This is the first time I have ever left a 1* review for anything.

It is terrifying that a company appointed by a reputable bank like Halifax to deal with my personal conveyancing can have such a hold over my personal finances.

The poor service from Solex is costing e £1,000 a month extra on my mortgage.

I call once a week to chase progress on my remortgage, on hold for approx 10 mins, I am rushed off the call with "there's nothing I can do".

I ask to speak to my case handler - it has been 4 months of asking and she has not made contact with me.

They say they haven't received documents that have been posted to them - even though they were send recorded delivery and I have receipt of delivery.

It is a shocking service and I am really worried that their poor service is costing me so much money which I can't afford. I hope Halifax read this and address their partnership with them.

no words! they are so bad been over a month and not getting anywhere at all with the case! hacve spent hours on hold so then be cut off at postition 1 every time! no replies to emails at all!! worst company ever!!!

Fiona and Sneha were very professional and courteous, keeping me up to date at all times, Solex are an excellent company and I would certainly use them again.

Worst Legal services I’ve used. On hold for a minimum of 10/15 minutes then to receive no help from the other side. Literally I’ve been ringing all day for confirmation on document that I know they have received as the other has confirmed it. Just no customer services what so ever. I feel Like the advisors have bad attitudes that don’t actually care about your case. It’s literally to get you off the call. I’m assuming to make KPI’s.
My query still has not been dealt with despite my efforts for weeks.

If I could give a zero I would! I wouldn’t trust these people to run a bath let alone do anything else!

This is the company that the mortgage company used, if I had known then what I know now I would have found my own company.

Firstly you will never be able to speak to your case handler on the phone, the people who answer the phone are beyond rude. In particular a person called Jenny who truly has to be one of the most miserable unsatisfied people on earth as that’s the only way I can imagine she thinks it’s appropriate to speak to people the way she does. Just awful and a disgrace to any form of customer service. The whole company is incompetent, they lie about receiving documents. They will send you round in circles with everything!

We started our re-mortgage in July for a 1st of November completion, that came and went due to the total “I don’t care attitude” of this company.

The whole process cost us over £1K by having to pay out of fixed term mortgage payments, then extra interest as they finally put it through half way through December. Jenny and crew thought this was funny? Yeah run up to Christmas having to find extra money with a child under 10 at home, absolutely side splitting! These people are the spawn of the devil!

The broker we used was gobsmacked at how terrible the legal team was and if they hadn’t had stepped in I wouldn’t imagine that the completion would have been done yet!

Save yourself the stress, mental torture and money and use another company.

The manager should hang their head in shame!

This is the worst solicitor firm I have ever had to deal with for a remortgage

Terrible service. They made multiple errors, each time accusing us of making the mistake. When they realised it was an error on their part there was no apology. A service which should have taken 2 weeks, ended up taking months.

Solex shouldn’t be allowed to operate in this industry, I wouldn’t trust their leadership to arrange a kids tea party, let alone my mortgage. Their management and leadership are letting down a team that I believe want to provide a good service. A selection of my frustrations:
1. Automated emails sent in the middle of the night informing that my case has been closed.
2. Loss of documents sent through the post (Mortgage Deed)
3. Documents not sent through the post despite notifications that they had.
4. Emails not responded to or read, just automated responses saying how busy they are and citing “external factors” and “challenging times”.
5. Complaints procedure not made available on request.

I cannot begin to stress how poor the service is with this legal firm. I would if possible when your mortgage lender offers their services I’d choose a local firm and pay for their services. Solex have very poor attention to detail, your documents will be littered with inaccuracies some extremely important such as the value of your mortgage. You will also never get a reply from their email service completely breaching their SLAs, to the point where you risk not completing. You will also call their phone numbers and never get to speak to your case handlers . Despite paying off my shortfall of my mortgage I was sent an automated letter telling me I had £0 to pay and due to this I would not be able to complete. I’m still waiting for the reply to my query on this

Dire. Very worrying that large mortgage lenders are using this company. I can’t even begin to explain the grief I am going through with their ineptitude. Please contact me so we can challenge this company together and get our just compensation ( if admin permits )

Recently remortgaged and Solex were the solicitor company appointed by the new lender.
Very poor communication and there was an unjustified delay on processing my paperwork resulting on me paying a very high mortgage payment due to the high interest rate. Made a complaint 10 days ago and up until today I had no answer whatsoever from Solex.
I do not recommend this company to anyone and really don’t understand why bank uses companies like this one to provide services for them. Shocking!!

Hi used this company to do a remortgage with, they were truly outstanding, very professional, and made the process fast stress free and super quick in completing every aspect of it, I can't speak highly enough of them and most certainly recommend them to all.

A very good company to work with, everything went very smooth with our remortgage. Very good communication and transparency. Recommended.

Made the transactions a breeze everything in place on time great updates and progress reports

We had a great experience with Fiona and Sneha from Solex legal services. They were very responsive and clarified all our questions. They gave us good advice when we needed them. There were very patient and managed the process very well and professionally. I would highly recommend and would definitely use them again.

Quick and easy process, I was always kept informed on the progress of my remortgage and their customer service was brilliant.

This must be the UK's most incompetent legal firm. They do not seem to understand the most basic concepts of re- mortgaging or finance

Absolutely terrible service, never once answered questions i needed answered, constantly getting notifications from their automated computer system saying we hadn't sent back documents, but they hadn't even sent us the documents for us to send back, chased and chased, a simple 4 week process took over 3 months to complete, and even then we didn't find out that we completed on 28th July until they sent a letter on 14th Aug. !! they should be ashamed of their service. My recommendation to anyone else choosing to use solex is - STAY AWAY DO NOT USE, AVOID AT ALL COST, you will get zero service, zero communication, and 4 times the wait, they are not a solicitor / conveyancer, just an automated computer system ( that pings you emails at 4am !) and where customers have to do your work for you! Shame On them !

I was very happy with the services I got from Solex legal
They were always available to answer the phone without keeping you waiting and they got the job done on time. I will highly recommend them

After being delayed by banks and other mortgage advisors Solex were recommended.
From the first phone call to them they were surprisingly relaible,, straight forward and helpful.
We were on a time limit to get a re-mortgage which was running close due to previous companies. Solex understood this and got done what they said they could. Not once did I need to chase them. I was kept informed of every step by email.
If anyone needs a mortgage or financial advice I would highly recommend to contact this company first.
