Bombay -Sandals Grande St Lucia

Superb Indian cuisine from the Bombay, Grande St Lucia, team, especially from Sharman & Amanda, all dishes offer authenticity in taste & quality. Is this the best restaurant at Grande? it could well be if you’re an Indian lover, & we are. It’s certainly as good as the Barbados Bombay.. highly recommend a visit if you’re in any of the Sandals Sites in St Lucia.

Huge compliments to the Chefs and team, you absolutely Smash it.. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

A big thank you to O'Brian Heron,General Manager at Sandals Southcoast Jamaica.

On our recent trip, it was such a pleasure to meet him at the pool bar, mingling with residents, getting first hand feedback on our experiences.

This was actually the second time I have met Mr Heron. The first time, was in 2021 when you assisted my mum and I to check in and orientate our way around the resort. Once again, thank you to Mr Heron and his excellent staff. An excellent stay and an excellent example of a 5 star experience.

Be Aware Be Aware

Be Aware Be Aware! Paid £8000, I had a heart condition, now doctors advise to not to travel (which I have a letter from the consultant) , I spoke to Sandals to change the package to my daughter and her husband name! They refused!!! They told me even if I was to die I won’t be able to change the names on my holiday that I fully paid for!!!!
Now they will probably resell our plane business class tickets and our hotels package!!! What a rip off and abrupt customer service!! Please be aware and book straight with the hotel and the airline! It is not worth the risk.

Unique Travel Corporation

I have stayed at Sandals multiple times and have enjoyed myself. However, their travel agency, UNIQUE TRAVEL CORP is absolutely THE WORST! Their customer service is HORRIBLE. November 2022, I was scheduled to fly from Orlando to Miami and then Miami to Barbados. My flight to Miami was cancelled. So, I was forced to drive to Miami in order to catch my flight to Barbados. The airline issued refund for the cancelled flight, which was sent to Unique (as the travel agency who handled the booking). To date (8 months later), I still have not received my refund. I have made numerous calls, spent hours on the phone with them to no resolve. They keeping telling me they are researching where the money is and will call me back. No one ever calls back. Not to mention, they REFUSE to let me speak with a supervisor. It has been a complete mess. At this point, it just makes me never travel to Sandals again.

Screwed out of all our points for 60 PAID NIGHTS

We were long-time Sandals customers with 60 paid nights. We booked to travel to Sandals Ochi but had to cancel due to covid. We booked again and had to cancel due to my wife's hip surgery. We checked our profile and were shocked to find out that all of our points were cancelled due to inactivity. We contacted Sandals and spoke with a lady who was able to return our points "IF" we booked a resort that had absolutely terrible reviews. We chose to decline. Sandals pride itself on being top-of-the-line, 5-star and so on and so forth, however, they definitely need to work on their customer service. FYI, we were at no time notified regarding the point expiration date and were never told that there was such a thing. We are extremely disappointed and I contacted Sandals via my Sandals app to see if they were interested in correcting this issue, no return correspondence. I want people to realize how things can deteriorate. I realize covid put a damper on resorts but I can't understand how they could treat us like this! PreCovid Reservation Trip insurance

We paid for a trip in August 2019 for our 35th wedding anniversary the following year August 2020. For the 1st time we paid for trip insurance (3rd party)! Finally after 3 years of attempts we were denied reimbursement. Instead sent 2 vouchers for another trip to Sandals, BUT we have to PAY upfront for another trip, THEN mail in said vouchers. HOW the hell do I know they'll pay me back after a second time???

NOT A GOOD ONE CURACAO

7/8 - 7/15 Usually the Sandals properties have been outstanding, unfortunately the Curacao property is lacking. The rooms are set up nice and clean, but be careful of walking the floors, they can be really slick. Case in point my spouse was walking from the bathroom and turned to corner to come to bed, he slipped and hit his arm on the corner of the wall causing a 6' scrape along his arm. Then at some point my sister-in-law in another room slips in shower-the shower floor has no texture, she sprang her ankle and was in wheelchair for the rest of our stay, also the telephone in my in-law's room did not work, when the incident happened, they had no way of contacting front desk. The staff was not as friendly as staff on other resorts we have visited such as Jamaica, Barbados, St. Lucia. The bars on this property were always lacking something, lime, certain vodka, etc. At other properties I noted how friendly staff has been, on Curacao property I witnessed at least twice staff bickering with one another openly. We had a night excursion into the city that did not go well, fortunately we got a portion of our money back on that. We look forward to our get aways, but this one has us proceeding with caution, we have not given up on Sandal's, but unanimously my travel family has decided NOT to return to the Curacao resort.

Warning: My Sandals vacation was a complete disaster. AVOID SANDALS BARBADOS.

My husband and I booked our first ever all-inclusive Sandals vacation for April of 2023, and we were excited to relax and enjoy a week of sun and fun. Our experience could not have been worse…

The check-in process was chaotic and prolonged, setting the tone for a disappointing stay. The orientation instructor never showed up, leaving us clueless about the resort's offerings. When we went to the front desk for help, every staff member we dealt with was rude and unhelpful. We upgraded to a nicer room so we would be able to order room service, the first night we tried several things on the menu and the food was disgustingly subpar, and we both got sick. There were also several other issues with our “upgraded” room.. The bathroom door didn't close due to uneven floors, and the toilet had constant flushing issues. The AC failed to cool the room adequately, making it uncomfortable. When we raised concerns with the club level concierge, nothing was done. In fact, more often than not the manager was “currently off-site” and we were left with empty promises that someone would follow up.

On the 4th night of our trip, we had dinner at Schooner’s and my wife got FOOD POISONING. She was unable to get out of bed for two days, except to run to the bathroom to throw up in a toilet the WOULD NOT FLUSH. On top of that, it was nearly impossible to get room service to answer the phone, when we needed more towels or a fridge restock. My husband had to go to the restaurants on site to find food I could stomach and bring it back himself… Would you call this a luxury vacation?

We spoke to several people while on the property and were never given assistance or compensation. When we got home, we submitted a complaint through the customer service department and after months of back and forth, Sandals was unwilling to provide any sort of a refund. Their only offer was a 3-night stay at another Sandals property. AS IF I WOULD EVER GO BACK.

Stay away from Sandals Barbados if you value your money and well-being. Although the property was nice, the service and experience was horrific.

Health Hazard

We stayed in room 150 at Sandals La Toc from 6/11/23 through 6/16/23, When we first entered the room there was a significant odor of mold and mildew. At first, we thought it would air out. We turned on the fan and opened the sliding glass door. The fresh air helped, and we became accustomed to the odor. However, every time we left the room and returned the odor was overwhelming. We asked house keeping for air fresheners several times and they were never provided. A staff member asked about our stay, and I informed her about the dissatisfaction with the room and she stated that she would inform the front desk staff. Our concerns were never addressed. Every time we entered the room we were hit with the odor of mold and mildew. After several days I examined the room closer and noted several places where mold had been painted over The staff had to have been aware of the rooms condition, but the room was booked despite its condition and no steps were made to rectify the issue.

I am concerned that guests may become seriously ill from being exposed to and inhaling mold spores. I suggest that the room be renovated.

Overrated

While I cherished the time spent with my family at the Sandals resort, I must admit that it fell short of our expectations when compared to other resorts we have previously visited, especially considering the higher cost. Let me share the positives first: the resort itself is visually stunning and well-maintained, and the majority of the staff members were friendly and accommodating. The 24/7 access to the pool was a convenient feature, and we felt safe and at ease while strolling along the connected 7-mile beach. Additionally, the food served was fresh and delicious.
However, there were a few downsides to our experience. It was quite peculiar that the only available dinner option for those without reservations at the other restaurants was French cuisine, which felt out of place in Jamaica. Unfortunately, there was no buffet option for dinner at the Sandals Negril location. On several occasions, we were disappointed to find that popular cocktails like Bob Marley and Ziggy Marley were unavailable, which was particularly disheartening since not all of us are avid drinkers. When I mention "big drinkers," I simply mean enjoying two cocktails in succession.
Furthermore, my son and his new wife were celebrating their honeymoon, but they had to request the perks that were supposed to be included with their room. Additionally, my aunt, who has a mobility impairment and cannot climb stairs, was assigned a room on the third floor with no elevator access. The entertainment provided at the resort was below par compared to other Jamaican resorts we have visited. One evening, the entertainment manager excessively spoke during a show, and it was evident that some guests were even dozing off. In our group of 14 family members, none of us have plans to return to the Negril location.
Lastly, we were required to vacate our room at 6 am with no breakfast, six hours before our scheduled flight departure to the airport, even though the journey was only a 1 hour and 5-minute drive. The resort staff informed us that if we desired a later shuttle, we would need to sign a document acknowledging that the resort would not be held responsible if we missed our flight.
To sum up, although the presence of my family made the Sandals resort enjoyable, we found it to be overrated in comparison to other resorts we have stayed at in the past, particularly considering the cost. The resort's beauty and maintenance, friendly staff, 24/7 pool access, and safe beach were positives. However, the limited dinner options, cocktail shortages, challenges with honeymoon perks and room assignments, lackluster entertainment, and overall experience have led us to decide against returning to the Negril location.

Sandals resort Nassau Bahamas

Sandals resort Nassau Bahamas, enjoyed it over all. Relaxed and comfortable. Rooms a bit tired and struggled in restaurants to get a second drink as service was slow but taking that into account not bad overall. Had Butlers.. Zhaly , Jay and Basil, few hiccups … Zhaly great and got it all spot on , great job. Keno a good laugh and lovely driver … enjoyed Barbados and Antigua so will try again. Food was lovely, entertainment great and so much to drink… can’t complain!!

Come one, come all to Sandal's Dunn's River

We had another perfect vacation at another great Sandals Resort....this time at the new Dunn's River Sandals.

It all started with the warm greeting and welcome from the General Manager Deryk and the Loyalty Manager Rosheena.

This place is outstanding. The rooms, the food, the drinks, the staff, the pool, the lush environment, the entertainment, the entire package was all that we were looking forward too plus much more.

Sandals should definitely be on everyone's "to do/bucket list"

Sandals Dunn's River, we were sad to leave but we will definitely be back soon!!!

If I could give a zero stars

If I could give a zero stars, I would.
We had to book in another the room the first night of our trip. It wasn’t club level and we felt like we were being treated like lower class people. We were told our club level room would be ready by 3:00 and we needed to checkout if our original room by 11:00. So for 4 hours we did do beach activities and pool bar. When we finally came to check in (being wet) our room wasn’t ready and out belongings haven’t been moved yet. Oh yes, we weee still wet and waiting after an hour of waiting again. Food is marginal and the standard drinks are watered down and awful. The two restaurants that need reservations are always booked. This was supposed to be a big anniversary celebration alone with my husband. It’s been nothing but a hassle 2 days into the trip.

A Terrible Sandals Experience!

Upon check-in at the Sandals Royal Bahamian on Thursday, April 27, 2023, we were informed that our Penthouse Suite room was not ready and could enjoy lunch while waiting. Upon return, were told after another 30 minute wait that we would not receive the room we had reserved and paid in advance the first night. We were escorted to a Junior Suite garden view room for the first night and assured we would be upgraded to the 6th floor for our remaining three nights. Our compensation would be a $53 in-kind credit. I argued that this was not nearly enough of compensation and was told I would get the $53 plus $150 in-kind credit. I still was not satisfied so my message would be forwarded to a higher level manager.

We did not want to unpack and hang our belongings since we were to check out of the room the next morning at 11:00 and told our room would be ready between 1:30-2:00 the next day. We had planned to go into downtown Nassau that day to arrive ahead of the weekend cruises and larger crowds. After checking back into the front desk at 1:45, we were again told the room was not quite ready. We were later taken and into our room at 2:45 pm.

A manager called me that Friday evening and we discussed my situation. I had requested that first night be completely comped ($1,000) for my inconvenience and the manager told me that she would check with her supervisor and call me the next morning at 9:30. The next morning came and she had not returned the phone call by 10:00 am. I never heard from her again during my stay. I also found out during check-out that the $203 credit had to be spent at the resort. We had already spent over $100 at the gift shop, but where else do you spend money at an all-inclusive resort such as Sandals. Later a different manager told me that they would credit my card but it would be up to 14 days. As of today, June 23, I have not received and it took three weeks to remove the $400 hold has not been taken off of my credit card.

It was our 25th wedding anniversary and we booked this trip August 8, 2022 to assure we would have a nice, romantic trip. It’s a shame, that after booking 9 months early and paying 6 weeks ahead of arrival that this is how it came to be. The management of the rooms remind me of the practices of car rental agencies. You make a reservation only to find out you don’t have the correct reservation and are switched to a lesser accommodation upon arrival. The lady at the front desk revealed that this was a common practice at this resort.

Needless to say, my wife and I were very disappointed in this experience and the compensation received and will never stay, or tell our friends and family to use Sandals Resorts in the future. As of today, June 23, 2023 I have not received a response from Sandals.

Terrible

Terrible. We had two disabled people in our party that sandals claimed not to know about, took two days to move one to a disabled accessible room and 5 to move the other. Even then the nearest lift didn’t work!!!! Food was terrible and we had to ask many times for drinks and to have the mini bar refilled. Room wasn’t serviced several times and certain premium label drinks (hard seltzer) weren’t available to us because we didn’t pay for a butler.

Perfect wedding @ Ochi Rio's

First day, we arrived rather late on the resort, we had a meeting with the wedding planner in the morning. Who asked how did our tour go with our butler (hadn't even met them at this point or given a point of contact) Michelle then phoned them and they gave us the phone and left. 🤷 No tour or a run down of what to expect from them. Especially being British.
The wedding was perfect 😍 cake and cocktail reception was delicious. The butlers even made some beautiful messages on our bed with rose petals and towels.
The rest of the stay was perfect everyone was lovely and welcoming and we made friends with the entertainment team especially Charlotte, Tyree & Joel whom were brilliant at recognising faces.
We had some communication hiccups about water sports so thinking it was a cost we put it off, until someone told us that paddle boarding was included so off we went. I fell in and lost my sunglasses which was a bummer but my own fault. However the guys - Dwain, Romeo and Davel went above and beyond to dive where I fell to find the sunglasses!!!!

The remaining stay we noticed one of our butlers didn't seem like the heart was in it, knowing that we were finishing off our honeymoon. Gave us a couple of sob story, and unbelievable at that, after the other butler already told us they were paid well and consistently. Which unfortunately left them with little credibility from us.
On the last day we arranged the tip for butlers to be in the butler suite and requested that they weren't given until 3pm when we left. Now the (already mentioned) butler was obviously desperate went and retrieved it before we left. We weren't generous with that butler because of what I had mentioned above.
But it was definitely noticed as. They passed us by and instead of saying good bye (or any other customer service) we got a sour face and an acknowledgment.

We are planning on returning but will request a different butler if given the same one.

We went to Bahamas old bahamian feb 2022 and march 2023 10 days and 8 dsys respectively. Also barbados feb 2023. Yes thats 3 visits in 13 months . A total of 24 days spent at all sandals includive resorts.

Dont complain you are falling on deaf ears
Main Pools freezing never heated
Restaurants take ages to serve you drinks…. Water served immediately alcohol 20 mins by which time your fed up and then to get a second glass of wine 😞??
Rooms not cleaned in either resorts just beds made eventually at 6 pm in evening despite calls to reception daily to get up there and clean!!
Absolute joke of resorts. We went 3 times to give benefit of doubt but it got worse each time.
Never again!! Pay bit more and go to a four star resort hotel not all inclusive sandals food was very below standard expected

Just got back from Sandals Montego Bay

Just got back from Sandals Montego Bay. Before I get going, we've been to only one other Sandals and that was the Royal Bahamian in the Bahamas. That resort was fabulous. don't be in a hurry, you need to be on Island time. Money well spent. Service, food selection during all times of the day. Private Island was very nice with the 5 min ride to it form the main resort.
Sandals Montego Bay was a little bit of a disappointment. Pretty much for lunch you eat on the beach or at the pool. Hamberger's, Hotdogs, Pizza and Jerk Patties. They do have a lunch buffet, but frankly, for me Golden Corral has a better selection. I could stand at the bar for 10 minutes and not get helped. The pool bar didn't even have a wine opener for the wine. With a stir spoon they would push it down into the bottles. Butches didn't offer T-bones or ribeye's but did offer a surf and turf with a filet, but not lobster, it was shrimp. we ate at all the restaurants except Soy. None of them knock your socks off. But maybe that's just me. Bars are centrally located for convenience. Pools were smaller than expected. We made reservations for the next two years, but after reviewing the cost for return. We cancelled both reservations. yeah, you lose your deposit. So, if you're not sure about booking the next one at the resort. the discounts aren't bad for booking at the resort and you do earn loyalty points. But, we had about 4500 points from our last stay = $125 So, there you go. The way I look at it, paying over a thousand dollars a day just didn't add up for us. We can go to many nice hotels and resorts in the US for less than $500 a night. That leaves you with $700 or so dollars left (per day) over for food, drinks and excursions. You should have plenty left over. Anyway, as it turns out it's just not cost effective for the return on investment we paid. Yeah, I lost my deposits (ie $500) and I didn't even get flowers. :0) They are trying to make it special, but they lost us in Montego Bay. Good luck to you out there vacationing. :0)

Inappropriate Customer Service

My husband and I decided to cancel our trip to Jamaica due to the US issued travel advisory. (We booked May 5, the travel advisory was issued May 10). When I was in the process of canceling and the customer service representative asked why - I told him that we would like to visit another time due to the US travel advisory. He told me that the advisory only applied to certain areas and not Sandals. I told him that I realized Sandals may not have those issues, but I was more comfortable booking another time because the travel advisory applies to all of Jamaica and specifically mentions sexual assaults at all inclusive resorts. He told me to show him where the reviews of the resort were that said this. Highly inappropriate. Choosing to cancel a booking based on my home country's travel advisory (especially those mentioning sexual assaults) is not something I should have to justify. It sucks that we don't get our travel insurance back. We cancelled 3 weeks after booking. I asked to speak with a member from corporate or higher up - he said that I could not. Before ending the chat, he said "Sandals does not have sexual assault issues." Seems odd to me.

Horrible experience at Sandals Bahamas

Horrible experience at Sandals Bahamas! Do not waste your money. Property is rundown, staff is surly, food is mediocre at best. They almost sent our luggage back to the airport instead of to our room, they messed up the date of a romantic beach dinner my husband planned and paid extra for, and then tried to blame us. Management is useless at making things right. We wrote a detailed email to Customer Support 2 weeks ago and have not heard a word. From top to bottom the staff at this resort doesn't give a hoot about customer satisfaction. We wasted $8000 and will never go to another sandals again.
