The Workplace Depot Omdömen 

I ordered a driveway mirror it arrived quickly as promised, i had a small problem it was resolved equitably and very very quickly - an exceptionally good trading company will use again and again and recommend to others.

On the 7th February 2026, I ordered from Amazon 3 Heavy-Duty 5 Tier Plastic Shelving Units from a company called The Workplace Depot. They were expensive at £71.99 each, with free postage, so a total of £215.97 for all 3 units.

I originally wanted to buy 6 shelving units, but as these ones were quite expensive, I decided to only buy 3 just now and would buy another 3 when I could afford to buy them.

They were delivered on the 12th February 2026 and I have not opened them yet, as I need help to open and build them up, due to being a disabled pensioner.

On the 13th February 2026, a parcel was delivered to my home, containing a First Aid Kit for 10 people. There was no note inside the bag, saying who had sent it and why I had received it, as I had not ordered it.

I saw a small label on the Royal Mail postage label, that the company who sent the First Aid Kit, was The Workplace Depot.

I went on to their own website to see how I could contact them, to ask why they had sent the kit to me. I also wanted to have a look at all the other things that they sold. I was shocked to see that the same Heavy-Duty Shelving 5 Tier Plastic Shelving Unit was priced at £49, with free postage, as are all the items on sale on their website.

I contacted their customer services about why they sell the same shelving unit on Amazon at a marked up price of 49% more.

Below is a copy of what they said to me, in their email dated 12th February 2026.

“We completely understand your concerns, especially given the circumstances you have explained. Please allow me to clarify. Amazon operates as a separate marketplace and applies its own selling fees, commission charges, and fulfilment costs to products sold through its platform. These additional costs mean that prices listed on Amazon are often higher than those available directly on our own website.

While the shelving units are the same product, the pricing structure on Amazon differs from our direct website pricing due to these third-party fees. Unfortunately, we do not have control over the additional charges Amazon applies to orders placed through their platform.

We are very sorry that this was not clearer at the time of your purchase, and we completely understand how frustrating this must feel, particularly when you are budgeting carefully. Your feedback is important to us, and we truly appreciate you bringing this to our attention”.

They never mentioned that they had sent me a First Aid Kit, or why.

Under the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations, I believe that the Amazon listing constitutes a "misleading omission" by hiding the fact that the same seller offers a significantly better deal directly.

This company blamed Amazon for the inflated prices, due to Amazon fees that they add. Amazon say that it is the seller who sets the price on Amazon, so maybe both of them are breaking Consumer Regulations. A 49% mark up on Amazon, on their price on their own website is a disgrace.

Quick response, quick delivery when available and really helpful with product knowledge.

I ordered a step ladder and inadvertently put my old address for delivery(I’m getting on a bit).
I emailed the company and within minutes I had received a mail back stating that this had been sorted and to be assured that it would be delivered to my new address.
This was first class customer service treating me with respect and value that money just can’t buy.
I’m pleased to say the item did arrive at the correct address and the item I purchased was of the highest quality and the cheapest I could find it anywhere.

Colleague got some products exported recently, wish they shipped directly to us!

I bought a new step ladder ( LADDER-ALUMINIUM5 Lightweight Step Ladder (1500mm 5 Tread) for my job as a decorator, it was so noisy to go up and down it was unbearable for me and everyone I was working with. I would’ve happily replaced it with something a bit more sturdy but the response I got from my feedback was total disinterest .
The response after sending a video of the terrible squeaking was
“ Thank you for sending the video — this has been very helpful.

After reviewing it, we’re unable to identify any manufacturing faults. The noise heard is normal for this type of ladder”.
I wish I could post the video but don’t buy these ladders , they are very flimsy and make an awful noise with every step up or down.
Needless to say after my first experience of using The Workplace depot I won’t be using them again for any workplace needs.

Do not buy anything from this company. Read other reviews, this is not just me. They are unprofessional, incompetent at what they supposedly do and then massively aggressive when you contact them about an issue.
They sent an item of mine to the wrong address, insisting it was me who inputted the incorrect address. Bare in mind, the address inputted was full including post code etc of a place I have never been to or even heard of the area and they refuse to give me a refund, new item or even have their courier pick the item back up and re-send it or refund me.
An absolute terrible and intimidating company. STAY AWAY

I was ordering a set of lockers and the delivery address was not straightforward. So I emailed the sales support and Chrissy was great in simplifying my issues and organising my delivery and payment.

please do not use this company they take your money twice on there website and then try to deliver twice and then charge you a very high handling charge because of an error on there site

OMG... outstanding service! I ordered 2 garage storage racks and they were delivered 48hrs later... unbelievable service and the price was outstanding too for the quality. Avoid! Ordered a bike rail 2 weeks ago that needed to go in the ground last week for a job, no rail , no contact , I finally get though to them , and the rails been sent back nobody contacted me. They tried to resend it and everyday I get an email from fedex saying tried to deliver, I’m here working out the front no fedex came any day. Useless bastards. between this company and fedex I wouldn’t waste your time. Go to your local retailer or merchant.
