Is it possible to give no stars??
We have had Salamander pumps for over 20 years to boost our poor water pressure in a sink in the garage.
We have had problems with the last 2 or 3 pumps but have never registered them for the warranty. However, having bought another pump last August we made the decision to register it for the warranty, as the previous one seized after about a year.
11 months on, this one developed a leak.
I rang Salamander, got a very nice lady - sorry, I didn't catch your name, but I'm sure you'll remember mine!
Having gone through the facts and telling her that I wasn't able to request a replacement online as their system wouldn't accept my photos, and also their online chat wasn't available - although I was contacting them in their published times, I'd resorted to calling their customer service.
It then transpired, that as we had moved , a month ago, and had dared to take the pump with us without calling them first (their warranty becomes invalid if you leave the pump for the new householder or if you even take it with you to a new address!) I asked what would've happened if I hadn't let her know that I'd moved? She said that the replacement would've been sent out to the registered address. On reflection, I should've followed their example and been dishonest - as they are with their warranty. I could've given them the previous address, as a replacement would've been redirected. But - having read through various reviews on this site, they would've still got me to jump through hoops before accepting any liability.

The said pump was bought with a credit card - so, I though ooo, claim on Section 75. But after a quick AI check, the Consumer Rights Act 2015 came up.
This instructed me to contact the retailer direct and not the manufacturer! So a call to B&Q customer service resolved the issue immediately! Who'd have thought. Within 15minutes, I was at the B&Q store, offending pump in hand, with evidence of the purchase and a full refund to my account!
AVOID THIS COMPANY LIKE THE PLAGUE!
Now, as I said the lady I spoke with in their customer service was very nice - but she is just a gate keeper.
Be savvy, firstly DON'T BUY A SALAMANDER PUMP.
Secondly, check your consumer rights.
And to the lady on customer service, I didn't have a gin & tonic, I had a large rosé :)

Had issues with my pump making an awful noise and not working properly. Spoke to Susan Haley who was very helpful and, after sending her photos, advised that the pump had some installation issues. She is sending out a new pump so hopefully all will get resolved! Very impressed with her help and customer service.

Ridiculous company to deal with after sales & avoid their warranty at all times. Had a Salamander pump installed in Dec 2022 ( with invoice from installer), registered the warranty on 4th Jan 2023. Its failed this week, so I asked for the warranty time limit, Lee from their no help desk informed me that based on the serial number the warranty expired in Oct 2022, 2 months before I installed it !! BBC Watchdog will be interested in this am sure. AVOID AVOID AVOID. Mind you they did email back after my 3rd one, & this review to say it expired Oct 25 ( not Oct 2022), not even Dec 2025 where i have proof of installation invoice. Anyway too many hoops to jump through if I bought another Salamander pump, like many other reviewers. Best pay by credit card next time ( well there won't be a next time for me)

Recently purchased a replacement Home Boost after the old one failed (I believe it was installed in 2018).

Unfortunately the newer one had developed a fault, contacted Salamander Technical Team and spoke to an Advisor by the name of Susan.

Very polite, courteous and most importantly knowledgeable.

Susan went though troubleshooting and offered me various options.

I had a really positive experience with Salamander Pumps after sending in my AquaScan unit for repair.

Katie Mills was extremely helpful, professional and quick to respond throughout the process. She clearly explained what the fault was, what had been repaired, and reassured me that the issue was very unlikely to happen again. The unit was tested, repaired and arranged to be returned very quickly, which I really appreciated.

As a plumbing and heating business, we rely on quality products and good aftercare, and this experience has given me even more confidence in Salamander Pumps.

I contacted the Salamander Pumps customer service department earlier today with a query. The company technical advisor (Susan Haley) was most knowledgable and extremely helpful with the fault diagnosis which helped me to resolve my query and resulted in a most satisfactory solution.

CT Force 30SU pump had become very noisy and was almost out of 5 Year Warranty. Spoke with Susan who dealt with my problem very efficiently, patiently and courteously and arranged for a replacement to be delivered. Also gave recommendations for improvements to system to comply with new pump warranty requirements. Very pleased with the service received.

I have spoken to Angela and Susan about my pump not working properley i had it installed in Nov so after taking several photos and doing water flow test they sais i need a replacement theyhave sorted it allout for me and i willget it in a few days very pleased with service thank you

Our pump was leaking due to an incorrectly installed pump by the plumber. I spoke to Suzanne who couldnt have been more helpful if she tried. The best customer service from start to finish. New pump arriving next week. Absolute star. Thank you Suzanne for being soooo helpful

I fitted a pump about 3 years ago that failed. It came with a 5 year warranty, however this was not registered. I spoke to Susan on the help desk and I must say I was extremely pleased with how she handled it. She got me to send pictures to show the installation. A new pump is being sent out to me!! Fantastic service. Thank you.

Had an issue with my Homeboost pump so got in contact with Salamander in Sunderland as it was under warranty and Vikkie M was my Technical Support Advisor. She was very helpful and understanding of the issue and managed to arrange a replacement pump without any hassle.

Fantastic service from Vikkie on the Pumpwise helpline. Had issues with an existing pump, which Vikkie was able to address and arranged for immediate issue of a replacement. Very impressed with her customer service skills and her detailed plumbing knowledge. Its not often i say it these days, but 'Well done!'

We are now on our 4th pump in the last 9 months. We have altered the pipework twice on their recommendation and to our cost. Finally they suggested that we need a different pump for our system, with an engineer to come out and look at it. The engineer came out with only the same pump as the original and had not been informed of the problems. The final resolution from Salamander is that a new pump will be sent, but we have to pay for the fitting etc, but as two pumps were suggested as possible solutions, no expert is available to say which pump???? I would recommend that if possible you steer clear of this company. The customer service is appalling, the pumps keep breaking down.

Had an issue with recently installed pump. Found Technical/Customer Service Team to be excellent, pleasant and patient. Downloaded pictures and videos of flow rates by WhatsApp which made process much simpler (and avoids paying for call out fee) and also spoke to installer. Issue was resolved and it’s a real credit to the brand.

I’ve now had four Salamander pumps in three years, and the reliability has dropped with each replacement. The first unit lasted two years, but subsequent pumps have failed much sooner — one overheated and failed within just two weeks of installation. The system was installed by a qualified plumber, all filters are clean, and flow rate is excellent.

The real frustration begins when you try to make a warranty claim. Salamander requires an extraordinary amount of information: photos of every angle of the hot water cylinder, pipework, pump, electrical supply, serial numbers, tank measurements, water depth, distances between components, and more. The guide literally spans sections A to O, each requiring separate photos or measurements.

For a domestic pump, this level of evidence feels disproportionate and gives the impression that the process is designed to deter claims rather than support customers.

If you value reliability and straightforward support, I’d think carefully before choosing a Salamander pump.
