We were sold a solar battery for our solar panels. We were promised the electric bill would disappear. We are now paying an electric bill and a monthly charge for the battery. Numerous emails and phone calls have been ignored. The battery stopped working 2 months ago and there is no resolution in sight. Maybe THIS review will get someone's attention.
Our experience with Top Tier Solar Solutions has been extremely frustrating and disappointing.
When we agreed to purchase our solar battery system, we made it clear that the approximately $400 monthly payment through Service Finance was not affordable for us. We were told that if we accepted the financing, Top Tier would refinance the loan in-house afterward to reduce the monthly payment. That representation was a major reason we agreed to move forward.
The battery was installed, but we then experienced problems with it not working properly, while the financing situation was never resolved as originally represented.
After weeks of trying to get help and filing complaints, we spoke with Top Tier's legal team on July 27. During that conversation, we were told that Top Tier would pay approximately $11,000 toward our roughly $22,000 Service Finance balance.
We genuinely believed this was finally over.
Based on that resolution, we closed the complaints we were able to close and even removed our previous BBB review. We expected to receive follow-up documentation and see the promised payment made toward the loan.
Unfortunately, we have not received the promised check, we have not seen the payment applied to the Service Finance account, and we have not received the follow-up we expected despite reaching out for updates.
We are now having to pursue complaints again.
This has been one of the most upsetting parts of the entire experience. We gave Top Tier another opportunity to make things right and acted in good faith because we believed the resolution presented to us would actually be carried out.
We strongly recommend that anyone considering Top Tier Solar Solutions get EVERY promise in writing, especially anything involving financing, refinancing, payments, discounts, or resolutions. Do not close complaints or consider an issue resolved based solely on a verbal promise. Wait until you can verify that the promised action has actually been completed.
We never wanted this situation to become this complicated. We simply wanted Top Tier to honor what was represented to us and follow through on the resolution later offered to us.
As of the time of this review, that still has not happened.
If you want a high pressure sales call with salesperson and their manager, then you want to talk to Top Tier Solar Solutions. The salesperson was great. She knew her stuff. However, when the sale wasn't going to close, she contacted her manager via phone. This manager wouldn't take "no" for answer which is great as that makes a good salesperson. This manager was rude and degraded us in our home when he couldn't close the sale. Where is his soft skills? I'm thinking he doesn't have any! I'm sure this manager feels like this was a bait and switch - BUT WHEN A POTENTIAL CUSTOMER SAYS "NO" MULTIPLE TIME, LET IT GO AND MOVE ON. So manager, here is some feedback for you, build rapport, use empathy, and back off when a sale isn't going to be closed. You will want to use the 10-3-1 rule, I'm guessing you know what this means. If not GOOGLE IT! Based on this experience, I will NEVER purchase anything from this company.
