I had a medium sized order which originally couldn’t be found due to the delivery service delivering to the wrong address, and I had not been sent any dispatch or tracking information until i emailed to ask when my items would be shipped. Upon opening two of my items appear mouldy and the metal fastenings were corroded. I emailed Scarlett 10/7/26 regarding the damage, I have yet to receive any reply to rectify or respond.

I have fed my 29yo African Grey Harrisons Power Treats for several years, since she decided to ignore their ordinary pellets. There is a particular issue with her as she is quite small and prone to weight loss, particularly since losing our beloved male 3 years ago, so I am pleased she is still tucking into the Power Treats. The only moan I have contacted Harrisons about is the variation in pellet weight, which produced a large proportion of double-sized pellets in a single bag. Again, Henrietta discarded these so the cost was mounting up, but happily Harrisons now seem to be back in control of their production line. Scarlets are very friendly and efficient, and I particularly congratulate them for packing our Harrisons thoughtfully in an adequate box instead of cramming them into a jiffybag which gave no protection, as my previous supplier did.
Selling unsafe wicker star chew toys
This company are, at the time of writing, selling unsafe wicker star chew toys.
The main structure of the stars, that they market as 'natural', is held together by 5 nails of unspecified metal. The nails are mostly covered by wicker pieces woven around the structure but once the bird chews the toy, the nails are exposed and they are jagged. I do not recommend this toy. Scarlett Parrots were notified, but the pack of 10 stars has not yet been removed from shop.
Defective item, Return Postage Not Covered
I bought a "Little Feet Bridge" from this store. The bridge is completely straight and would not bend downwards at all, even when pressure was applied. It looks nothing like the product photo.
In my opinion, the item does not match the product photo or description. The store agreed to a return but refused to cover the return postage costs.
Based on my experience, I would not recommend this store, as I do not feel the issue was resolved fairly.

Scarlett herself is lovely and very responsive to emails and phone calls. The website is has products at cheaper prices than other well-known websites, I used this as my main go-to site for everything for my pet birds. They handle returns very quickly and often you get a better alternative. I have even had a special food mix made up for me when the one I wanted was out of stock - I also got more than I asked for. I highly recommend Scarletts Parrot Essentials for anyone looking to buy food, toys and accessories for all sizes and species of pet birds. I have been a regular customer for several years now.
Never received the promised tracking…
Never received the promised tracking number, and my parcel was delivered to completely wrong address (was completely wrong on label)- delivery costs very high for such a poor service. When I received the goods (had to go collect from the other address)- the parrot ladder was in pieces, had to superglue it back together. Complaint sent to company hasn't even been acknowledged. Very poor, would not use again.
Poor delivery and no communication
Placed an order 12th Dec 2025. No communication, no delivery. Checked my credit card and a refund had been processed. Then ordered again removing the larger item. No delivery as at 5th Jan. DPD states got notice of the order but DPD hasn’t received the parcel.
What has happened to them, they used to be so good.
No delivery and no one to speak to
Order 12th December and had email confirmation. Nothings arrived. Contacted them on web form and no reply. Emailed them and no reply. Rang them multiple times and no answer. Now issued a charge back against them
Regular customer now very disappointed.

Scarlet has been in touch and apologised for the delays, due to issues with DPD collection but hopefully I should receive my parcel in the next day or 2. Therefore I have updated the rating based on this.
As a very regular customer of scarletts parrot essentials I must say i am very very disappointed this time around. I usually get my deliveries next day, 2 days maximum
I ordered some toys and perches for a rescue bird who had nothing. This was placed on 18th and as far as im aware parcel hasn't been sent and multiple emails I've sent, messaged on Facebook and tried calling their phone number all to be ignored with no reply. It's completely unacceptable. All I expect is abit of communication as to why the delay and when I might expect it.

I ordered an item which was showing in stock at the time of ordering. Without warning, I instead got sent a "replacement" item as the original was out of stock.
I got told I could return it and receive a refund but the postage cost more than the original item, and now I was expected to pay for return postage aswell? I have sent 3 seperate emails asking if postage would also be refunded, but have received no reply in more than a week.
Very disappointed. Be warned that an item you order may not be in stock and you could receive something you don't want.
Big warning, you don’t get what you pay for anymore!
It took over a month(!)before they even sent my package! I sent several of emails and messages during this time asking for what was going on, tracking info and so on - no response. When I finally demanded my money back then they sent off my package (four weeks later) which arrived after a few days. Several of items was missing from my order! So a big warning stay away if you want your things!

I ordered a few things for my birds and usually, they ship items within three days, as I've said I've ordered from this store many times and they've been lovely. I once emailed asking if they could pop some rope perches in a parrot pack for me as I was rescuing a cockatiel with deformed feet and they had done that for me which was lovely.
However, it's been nearly a week which is unusual, so I popped them over an email just politely asking when shipping could be expected as I will be away from home for a few weeks and would like to arrange for someone to be there for collection... No response from them at all. I've looked at some other recent reviews and apparently the same thing has happened to them as well.
I have asked for my order to be cancelled as I can't be sure when the parcel will arrive. But I only hope I will be able to get a refund.... Love this company but I have to say I am concerned now.
Rude, unhelpful staff
I have placed several orders with this company and on occasion, if there was a problem, this company are rude and unhelpful:-
1. I ordered a Liberta cage for my african grey and after a couple of months the metal covering on the bottom grill started perishing. These cages are meant to come with a certificate of 'authenticity' and are allegedly parrot proof coverings. This company didn't want to help at all, rude attitude. They could use training in customer service skills.
2. I ordered 2 travel cages and one arrived with not the 2 perches (as advertised) but one perch which was half split down the full length. I spoke to a man and he was extremely rude and tried to fob me off by saying this was the cut of the wood. I suggested that he simply send me a fit for purpose perch (plus the one that was missing). I suggested that I could order a full replacement cage and he said that he would refund me and would not be sending a replacement -clearly he was having a bad day!
These are just the main more expensive orders that I placed, however, I have ordered parrot toys in the past and they have arrived broken - this company do not want to know or help - is it the couriers fault? Either way, you are out of money with broken toys!
I appreciate product quality can vary, however, with high quality control this should not be occurring.
Finally, the event that really took the biscuit from this shoddy company - I had reason to call about a previous order (broken toys etc) to this company (bearing in mind that I have trained others in customer service as my career for many years!)
I ordered food online and this did not arrive, no emails, no messages (bearing in mind my birds were nearly out of food!). When I called, the rude employee said that they had cancelled my order and would not be fulfilling it. I questioned as to why and they could not give me an answer.
Basically, if you use this company and are prepared to accept broken/substandard items without issue you will be fine. If you offer to raise this as an issue, you will be met with rude, unhelpful staff and then your subsequent orders blocked.
STAY AWAY, no package and no response
Placed an order on 10.09.25, but have not received anything. It is over 30 days ago and the overseas shipping should take up to 7 days. No answer or response from website or email.

Broken parrot toy
Ordered two parrot toys. One was broken on arrival. I could not see their returns process on the website, so I emailed twice about the broken product, but received no reply. I rang, but no answer. Rang again, but no answer again, so left an answer phone message, to which I have had no response. Over three weeks have passed since I first contacted them. I will NOT use again.
