Great Golfing experience in central Skåne, Sweden.
Had the pleasure recently of playing Sjöbo Golf Club in Southern Sweden. My wife, another couple and myself enjoyed the play in a gorgeous 18 hole layout nestled in a scenic hardwood and pine forest. Though nearly all the fairways were line with trees we had no trouble locating the occasional (all too;() errant teeshot. Most of the greens were immaculate and fair. My friend Ulrik offered me a beer on the 12th hole and I lost the match by 1 stroke. Not the first time this has happened.
I sobered up by the 19th hole, especially after reviewing the scorecard;)
Please be advised that drinking and driving, golf and otherwise, do not mix...especially in Sweden where there is a zero tolerance policy. My grocer friend, Magnus, in Abbekås tell of a friend of his who drank a beer one day and went out for a spin 2 hours later. He was breathalyzed by the cops and spent 3 hours in the Ystad Police Station while his blood test was cleared. No real harm done but several wasted hours. He could have played a round of golf at Sjöbo!!!
A Swedish man was asked what his plans were for the day and he answered, "I guess I'll get up, have a drink and then I won't have to do anything the rest of the day!!!" At least that's a strategy!(ö:)
