Seed Talks Omdömen 

This is our third Seed Talk (I always buy the group ticket, and watch with my equally-nerdy brother and sister). We've always found the presenters to be extremely knowledgeable and well-prepared.

Looking forward to the next.

Great talk and fabulous another venue in Kent.

Slightly off putting that the sliding doors opened throughout meaning cold air came in, plus noisy background (air con??) and lights that hung over the screen so obscured view depending where you sat.

Great quality event. Smoothly run and lovely venue. The speaker was quality, very enjoyable and easy to listen to. The subject delivered was vast and at times it felt like a whistle stop tour. More detail would have been nice about rituals etc. very informative, wouldn’t say it was juicy or scandalous (which when talking about witches and the patriarchy, I was hoping for lots of).

Great talk - clearly knowledgeable speaker. Informative, but not too high brow so was able to connect with the audience easily. Would have stayed all night to listen to such an exceptional speaker. Thank you.

Saw the history of the witch. A superb talk, so knowledgeable. Would have been great to have access to the slides after as so much information. I will attend again.

Fascinating speaker and well put on event. Can’t wait to try more talks - great venue choice too, very comfortable and easy to see/hear. Would love if the speaker was raised up a little bit to be able to see their face more, but didn’t take away from the experience.

An informative and humorous talk from a knowledgeable expert on Scandinavian history. For me, it was great top up to a previous Viking history tour. Loved the candlelight and atmosphere.

Well organised event. Amazing speaker who was funny and engaging throughout. The topic was covered with respect, clarity and reference backed information. Fully recommend for those that want to learn more on the topic or who are simply curious about humankind

A memorable evening and one that engendered as many questions as it provided answers. I think the fundamental point the presenter was making was that witches are not icons, women in black with pointy hats but real people who were tortured and executed through no real fault of their own.

Dr Joan Passey and the Seed team were excellent! The event was well structured and accessable. Joan was extremely knowledgeable about her subject, engaging and whilst delving into darker material and academic theory, she made it fun and engaging and it was so refreshing to hear the subject presented in this way. Great audio visuals and all in all a fun, thought provoking and engaging talk and Q & A at the end - highly recommended.

The talk was great, inclusive, interesting, thoughtful, entertaining, and I felt totally comfortable as a solo attendee. I only wish it was recorded so I could rewatch it! Thank you Lindsay and Seed. Please come back!

Attended a talk on witches and witchcraft at Assembly Rooms Lincoln.
Despite being an academic myself this was dull beyond all reckoning.
The first 45 minutes was a literary review of primary data akin to a PhD paper. Total Yawn
We left at the mid break. Just dull.

I was disappointed that no support was available on the door for accessible access - the vip ticket seats were wooden kitchen type chairs and I spent the first 20 minutes in agony -the chairs at the back where fully cushioned and more comfortable however far too late to rearrange . I had to leave early due to pain. The subject should have been academically elating but it was lacking

Thoroughly enjoyed my second talk this year. Both have been so engaging and interesting in content. Well organised at Winchester and Southampton. Can’t wait to go to more!!
