Dr. Taghipour at the Shirlington, VA office did the venaseal procedure for me in late April, and it went terribly wrong. As a result, I now have a DVT (blood clot), as well as nerve and muscle damage. The entire office is rude, and cold, but most upsetting is how dismissive Dr. Taghipour was about my blood clot. He did not put me on a blood thinner, despite my medical history of having had a previous clot. I had to follow up with my primary care for treatment and care. When I first called to schedule an appointment to notify the doctor of my severe pain, I was read a script by the customer service rep. It wasn't until I called back and told them I was having post procedure problems that they reacted. Now, I am also receiving emails about a lapse in insurance coverage. When I called the billing department to get answers, they kept dropping my call. Every encounter with USA Vein Clinics has been a total disappointment, frustration, and nightmare. I have had to have my veins treated in the past, and I had a much better experience at Vein Clinics of America with Dr. Woo in Fairfax, but unfortunately he is no longer around. Stay away from Dr.Taghipour and USA Vein Clinics.

The billing department is a nightmare! I was quoted under $2k and they've billed over $55,000! Of course your insurance company will deny these claims and you'll have a heart attack when papers come in the mail. The bills are unorganized and look fake, the customer service representatives are not helpful or friendly.

I had an appointment with Dr. Shiloh who has good reviews. However, I was concerned about the numerous reviews regarding billing practices. I went to my 4:00 pm appt today. The billing clerk wanted me to sign a statement that said my co-pay was $30.00 higher than it is. No one could explain how they arrived at their stated co-pay when my insurance card said otherwise. I told the young lady that I could not agree-she didn’t know what to say other than to point the finger at the billing dept. She couldn’t resolve it so I told her I had no choice to leave. That’s too bad as i was looking forward to seeing Dr. Shiloh. But now, this experience confirms my initial concerns. Very very disappointed and now I have to find a new doctor for my condition.

I had been a patient of Vein Clinics of America for 5 years, after 2 more years needed some veins checked so when I call find out they are no longer Vein Clinics but USA Vein Clinics. So I make appt. This place is a scam! I paid my initial copay, then I paid for the visit after insurance paid, which they call at my home for and on a holiday. Then I go back to the office for checkup & told I owe more money but no one can show me a statement of all treatments, insurance charges and what I had paid. Now they keep calling me telling me I owe more money and I can still not make them understand I WANT A DETAILED STATEMENT BEFORE I PAY ANOTHER DIME! They finally send me a email statement & it is only 1/2 the statement, things off the side cannot be read and doesn't show any insurance or personal payments. And to make it much worse they have no phones in the office to call the departments for help or explanation they have to make calls through a tablet? What kind of messed up crap is this!! I won't be going back though the doctor was very nice.

I went to the Barrington location in IL. I used to go there and had in 2019- but THIS time the place had a completely new staff. Everyone had accents except for one employee. The ultrasound tech must have “missed” the only vein that stood out and after the injections June 4th on two areas of my RT leg the DR billed Medicare $20,000. Yes. That is accurate. I still have the varicose vein and they are mining Medicare and my secondary insurance for money, money, money. The Dr also described me as a patient with “poor decision making capabilities” on the form (for 20K claim) to Medicare. Who makes poor decisions actually? My copay was now over 500$ Medicare reported. I filed a complaint. It appears to be a money mining operation employing immigrants-and I wonder if they knew they are working for such an organization. It’s appalling in every direction. I requested an itemized bill which they are required to send me within 30 days. I’m waiting. * Aug 20/2024 The office in Barrington returned my request for itemized bill Unopened a few days ago.

Run from this "company" they are scammers and book false appointments, then file insurance and extort copay. No one knows or can do anything there. They also refuse to release medical records.

this company has just been sold. as a result of this action the new company has doubled prices and you cannot contact your office any longer rather are placed into a call center. I had been a long time patient and now must find a new doctor.

The staff was great, but after a year I have more veins than I've ever had before. I put out alot of money and it took several months before my legs looked good then not even a whole year and I have more veins than when I started and all the ones that they injected are all back too. This is not permanent and that's what I thought I was paying for.

I've played soccer all my life 3 to 5 times a week and I have beaten up my legs. My sister and my mom have nasty vericose veins and yup, I inherited them. I used a service in La Jolla that stripped my veins like spaghetti which was a short term fix. I then used a company in Escondido off of Felicita that did a completely opposite treatment. Their procedure did nothing and their customer service was awful.

Boom! Dr. Koo and her staff to the rescue. This time I did additional, over-the-top research and took a chance with Dr. Koo. I went in for my free evaluation and estimate. They wouldn't touch me with a 10 foot pole until they were guaranteed insurance coverage which was perfect. There's nothing worse then getting stuck with some ridiculous insurance bill.

The procedures were quick, painless and it became a relationship. Yainee was always easy going in the office, she was very flexible with appointments and very helpful. I would get there at 645am for my 7am appt. and she would graciously let me in early. To top it off, I was always seen before my appoimtment, no waiting, giggity!

Melissa did the ultrasound and I discovered she was my long lost sister.....not really but she always made me feel comfortable and we would always talk about anything and everything. She was 100% kickass. She did her job perfectly, communicated thoroughly and always had me talking.

Dr. Koo would come on in to do her thing and explained the procedure very, very thoroughly. She was repetitive but in a good way because we all know people don't remember everything they are told. She always talked to me about every single step she did as she performed it.

Wa-lah, they nuked me numerous times and I feel better than I have in years. My legs look great and the all the procedures were flawless. Wearing compression socks became a fashion state for me, lol, because I was faithful with wearing them everyday.

They never treated me differently even after my procedures were done and I did some follow ups. It was always good to see them when I came in. There's a reason they have a 5 star rating, they are on top of their game, all of them. Trish worked on me only 1 time but she was very kind, respectful and just like Melissa, had a seemless abiltity to chat and make you feel comfortable.

You're crazy, like super crazy if you pass up this professional people. I highly recommend them, even to my worse enemy.

Staff is wonderful, but they are forced to overbook appointments by the owner. My appt for a procedure was at noon. I wasn't seen until 1:15 after waiting in a cold room half dressed for 45 minutes. Staff indicated they get a lot of the same complaints, but they are forced to overbook appointments by the owner.

Have been mostly happy with the treatment until now. I technically completed treatment in both legs in October, was to go on for six month follow up on March 2023, received a notice that the doctor that treated me is no longer there and I needed to reschedule. I just called to reschedule and was informed they are only at this location Tuesday-Thursday! I am off on Mondays and Fridays! I will take a day off work and reschedule the follow-up, but I’ll be taking my records and moving treatment elsewhere if additional services are needed. Lesson I guess is to be careful of a chain type practice, things are likely to change quickly, more staff turn-over and they may not fit your needs down the line.

My second review. VCA has essentially accepted and stolen my insurance money & money out-of-pocket. Scans we're performed prior to treatments & they collected the money from my insurance. But treatment following insurance approved treatments have been cancelled in Flower Mound, TX and Southlake, TX. I paid out of pocket for sessions that I cannot schedule because I have not had the proper follow up from my ablation - I have not had proper follow up because they keep canceling every appointment since September 30, 2022! I have requested a refund but cannot get anyone to call me back. Since new management back in August, it has been a nightmare. I've filed now three complaints with the BBB and nobody has responded. Ironically now that we are about to start a new year, the insurance money that has been paid (over $5400) would all need to start over on the new year if I was dumb enough to return. Not to mention the $600 I have paid out-of-pocket. The Regional Manager, Julie, will not return a phone call or help. If you can get ahold of her at 847-707-7851let me know! This is entirely unethical & fraud.

Very unhappy. Went for a third treatment which I previously paid for and they wanted payment again. I already prepaid. Office had no staff, a “doctor “ re- took all my information again. Company was supposedly bought by another.
Very shady even though my previous doctor was present. I left- no more treatment, my phone calls to book an appointment were questionable as well. I overheard the “doctor” stating she was not sure which rooms were clean.

I have been trying since September to get in to see a doctor at this clinic. The appointment in September was cancelled with only one hour notice and the second one for October was cancelled the day ahead. Now they want to move me to the end of November. Their website does not actually let you fill out new patient paperwork and no one can help you when you call. So I have decided it must be a sign to go somewhere else. What a disappointment!

Cada ves que iba pirque estaba hinchada mis venas me ponian inyecciones, no resolvian nada, hoy tengo acumulada sangre rn una de mis venas y los llame para q hagan algo y es la segunda ves que cancelan mi appointment , no me quieren atender. Cuanto me arrepiento de haber ido alla Sasco Hill Rd. Siempre tienen excusa para no verme.

This place is a poorly run franchise with no one to take responsibility or deal with problems. I started a vein series that required 2 appointments. I was told that they needed to be 2-3 weeks apart to be successful. I did the first appt and paid a lot of money out of pocket. They cancelled the second appt on me because they didn't have a nurse at any of the 5 closest locations to me. I asked to speak to an office manager and the branch told me that they don't currently have one. The call center who does the scheduling told me that I should probably go to any company to finish my services. I paid for my first service and it was a complete waste of money!!!

Never EVER get treated by them. I am helping my mother who is in medicare with her billing issues. I has been a total nightmare

If you need to talk to the doctor, It is absolutely horrible to try to contact the office directly. The doctor has no say on your billing or appointmet changes. You have to call the call center.
When you call, someone for a call center answers. Your are lucky if they have the correct answer. Not only that, but they charge whatever they want to your insurance. They charged my mother's insurance $20,000 for a procedure that should have been $900!!! ( I asked the doctor and he said it was wrong. I wish I could upload my bill. Granted, I only had to pay a $20 copay but what is horrible is that the insurance payed no questions asked!! This is why insurance rates go up for everyone. I wish I could infromed the insurance company of this.

The swelling and discomfort in my legs, as well as appearance, has been greatly improved by the treatments offered at Vein Clinics. The outpatient procedures were relatively quick with a pretty low amount of discomfort. I was able to continue regular activities and was only sore for a few days after each procedure. The staff is patient and friendly.

Dr Woo is a pro supported by great techs and Staff. Thank you.

I am a very nervous person when it comes to needles. Staff was wonderful in calming me down. I am much better when I do not know what is being done. Just do the job so I can leave.
