Ron Skinner and Sons Omdömen 

I purchased a vehicle from Ron Skinner & Sons Cross Hands over three months ago and was told it came with a full service history, one of the key reasons I went ahead with the sale.
Despite numerous follow-ups and repeated promises that the documents would be sent, I’ve still not received anything.

What’s worse is that after weeks of delays, I was told I could contact the dealership they sourced the car from myself to get the documents, which is completely unacceptable. I didn’t buy the car from that dealer, I bought it from Ron Skinner & Sons, who made the claim and should stand by it.

This experience has been incredibly frustrating and unprofessional. I’ve been more than patient, giving them multiple chances to put it right, but there’s been no proper resolution. Based on this, I wouldn’t be buying from them again, and I’d advise others to be cautious, especially if you’re relying on promises like full service history.

Agreed a deal to exchange a 4×4 for a vauxhall combo, they offered us £6,000 for the 4x4, arranged to do the swap, turned up on Wednesday morning at Crosshands when one man came out and said he'd take the 4x4 for a test drive it'd only take 5 minutes to check it over, 30 mins later, he came back and said the 4x4 high and low gears weren't working, then someone told us it would cost £ 1400 pounds for a part plus other bits would come to over £2.000 , then the garage person said that the exchange couldn't go ahead unless they dropped the price from 6k this stopped exchange and we took the 4x4 home, worried there was something wrong next morning we took the 4x4 to a garage to have the gears checked only to be informed there was nothing wrong with the 4x4 and all high and low gears were working correctly. Very disappointed in this day and age that these practices still continue, will be taking the matter further.

Arrived with a 20 plate car in immaculate condition. Offered 9.5k by WBAC .
Skinners Superhero turned the key and said " flywheel and gearbox gone " offered me 6k !!
Took it to a garage to confirm they hadn't,
Got what it was worth in another traders.
Avoid NO HUMAN CAN CALL SUCH ISSUES BY TURNING A KEY.

Awful, unprofessional, shocking service at RW Skinner Solicitors in Burton on Trent this morning. I attended my 10.30 appointment to make a 'Will'; (arrived punctually - 10.20 arrival).
This appointment was booked well in advance, 6 to 8 weeks ago. The receptionist told me that due to a change of circumstances with a member of staff, and/or this office is due to close, they are unable to go ahead today, or at all moving forward.
My response was, "Why didn't anyone bother to contact me?". Her response was, "We didn't have your contact number".
At the time of booking the initial appointment, I offered to give the lady my contact details, but she said it wasn't necessary!
This is so unprofessional and the whole experience has been a complete waste of my time. Disgusting, amateur behaviour.

RON SKINNER HAD A BETTER COLLECTION OF CARS AND THE STAFF WERE NOT PUSHY AT ALL DAVE WAS EXCELLENT

I have purchased several cars over the years from the Tredegar branch. I purchased my daughters first car almost two years ago and for peace of mind and to remove the financial burden, I took out the Drive policy at a cost of £399. This policy provided two services in the first two years of ownership and MOT's for life. Recently I returned home from the second MOT and service and noticed the service history book hadn't been stamped (this is important for resale) and I returned to the branch and asked if they would stamp this years and the year previously in the service booklet. I was surprised to be told that the first years service wasn't carried out (take into consideration that my daughter was 17 and this was her first car) because it wasn't booked. My daughter is adamant that she booked via the telephone, a screen shot of a booking online has been sent to me, however this could have been done by a member of the team whilst on a telephone call. Given that they were FULLY aware that she had the drive policy, they didn't offer this service to her during the call. They were fully aware of the policy that she had in place to complete the MOT and now refuse to honour this. I have been declined an extension on the policy and have been offered a service at a reduced rate of £120. I feel very disappointed at their lack of customer care, it would seen they sell add on policies and hope that people don't use them. They fail to encourage customers to check that they have booked the right level of services they have paid for, that's something very quick they would be able to add into a telephone conversation. Even getting a date for an MOT is difficult and you usually need to phone to book weeks in advance. Sorry Skinners but I won't be spending my hard earned money at any of your sites in future.

Can't speak better of this place. Easy process, nice staff. Left alone to browse. Drove away same day.

Absolutely shocking 11k on a car that we had for 2 days before it over heated and they have had it for about 3 weeks, no replies from emails. Can't offer me a replacement car at the same price and no one cares. They grab your money and run. Poor service poor sales and the crapest communication you will ever come across

Bought my Nissan juke from Ron skinner crosshands, amazing service , always take my car back there for MOT and service and any repairs , Adrian who manages the garage always makes sure you’re looked after.

Bought a Peugeot after a year ad blue injector went. Year later same sort of issue. Told this time it was ad blue tank. Told it would be £750. 4 days later Told it would be £1214. They did the job picked car up paid the money drove 10 miles and same fault code appears. Now I'm told it needs a Peugeot software reset and then possible catalytic converter. Basically washing their hands of the problem. Take it to Peugeot dealer is their answer. After sales service sucks.

A hidden gem in Tredegar.... Charlotte! Absolutely brilliant service from start to finish to ensure I had my car repair completed, always returned messages, ensured the courtesy car met my needs and an absolute champ! This is my third car from Ron Skinner and I wouldn't go anywhere else. Happy to rate at 5 stars, and would recommend to anyone looking for excellent service from assisting sale, managing queries, test drive, and customer after care. Thanks ever so Charlotte.

Easy process, friendly staff. Good choice

Wouldn't waste my time again. Went to cardiff branch originally was like a ghost town. Both customers and sales staff. Able to walk into the showroom and view all cars in lot(not a great deal of choice).

Then took a trip up to Tredegar, plenty of staff who don't want to know you all clustered having a chat. Asked a couple of questions like are specific type of cars bunch together. To be told all cars are outside. Then they go back to there conversation with other staff.

Thank you to Charlotte and all the mechanics today for checking my car over as soon as I contacted them when I thought I had an oil leak. Nothing was too much trouble. They kept my car and took me to work. The after service I have received has been outstanding. Will definitely not hesitate to buy another car from them. Thank you and keep up the good work.

Adrian at the crosshands branch went above and beyond to get my car repaired and returned to me in the quickest time possible. I am so greatful to him for his support and kindness. Such a credit to the cross hands team

buying a car can be a big decision and we were given a good welcome and given good information and looked after throughout. the 1 point I would like to make to people is not to sign up for the lifeshine care, this is £300 and not worth the pack they give you. the pack and other cleaning products can be obtained much more cheaply.
