The whole process of buying and fitting our new boiler was smooth and easy.
Diane in the office was so helpful and accommodating throughout the process, Ian explained everything well when he first visited to view the job and engineer Cam was very professional and left everything tidy and clean every night. Following a hot water cylinder tank leak attributed to its age, I found it necessary to replace my boiler. Ian, recommended by a friend, proved to be an exceptional choice. Upon visiting the property, Ian provided a competitive quote and executed the replacement with precision and excellence ( Must name here Joe, Max and Tom and their hard work. Good, smart and efficient ) . His accessibility and prompt responsiveness via email and WhatsApp further underscored his professionalism. I wholeheartedly recommend Ian's services, as he proves to be reliable and available when needed most.

Had a lot of work done with them. I will provide and honest amount. Work was done over the last few months.

1. Quote provided swiftly and was very detailed and impressive.
2. When the job started, the main plumber was shocked as there was clearly too much work for him to do, for the allocated time. He continued and then required extra help along the way.
3. The job performed was very good, can't complain about that.
4. However, there have been problems since then. I was them chanrged extra at the end due to 'extra time and work', though lots of work planned wasn't done (easier plumbing routed used), they didn't send enough people in the first place (and thus of course needed more people on the job) and ignored the hundred of smoking/tea breaks. Also, interestingly on the last day they finished 2-3 hours but they hung around and then left at 4-5pm;I assume the vehicles might be tagged by the company boss. I paid the extra money (approx.10% more) simply as I wanted the after care if required, but see below the issues.
5. Post care warranty has been non-existent;they refuse to come and deal with problems I've faced, despite calls and emails. I've found an alternative plumber to resolve these issues.
6. Please note, the boss (Ian Herbert) is a very aggressive man, and had to be warned to behave. He doesn't like to be told he is wrong unfortunately.

Be warned, my advice is to use another company or a local independent plumber. Look elsewhere.

I recently had a new gas boiler installed by Rudkin & Herbert. From start to finish, I received an excellent service from them.
My initial enquiry was followed up by a prompt visit from Ian Herbert. Ian spent a good half hour thoroughly checking the current heating system and then explaining the different options available, leaving me a booklet and written information. I was impressed by Ian's expertise, attention to detail and professionalism. I received detailed and fairly priced quotes a couple of days later.
The new boiler and wash basin taps were installed by Ed over two days. Ed was punctual, friendly and polite, and accommodating. He worked extremely hard , efficiently, and tidily and thoughtfully ensured we could use the gas cooker and had hot water the first night. Ed completed the work fully on time, ran through the new boiler instructions and left everything tidy. He was very professional and efficient - thank you very much Ed.
The communication from the office was excellent throughout.

Rudkin & Herbert fitted the boiler in our old house ten years ago and did a great job, so was an easy decision to use them again. Buying and fitting a new boiler was effortless from my point of view. Turned up to measure and quote when they said they would. Then turned up to fit new boiler when they said they would. Joe was professional, knowledgeable and personable and worked with minimum of fuss, completing the job in the time he said it would take. Thanks Joe

We had a complete renovation of our very dated bathroom. The work was done professionally and to a very high standard. Rob advised us with choosing the right materials for our bathroom space and kept in touch with us throughout the job. The team Simon, Pete, Tom, Dave Seamus and Aaron communicated with us all the time as to what the next stage would be. They always cleaned up everyday before they left, leaving us with minimal disruption to our everyday living. I would definitely recommend this company to anyone seeking to have a new bathroom

During the summer we have had a major upgrade of the old heating and hot water systems in our large Victorian house. A new gas boiler, hot water cylinder fitted in loft, 16 old radiators removed, 15 new rads fitted creating seperate downstairs and upstairs heating zones, lots of old pipework replaced including tracing and removing redundant pipes and concealing new pipes within walls and a new control system.
Ian’s quotation was competitive and extremely detailed, giving a complete cost breakdown, understanding our requirements well and giving us confidence that Rudkin & Herbert would solve the challenges of the job.
Delivery was efficient and in line with the expected timescale. The team, mostly Glen, Cameron & Max, we’re great - tidy, courteous, understanding and polite. Glen’s pipework in the boiler area is an art form ! Thank you for your excellent work. We expect to be warmer this winter !
We will not hesitate to contact Ian again when we are ready for the bathrooms phase of works. We would highly recommend the company.

I chose Rudkin & Herbert because I have some additional physical needs & as soon as you look for anything disabled friendly or services you can add a couple or few zeros to the job! Rudkin & Herbert do not specify that they’re disabled shower experts or specialists, but they definitely are! As well as “normal showers” They listened to my requirements & provided 100% what I asked for, the team that did the work: Simon, Pete & Rob were so helpful & considerate. They were asking whilst installing the walk in shower unit not in a belittling way but in a caring way that will this be ok at this height or location. They’re such a tidy workforce the saying a tidy workman is a good workman, each day after they’d finished they ensured that it was clean & the area was accessible for us. They put down some carpet protector that I can only describe as industrial cling film, this was to protect the carpets but as I’ve previously stated they’re such a clean & tidy group. The shower is show room standard! I can not recommend Rudkin & Herbert highly enough!

Wasn’t disappointed

After our old (20yr+) boiler broke it was time for a new one. We didn’t know anyone that had used Rudkin & Herbert before and after reading reviews we decided to go with them….. They didn’t disappoint. From when Ian came out and reassured us that it could be changed to when Cameron appeared on the day of works. Cameron is a credit to the company. He was always on time, polite and courteous. He laid carpet protector down on all areas that he would be working, cleaned up after himself every day and left us with water. He mostly worked on his own and had additional support pop in when they were free. Took ½ a day longer than quoted (price didn’t change) but this did not impact on the works carried out. Had an issue with our bathroom radiator after (not a fault of the installation) Paul came out the day that I rang and sorted the issue within minutes. I am now saving for a new bathroom and will not hesitate to us this company for the works.

Had three new radiators installed in our house. Cameron was great, very polite, and tidy (tidied as he went and put protective covering on the carpets), and the work is to a great standard. Explained how everything works before he left, very happy with the result!

Ian surveyed on the Monday and Jason installed on Thursday and Friday morning. Replaced a completely knackered boiler with the minimum of fuss. Very neat and tidy work with no issues whatsoever even though it wasn’t the easiest of installations. Would highly recommend.

Very pleased with new en-suite installation carried out by Paul & Nick over the last couple of weeks. Guys arrived on time and were both very friendly and excellent at their jobs. Took time to discuss with us options for layout before going ahead with the fitting. Also Minty did an excellent job of the wall and floor tiling. Staff in the office kept us informed of who was going to turn up & when throughout the process. This if the 3rd time we've used this firm and would certainly recommend them.
