Used Fargro for the first time as they were listed on the Melcourt website as an online stockist of Melcourt Sylvagrow compost recommended as a good quality peat free compost. Received a 5% discount and got free delivery as ordered 4 bags. Ordered on 8/3 and delivered on 12/3 so delivery prompt. Pleased to find compost fresh stock: seed compost made on 10/2/26 and all purpose made on 5/11/25. Had a difficult year last year getting seeds to germinate and develop well. Hoping for better results this year having invested in good compost.

As you noticed with your seed compost being manufactured as recently as 10th February 2026, we work incredibly hard to ensure our stock rotation is the fastest in the industry. Fresh peat-free compost performs significantly better for germination and early plant development than older stock that has been sitting in a garden centre or with unauthorised sellers for months.

Sent an email asking where the goods where to be advised would be delivered the next day.
Shipping label said ordered 6/3 next day delivery. DHL finally delivered 11/3 -4 days late

I’m very sorry for the delay you experienced. We aim to dispatch every order the next day meaning all orders are collected by our carriers on time to arrive next day service. Orders processed on the 6th were collected on the 9th and handed to DHL immediately, but a backlog held up until the 11th, meaning they were 24 hours late.
I appreciate you reaching out to us, and I'm glad we could at least provide a clear update when you did. We are working closely with our carriers to ensure their 'Next Day' service meets the standards our customers expect.

2* Not the fault of the supplier but the inept ability of the courier. A Supplier needs to realise that their success is not just the quality of the product but having the product arrive on time and in a good condition is paramount.

I am sincerely sorry that your order hasn't reached you yet. Having spent 20 years at FarPlants, you know better than anyone that timing is everything in gardening, and a delay of this type is completely unacceptable.
We have completed a full investigation into your consignment. Our records show the order was picked and dispatched on time, but there has been a significant failure within the local DHL network. As this is a courier error and not a delay from our warehouse, I am stepping in to resolve this immediately and have spoken to you directly on the phone over the course of yesterday to reassure you we are here and taking action with all transparency between us and DHL.
From this communication, you can see we have directly contacted the local DHL depot to seek the delivery date. If they fail to respond within the 24 hours timeframe provided, we will gladly replace the entire order with an expedited service.
Thank you for your patience, and I appreciate you bringing this to my attention personally. We can only learn from this and make adjustments to our preferred carrier partners if customers like you bring it to our attention that they are failing.

Absolutely awful. Not to be trusted. Booked a gardener to help following receipt of product. They confirmed it would be delivered on time. Did not arrive and no further emails from them. Sent a message day after and no reponse. Clearly, once they have your order and payment they wash their hands of you!

I am sincerely sorry for the frustration and the impact this delay had on your gardening plans. We aim to get every order out immediately to ensure timely arrival, but once a parcel is with the carrier, we are reliant on their network.
In this rare instance, the carrier unfortunately lost the parcel in transit. We were only notified of the 'lost' status at 12.30pm on the 6th of March, at which point we immediately began working to resolve it. While our terms do state we cannot be held liable for third-party courier delays or secondary costs like gardeners and contractor fees, we absolutely do not 'wash our hands' of our customers.
We have already offered either a full refund / dispatched a replacement order with a free weekend delivery upgrade and I have sent a private email to ensure this is resolved to your satisfaction.
We value your trust and regret that the carrier let us both down on this occasion.
