Brand New Viking Oven Never Worked – Still No Resolution

I purchased a Viking wall oven expecting high quality and reliability, but my experience has been nothing but frustrating. From day one, the oven has never worked properly, displaying a persistent F8 error message.

I have already had two service visits, yet the issue remains unresolved. Instead of a functioning oven, I’m left with a brand-new appliance that doesn’t work. Viking promotes itself as a premium brand, but the lack of a real solution has been extremely disappointing.

At this point, I am requesting a full replacement instead of another failed repair attempt. I have reached out to Viking’s customer service, and I hope they will do the right thing. If I had known I would be dealing with this level of inconvenience, I would have chosen a different brand.

I would appreciate immediate action from Viking to resolve this properly.

STAY AWAY FROM VIKING APPLIANCES

BUYER BEWARE. Do NOT get fooled by the Viking name. These appliances are complete trash and you will spend tens of thousands of dollars for cheap equipment that is inconsistent and unreliable. Do yourself a favor and just buy the mid-range Kitchenaid/Kenmore/LG stuff from Lowes. You will be better off.

On January 31, 2024 I purchased a brand new full suite of Viking appliances:
- French door Double Oven
- Dishwasher
- Refrigerator
- Induction Range top
- Drawer microwave

The entire suite cost just under $31,000 from Appliances Connection, which went out of business the week after I purchased my items.

In the year that I have had these appliances, I have had to call for service and repair more times than I've ever had to call for repairs for ALL of my appliances ever throughout my life.

Double Oven
The oven temperature gauge is faulty
The over temperature fluctuates wildly between 20 and 60 degrees either undercooking or overcooking the food - I can't tell you how many meals that got burned to a crisp while the temp gauge was set to 350
There is NO digital temp readout on the oven
There is NO way to tell what temp your oven is actually at unless you buy an aftermarket oven probe

Dishwasher
It stopped cleaning dishes about 9 months into ownership
Service came our multiple times and said it user error in how I was filling the dishwasher and blamed a clogged filter
The problem remained and got worse until eventually the unit threw an error code
After four service visits they finally agreed to order parts to fix it
The parts have been on indefinite backorder
I have been without a functional dishwasher for two months - (below are pictures of what my dishes look like AFTER I run a full heavy duty high gloss extra clean cycle).

Microwave
Finicky and delicate - it stopped working for no discernable reason a few weeks in, and the tech had to come out to reset it

Refrigerator/Freezer
The freezer ice maker arm was broken when we got it and a tech came out to fix it within the first months; it still breaks periodically but we've had to learn how to fix it ourselves
Then the freezer later just stopped working and had to be rebuilt around month six

Viking is a total scam. The materials are flimsy, there are plastic connection points everywhere, nothing works are advertised or expected and to make all these matters worse, customer service is ABHORRENT. It's almost as if they know we've all been scammed and they're just part of the theater of fleecing their customers.

I would do anything to get rid of these appliances and just buy a normal residential suite from a big box store.

Almost 14 years ago we purchased Viking…

Almost 14 years ago we purchased Viking appliances double oven, stovetop, hood, dishwasher. Stovetop was replaced once by Viking due to errors on Vikings end. The second stovetop is beautiful but the knobs are extremely delicate - I am short so if I lean in and move the burners always turn on. Oven - I gave up calling Viking - it was also replaced the bottoms of the oven peel and are flaky. We do not use the convection, it turns the oven fan on and flakes of paint land on the food. It was replaced once because of the chipping and peeling. Even after repairs to oven chip board on the oven - when on bake on its own switches to convection. Hood fan is extremely loud, easy to clean it but too loud - I gave up will NEVER purchase Viking again. Dishwasher is good - bottom cover keeps falling every time I sweep. They’ve lasted but with problems.

Great built in grill but has two exposed wire causing fire!

We bought an outdoor built in grill model VQGI5361 in May'2022 and received the same in July'22 and got it installed mid-August' 2022. On July 4th 2023 the grill caused a 'Thermal event' aka fire, as two wires running on the left side of the grill were exposed and not encased in the grill case. Fortunately, on that night we put out the 'Thermal event’ in time else our home would have caught fire and may be the entire neighborhood too, as there are lot of tall dry mature trees in my neighborhood. When I reached Viking support, I was told that the installation requires a case around the grill. When ordering the grill the case never came up in the accessories to be ordered. . Please help Viking fix its grill model VQGI5361 and have two exposed wires encased in the grill body. This way in the future such 'Thermal event' can be avoided by all consumers buying the Viking build in grill in California and all across USA. Moreover, these Viking grills are known for quality that is why we bought the grill for almost $9 k, and if the 2 wires to be encased in the grill case would have raised the cost, we would have still gone with Viking.

No, No, No to Viking

I'm a luxury home builder in Arizona and installed Viking appliances in my home 13 years ago. They have been nothing but problems since day one. I have finally reached my limit which has motivated me to write this message. I've ended up living with some things that don't work properly but with such an expensive line of products this should not be acceptable. My most recent problem is the built in refrigerator is frosting up in the back and I'm being told the evaporator is bad and will cost $1500 to replace. Viking is saying the part is a year out of warranty and not offering any help. I have had enough and removing all the appliances and replacing them with another brand. I will never use Viking appliances in any home from here on out. After installing just about every brand out there in the homes I've built, I would recommend to anyone looking for new appliances to consider any brand other then Viking. I hope this helps in your decision process.

NEVER AGAIN!

We inherited a complete Viking kitchen when we purchased a house built in 2004. EVERY SINGLE Viking item (Commercial grade side-by-side refrigerator, Range, Oven, Hood, Wine Refrigerator, Dishwasher, and Microwave) has either failed or had an issue requiring an EXPENSIVE repairs. In just 10 years the refrigerator rusted a hole through the back, causing water to leak out from underneath the unit on a nearly daily basis. We simply replaced the refrigerator, dishwasher, and microwave since they were beyond salvaging for family usage. We are still stuck with the Range, and it has an issue where the autopilot won't ignite the gas on at least two of the burners, requiring nearly 30 seconds at times before the gas ignites (and we get a frightening show, mind you...). Any reader should be aware that Viking positioned itself in the high-end, luxury, commercial-grade kitchen appliance niche with these extremely expensive units. Their sturdy good looks suggest durability and usability. However, our experience, was clearly the opposite. I had appliances in college that were far superior in performance and reliability. I know Viking is aware of the Range ignition problem because there was something like unto a recall on some units similar to, but outside, of our actual Range. Great. I've "heard" that the abysmal quality was related to some change in management, and that it is all different now, that Viking is once again a tremendous quality appliance. WE will NEVER KNOW, because I'd have to think LONG and HARD IF Viking chose to PAY ME to have Viking appliances again. I doubt I'd agree. I hope for the sake of their employees that they aren't pumping out those fraudulent excuses for kitchen appliances anymore!
