Timberwise Omdömen

We used Timberwise for peace of mind to check timbers and potential damp around the chimney. Forrest Hamilton came out from the Edinburgh office and did a thorough inspection. He inspected the chimney / ceilings, went up the loft and inspected there taking photographs so my mum was able to see everything. From a ladder outside he was able to inspect flashings etc. then sat with mum and put her mind at ease, showing photos and explaining the moisture readings showed there was no cause for concern. In addition to this he advised on work that was needed by a roofer going forward. I was really impressed and grateful for his time and would have no hesitation on calling on Timberwise in the future.

Would not recommend this company. The surveyor told us one areas of damp was coming from outside but didn't know where from and didn't have any ladders to inspect or diagnose the issue. We are still no clearer on why we are getting damp. We paid upfront for this service and have been very disappointed and still don't have a report.

We are disappointed with the report given. We are still not aware of what the problem was. The report even stated that a full inspection wasn't done on the outside and roof. It is not the service or outcome we expected.

Forrest Hamilton from the Edinburgh Depot arrived at my house and gave an excellent survey and report as to how to deal with my loft condensation and mould problems in my house.

Agreed a time with the auditor to meet at the property as we wanted to hear the feedback there then. However, the auditor was inpatient to start earlier leading to misreporting. The surveying of the external building fabric was from the ground only. No use of a ladder or alternatives to view condition of the guttering and soffits. The quality of the report was disappointing and certainly not worth the £355. Area Oxford. Recommend you look elsewhere.

Great experience, professional and helpful company. Special mention to Donald the technician who treated my attic who was brilliant.

We are happy to recommend Timberwise for damp problems. The initial survey was thorough and well explained; the admin was efficient; the men appeared on time each day and protected the big furniture effectively; then cleared up after themselves. The technical side of the job seemed to done very professionally. We wait for a few weeks to check that all the damp has finally gone but it looks good two weeks in.
There may be cheaper firms, but we feel you get what you pay for with this team. Very satisfied by their attitude as well as the high standard of their work.

Had Timberwise north west out to survey damp around two chimney breasts. Graham Malpass was just brilliant - knew straight away what the issue was and what needed to be done.
Then sent a comprehensive survey and it was all free! Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him and the company. Top notch!

Excellent service from start to finish.
Matthew Hargrove completed a thorough survey, works completed speedily and the team tidied up at the end of each day. Highly recommend.

Matthew came out to survey our property after several other companies failed to stop the damp spreading.
I'm happy to report the damp has gone and we were very happy with the customer service from start to finish.

Great company to deal with. Surveyor Matthew was Professional, knowledgeable and reassuring. Quote was accurate and work completed within the tight timescale I needed which was a great relief

What a professional job they did for us very thing went like clock work from start to finish .
Mat Hargrove from Lincoln Branch was brilliant, he turned up on time for inspection of job told us what needed doing n how they would go about doing it , price was fantastic would highly recommend them

Scott H was fast, professional and very helpful. Would highly recommend.

Great service from start to finish. Initial quote compressive explained exactly what our property required. Job carried out efficiently and all left tidied up before they left. Highly recommended

It was worrying to learn that there were active wood-boring insects on my property. Timberwise's survey explained clearly and in detail what the findings were and what the treatment would involve. On the day, Norman, who carried out the job, proved extremely professional and pleasant. He took great care of my belongings and endeavoured to minimise disruption.

Excellent, objective, trustworthy and high quality damp survey by Gary Carty of Timberwise. Highly recommended.

I have zero respect and will never use a company that I am unable to contact. This company would not respond to any of my requests for a quote, so are now dead to me.

We had a dry rot issue. Surveyor knowledgeable and communicated well initially. However what started as a "£12k absolute maximum" turned in to a £30k total removal of our flooring. Paid for a hugely expensive inspection that they then realised was insufficient which led to a £2k increase midway for additional building work.

Hopefully the dry rot is solved/they honour their guarantee because this company nearly bankrupted me. The finish on the replastering they had to do was also poor.

Overall they do what they say they're going to do, but they're super pricey.

I have had some damp proofing done in both bedrooms last week and I can only say great things about Timberwise.
The technician was called James and honestly he was really caring and professional. All my belongings were covered. He was really really tidy and just a pleasure to have around. The works look absolutely brilliant and confirmed by a few of my friends who know about this kind of work. All of them said it looks like a stellar job . So thank you James for the excellent work

I’ve just witnessed something amazing .Gary Hart the Senior surveyor for Timberwise in Richmond SW15 6NP just came to assess my cellar, for which I had been previously quoted many thousands of pounds of work to prevent damp. He told me it was all dry, after checking with a very good professional damp meter, and all I needed was a humidifier or extractor fan to lower the humidity. There had previously been water ingress due to no drainpipes which has been sorted. The experience of meeting such an honest person was quite moving. I would throughly recommend his service, and I see from other reviews that the rest of the company is equally professional. A big thank you.
