No extra charges - strange in this day and age. Ive been with them for years which shows they have decent prices. But ive never had to use them so cant honestly give a review based on that. But I just changed my car and for no reason other than greed, my insurance company double my monthly payment and charged £12 admin fee. Admin fee for an automated process? Went to update details with Start Rescue - ZERO CHANGES OR COSTS. 5*.

This morning I had to use Start Rescue for the second time after my motorcycle suffered a puncture on a dual carriage. Not an experience to recommend, but at least the recovery one was as good as it could have been. Fortunately I was not far from a layby so was able to get to safety. Checking the website on my phone to get my policy details it advised me to use the app for reporting, which definitely helps with not having to remember latitude and longitude from the map app! After it said my recovery had been assigned it gave me an ETA of an hour. I guess being a Sunday morning helped, but the truck pulled up literally 20 minutes later. The driver was very friendly and although it took over two hours, he got me and the bike safely home. I have been with Start Rescue for several years and I am thankful that when it mattered most the service was this good.

Start rescue came as soon as I called them and I was kept informed when they will arrive. The technician called me when he was 10 mins away.

Really poor experience. I was told my policy was 'invalid' because my car didn’t have tax or an MOT, which is not what the policy actually says.

Different staff gave conflicting information, and I was even told about an internal rule (not written in the policy) that affected the decision.

After being passed around and given misleading information, I was told my only option was to pay £140 pay-as-you-go rate, which is extortionate.

Lack of transparency and poor communication.

Been with all the breakdown companies over the years and Start has been the best one . I’ve had to call them twice over the last 6 months and both times theyve arrived within an hour of the call . They send out a local recovery firm …in my case GRS in Bournemouth , and they have been absolutely superb .

Great customer service when you need it most.

Absolutely faultless service from this company. You get through to a very helpful and professional member of staff immediately, no waiting on hold or long menus. Excellent communication. A huge help in collecting my son’s motor bike which had broken down. Sincere thanks.

My car broke down at home so I contacted Start Rescue to transport my car to the local garage, (the same fault from two months previously had re-occured, and that faulty part was under warranty). I was given an approximate time of arrival of the mechanic. I was contacted by text and by phone to enquire about whether the mechanic had arrived, and was then regularly updated with the mechanic's progress. On that day, due to heavy traffic, the mechanic arrived one hour later than planned, eventually he arrived with the recovery vehicle, and transported my car (and I) to the garage promptly. Excellent customer service from Start Recovery, a very reputable company indeed!

Quick response. Fixed quickly despite access not being easy due to being on a busy car park. Thanks for a great service.

Prompt, friendly, knowledgeable, reliable and accurate. The app is a hassle because when I've broken down I've had no internet signal, but apart from that I am super impressed. The wait time has been minimal, and they were extremely kind and supportive during a hideous cold stormy night when I was so tired and hungry. And the actual engineer was a complete angel.

Theres a very good reason why I have been with Start Rescue for so long. I cannot find better service anywhere else. The prices are always amazing for the cover and their customer services team are second to none.

Have had a couple of breakdowns now and start rescue have been brilliant - quick, effective and without extra costs. Wouldn't go anywhere else now

Absolutely 💯 perfect service

Be aware that you get no refund if you cancel your policy part way through the year. Having sold the vehicle and getting cover automatically provided with the new car we have lost 7 months of cover having made no claims in many years. Really annoying as they've previously been very good. Customer service efficient.
