So many vehicles cleverly loaded
Ferry on time both outward and inward. Loading very efficiently carried out as ever. Food and drinks on board are plentiful and fine for a relatively short crossing.
Red Funnel is my ferry company of choice and have been using them for more than 50 years. Cancellations and breakdowns are inevitable but I have never been unable to get to the IOW.

My friend collapsed on the ferry
My friend collapsed on the ferry, with in a fraction of second first aid group came and started giving a possible procedure to minimize the risk… They were extremely professional and everything on time. They handle that critical situation in a very professional way.. I recommend this ferry

Thank you for your detailed feedback. We are truly sorry to hear that your friend collapsed while travelling with us, and we hope that they are well now. We would like to discover which crew were on hand to assist, and would greatly appreciate it if you could share details of the date and time of your crossing.
Overbooked ferry
Staff at the terminal were very polite and efficient however on loading we were told that the ferry we had booked was full and that we would have to wait for the next ferry. We received a free drink voucher. The loading man said to raise a complaint online if we wanted. On making a complaint, using the online complaint process, once again very efficient, and quick reply, that the ferry was overbooked, customer services pointed out that we had failed to get to the terminal at least 15 minutes before departure as required (which was due to the car breaking down the night before and that the RAC took over 6 hours to arrange for a 3rd party to do the repair as they did no have any RAC vehicles on the Isle of Wight at that time), and although they were not willing to refund any of the costs they offered a 25% reduction on a future crossing if booked within 6 months. I think a very fair offer by Red Funnel and would definitely continue to use them over Wightlink ferries who we found to be more expensive.

After 11 years and multiple trips per year, 1 bad member of the car deck crew means I'll be using White Link in future. The man, who I've made the profile picture, was unhelpful, rude and REALLY let's your company down.

We welcome criticism of our service and will always investigate legitimate complaints. However, creating a profile that targets an individual employee and using their photograph as a profile image crosses the line from service feedback into personal criticism.
The focus of customer feedback should be on the service provided, not on publicly identifying individual members of staff. The use of an employee's image in this context is wholly inappropriate and serves no constructive purpose in helping us understand or investigate the concerns being raised.
Given the time and effort invested in creating and verifying an account solely to publish this review, that same effort could equally have been directed towards contacting us directly and allowing us the opportunity to investigate and address the issue.
The manner in which this review has been presented detracts from the legitimacy of the concerns being raised and makes constructive engagement significantly more difficult.
We have reported the profile and image to Trustpilot and requested their removal.

Unfair deal
Me and my partner were gonna go to the Isle of Wight this next bank holiday however, we decided to go to Paris instead because not only the flight is more cheaper but accommodation there too. Unlike this ferry company thinking they can try and rip people off and accommodation at Isle of Wight a bit pricey too. Nice try

From your comments, it appears you chose not to travel with Red Funnel and instead opted for a Bank Holiday break in Paris.
Everyone is, of course, free to choose the destination that best suits their budget and travel plans. However, it is somewhat unusual to leave a review of a service that you did not actually use.

It would be nice if we had a choice?
I feel that Red Funnel is the biggest "rip off" company I have ever encountered. There can be no justification for the extortionate charges to travel or the prices of food etc.
As an example, I can purchase 3 x magnum ice creams from my suupermaket for £2.50. Red Funnel want £3.30 for ONE! shows what profit they are making.
I recently travelled on Calmac as a foot pasenger for £17 day return for a 3.5 hours (enjoyable) journey. compare this to the £25+ on Red Funnel for a 2 hours (boring) journey, travelling like sardines in a tin.
On top of this, if one were to ammend a booking to a higher cost crossing, then RF charge extra for it, yet should it be a lower cost crossing, then there is no way a person can expect a refund from them.
All they appear interested in is making as much profit as they can out of the general public who have little choice but to pay it.

Like many transport providers, we operate a demand-based pricing system which can result in our fares raising the more in demand a sailing is. We frequently run promotions, and recommend checking the special offers page of our website before booking.
Unlike CalMac, we do not receive subsidies, and our fares reflect this. While we provide the option for passengers to purchase food and drink while on board, passengers are welcome to bring their own refreshments and food on board with them.

Rude staff.
Rude staff.
I went on a trip with an elderly group, and as soon as the announcement was made asking everyone to make their way to the vehicles, we left immediately. There were queues for the lifts, which caused a slight delay, but despite this we were repeatedly rushed and shouted at to leave.
I understand that staff need to clear the area quickly to make way for the next trip, and I appreciate they have a job to do. However, there was no need for the rude and aggressive attitude. We were also waiting for someone who uses a walking stick but our veichle had been forced to move further along so they had to walk further. A little more patience and understanding, especially towards an elderly group, would have gone a long way.

Red Jet
This is for the Red Jet. Used to be a great service, once an hour in winter, and every 30 minutes in the summer. Now it is one every 70 minutes. Clearly driven more by profit than service.

Massive shout out to the guys at Red Funnel Southampton. I catch the ferry daily for work as we live on the Island and commute to Southampton. I arrived for my return ferry today to find I had a flat tyre. I was asked to pull over into a bay and
Leighton changed my tyre for me and got me onto my return ferry with three minutes to spare. I am so grateful especially as a woman who travels alone. Thank you so much.

All went according to plan
All went according to plan, boarded with no hassle, on time and disembarked having arrived on time. Had tea and some food as planned. Shame about the vaping in the forward saloon.
