Underground Cellar Omdömen 

I’ve been ordering from Underground Cellar for about two years, usually once a month (sometimes more if an offer catches my eye). There isn’t much wine variety where I live, so it’s been a good way to try something beyond the selection at my local stores.

The wines have all been good, and I’ve had some amazing bottles in my orders along the way. One I really enjoyed was Caymus Special Selection Cabernet. I especially like being able to take a $50 or $100 bottle to a party knowing I paid a lot less for it.

I’ve gotten into the email games, too. They send out riddles and clues you can solve for store credit. I like figuring those out, especially when I’m already thinking about placing an order.

I’m still hoping to get one of the really expensive bottles someday, but I know it’s a long shot. In the meantime, I’ve been happy with the wine I’m getting and what I’m paying for it. That’s enough to keep me coming back.

Mea cupa! When I'm wrong, I admit it. I was very harsh in my early correspondences with UC. I felt that the system was 'rigged' and outside of a few scattered, very good wines, were orders filled with bottom sellers that were not worth the price.
But, I hung in there and wanted to give it a chance. And boy did they come through. And although I've been lucky enough to hit on some very expensive bottles, the overall quality for the money has been brilliant. I can honestly say that the last several orders have ranged from being pleased to incredibly pleased to just, "Wow! I can't believe I scored that!".
And, as my friend (honestly), Micky Dolenz, says, 'Now I'm a Believer'! Count me in for keeps! And oh, lesson learned, 'You get what you pay for, (but thanks to UC, you actually get more then you paid for)!'

I have been an Underground Cellar customer for quite a while and wanted to add my experience, particularly since I was a little surprised by some of the reviews here.
I have ordered from them many times and my experience has been consistently very good. I have discovered some great wines that I probably would not have tried otherwise, and I have received some pretty impressive upgrades along the way — although I am still waiting for one of those elusive top bottles!

I also understand that Underground Cellar is now under different ownership, and my experience with the current ownership has been very positive. My orders have arrived as expected, I have really enjoyed the wines, and anytime I have needed assistance, I have been treated very well.

I am still a happy customer and still look forward to seeing what shows up in my next order.

This company scammed / stole thousands of dollars of wine from me.

Then customer service stopped answering phone calls and emails one day, and the company just walked away with all of the wine they were storing for their customers.

Now they are trying to revive the company and won’t stop emailing me with marketing spam.

I purchased a six-bottle wine package after seeing an advertisement highlighting premium wine upgrades featuring Opus One. The advertisement gave me the impression that the possibility of receiving an Opus One upgrade was a meaningful part of the promotion. When my shipment arrived, there was no Opus One upgrade.

More importantly, after trying the wine, I was not satisfied with the quality and did not feel it represented the value advertised. The company’s website stated that they offer a “100% satisfaction guarantee” and that if a customer is not completely thrilled with a wine, they will make it right with a replacement or a full refund.

Based on that guarantee, I contacted customer service and requested a refund. My request was denied, despite the advertised satisfaction guarantee. I found this frustrating and inconsistent with the promises made on their website.

In my opinion, the advertising created expectations that were not met, and the company did not honor the satisfaction guarantee as I understood it. Prospective customers should carefully read all terms and conditions before purchasing.

Let me be very clear. This company stole money and scammed its customers. Now they are email blasting their old customers again in order to drum up business for the “new buyers” who bought the brand and thought it was a great idea to try and revitalize a company that stole from its customers.

No apology. No rebranding. Just “buy our wine again, please!” Emails. If I could give zero stars I would. I was stollen from by this company and a change of ownership with no apology or offer of reimbursement is laughable.

DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY GOOGLE THE COMPANY AND YOU WILL SEE HOW MANY PEOPLE WERE ROBBED FROM

UPDATE: The company has now tried to have this review removed claiming I meant to leave this review for “a different company”. They are not apologizing for what the brand did to its customers. They are just trying to cover it up and move on as if nothing happened. There is no coming back from what this company did to its customers without acknowledging and apologizing for what the company did. I’m sure they are now realizing that reaching back out to former customers on email blasts was a mistake. And I’m sure they know how many of us were scammed.

No top upgrade yet, but I’ve discovered some fantastic wines I wouldn’t have picked on my own. Every box feels like a treat. They even sent me a VERY nice replacement bottle for a wine they thought might be corked. It's been a fun way to buy and try new wines.
