Safestore - Cardiff Newport Road Omdömen 

Had to store my student daughter's belongings for a few weeks.
Tidy and very clean. Excellent advice given.
All staff members we came in contact with were brilliant. Friendly, professional and efficient. Will definitely be using again and will be recommending on the parents Facebook page for Cardiff uni students.

Justin was incredibly helpful from the first initial phone call to signing for a unit. I was glad I chose to come to this storage unit as I felt at ease and Justin was very happy to answer questions and was very informative. I also think he’s wasted as he should be a comedian. Safestore are lucky to have him as I wasn’t initially set on using this company but I was pleased with the customer service

The service at Safestore Cardiff Newport Road has always been exceptional, I stored my belongings long term before and have decided to store again on a temporary basis. And would recommend others to store here, store clean, staff are always plesant. The staff can always cater to your needs ensuring you have the right size rooms for your items and I can assure you with the service and security of this place you will not be disapointed, thank you again Safestore Newport Road

Jake at Safestore Cardiff, Newport Road, was a pleasure to deal with. He communicated well and found us the contract that suited us. He was friendly and professional.

I would recommend Safestore - the rate we agreed to was fair (I'm sure it'll jump up a bit in a year, but that's just how it works), the service from Justin and Josh was excellent and the site is well secure and well maintained. No complaints.

Lucy and the team at the Cardiff branch have been exceptionally helpful. I recently changed the size of my unit and noting was a problem. Lucy went out of her way to make sure everything was sorted for me.

Danny from Safestore was very helpful, he advised me of the costs entailed in using the premises, my options, how Safestores rooms work, security and safety and, he informed me of current discounts! He also emailed me the quotes we discussed! Very impressed and have recommended Safestore to a family member!

What a joke, I hire one of their largest storage units in Cardiff, Safestore have increased the price which is fine per year, not happy but I can swallow that, what I cannot swallow is their new terms that say they keep all funds when we give notice to leave. I have to give 2 weeks, so I am happy to pay for 2 weeks, but they want 4 weeks cost covered when I won't be in the Unit.

I have hire this unit for about a year now meaning 12k of storage in the last 10 months. If I need a new storage unit, due to these new terms, it hands down would head to Big Yellow as they provide a refund any unused time minus the notice period which is the way it should be.

Choose a different company. I was lied to about my cancellation policy I was told I needed to give one weeks notice however it is 2 weeks notice. I was charged £14 for a padlock that is worth £3 but was not given the option to use my own. Once I went In to cancel the liverpudlian that looked very shifty and who actually signed me up when I challenged him about the fact he told me a week he started to get irate saying " listen mate don't tell me how to do my job" and every time.e I spoke he rolled his eyes and huffed. He worked for Simpson for 12 years no doubt from his attitude under the ex offenders scheme. Appalling customer service. Once they have you signed up they have no interest in you. There is only one lift for what looks like a thousand units so difficult to get in and out and no use able stairs.take my advice look for some where else and if you do use these make sure you read tje small print .
Since leaving my review I have been reached out to by John Barker who I believe to be an area manager. John has been the face of the company that you would hope for trying to get to the bottom of what went wrong to ensure that it does nt happen again. 10 out of 10 for the follow up and hopefully ensuring this never happens again. When dealing with the public we have to ensure that we do not take what ever emotions we have outside of work into work and ensure that we are proffesional at all times wich I am 100% sure John is and will make sure his staff are in the future.

Just received my pro rata money back from safestore of £5.10 for a week wich is slightly confusing because my bill for the month was £51 some of that being made up of insurance for the lock up . If we take an average of 4 weeks as that is how it is billed the average to me is £12.50 so I am confused at where this £5.10 comes from. Once again feeling slightly annoyed with safestore.

Set up was fine.
Storage was clean on arrival. Got stuck in lift once. Smashed glass in communal way on way to lift for a few days.

WARNING: CHARGED AN EXTRA £100 FOR NOT GIVING TWO WEEKS NOTICE TO CLEAR SPACE. BEWARE OF SMALL PRINT - unnecessary cost which they didn't mention during any point which was very disappointing. Overall compared to competitors it is expensive. Also, only a few loading bays which was inconvenient on occasions.

Absolute horrible company!
In this day and age, with rising bills and cost of living, you would expect someone or at least companies to have some sort of compassion. You would also expect them to have good customer service and understanding, but no - not these lot.
So, after my bank screwed me over, this affected my Safestore payment, understood this is not their fault but of course it was not mine either. I immediately contacted Safestore and advised them of my issue surrounding the bank and that I had to wait for a refund to be processed, now as we know, banks are not the quickest when it comes to refunds, even when it's their error - Safestore thanked me notifying them then immediately whacked on a charge, for something that wasn't my fault. I am on a strict budget, paying for an empty storage unit as they will not let you leave early, despite a change in circumstances from when I originally needed it, I can barely afford it but I have no choice, and then they whack on further charges. To make it worse, the emails and their customer services is just absolutely disgusting. If I emailed the way they do I'd be facing disciplinary action in work. They are not the cheapest option but they were the the most convenient and at the time I took it out things were not as they are now. I asked them to waive the fee as the error was on my bank not mine, their response "well it's not ours either" then in the space of 30 minutes, I had 3 emails and 4 texts from them - they are more than fully aware I cannot pay them until the bank give me my money back for the banks error - not mine - and yet I am threatened with more charges I simply cannot afford. I feel sick! This company is adding extreme stress to my mental health. At the end of the day, I am still paying them money I am scraping by every month to keep an empty storage unit they will not let me cancel and then they go and do this. Yes, they are lovely to deal with when you first deal with them, of course they are, they want money from you, but deal with them when something goes wrong and their persona soon changes. I will never ever deal with these again and I would advise you to choose a different storage company.

Got to love their bog standard reply below - just shows they have no empathy and no customer service. Just appalling. I have paid it and yet, they just simply do not care. Cannot wait to be rid of them

On the first visit when I signed up they were very good. Answered all my questions and explained to me everything that I wanted.
Now I can see how bad they are!! Most drivers don't know how to parked their van and every day, they block the entrance( you can't take the trolley out of the bay).
The loading bays are not marked!!
The toilet is disgusting and the mess inside the lift!! Unbelievable!!
