Horrible driver

A driver snapped at me after I presented my card too early, a mistaken I often make due to being autistic and missing social cues. I politely challenged him for being rude and he called me "young man" in a condescending tone. I'm 31. It was such a stressful experience that it's made me want to avoid travelling by bus in this area.

Brilliant service

Im on bus 3 leopard travelling to Wokingham from Reading and the driver is polite cheerful and very helpful, not sure number of he's bus but think its 430 .... I hope your paying well and thats why your bus fares keep going up. Though if all your drivers were like him I wouldn't mind . The time is 11.45 if that helps

Helpful driver and comfortable buses

Had a very helpful driver on route 1 who advised me on which stop to get off at to get to my friends house in Calcot as I'm not from the area, even showing me a shortcut I can use from the bus stop. Very comfortable bus fleet as well.

Absolute joke!

Absolute joke!! I don’t like to complain but I got to my bus stop on time this morning. (Route 6, buckland Road junction) yet the bus was 20 mins late!! And no other other transport was available at 6am!! I have now missed my train and going to be late for work. And have to pay for another train ticket. People like me rely on these routes!! Fuxking joke

I got my pass recharge two days back…

I got my pass recharge two days back and when I popped in the bus the pass was not working I told the bus driver I recharge the pass two days back and I have the proof but the bus driver dint listed to me he said you have to purchase a ticket. So I purchased a single ticket when still yhe pass shows its ready to use .very disappointing customer service. 😑 its.been 8 years I have been using the bus pass.

Route 702 abysmal service over Christmaa

My family including a baby in a buggy walked 1mile+ to 702 Ditton Park bus stop this morning to catch 702 to meet family in Kensington High street.
We got to the bus stop in good time.
702 was coming but sign said SORRY BUS FULL...
The driver didn't stop & made a hand signal to suggest we wait for the next bus...
What does that even mean? Wait for another bus coming soon?
Or what for the next bus, 1 hour later?
What might have been nice is the driver stop & advice us of what was going on,then we can decide what to do.
Previous people waiting at the bus stop told us that was the 2nd full bus to pass..
We were so cinfused & angry about what we should do...wait for the next bus?
What a lottery.
We did wait another hour for the next bus...SAME THING!! So 3 full buses & all of us idiots waiting for a bus that was MAYBE going to let us board.
In the end, we contacted our family to say we were going back home.
What a lot of disappointment which partly could have been avoided if your website added some useful words like, 702 buses tend to be extremely full at this time of year so do consider avoiding bus in case of disappointment...
There is NOBODY we could contact to ask the simple question of how likely was it that an emptier bus would come along or was it worth is waiting.
All we coukd see was messages that Reading busses are operating a full & reliable service!
There was nothing indicating red flags or to help us make a decision to avoid this time of year.
Literally everyone at the bus stop was repeating the words about Broken Britain..
I would like to speak to someone from Reading Buses about this matter.
I have been a very loyal user but feel nervous now & quite put off using the bus as i never want to waste time like that ever again.
You have an app & website.
Let us COMMUNICATE with real people on it & make sure your updates appear on your app.
It's not a reliable service is it, if countless buses are full & we are guessing about when we might be able to board..

Unfair

How is that the driver of a 17 bus charged an old age pensioner £1 to take her dog on the bus but let on 2 druggies for free as the said you have to let us on we are not paying

I was travelling down Kentwood Hill in Tilehurst earlier & the number 18 was coming up on the other side travelling at a high speed, I had right of way as the parked cars were on the buses side. He proceeded to head towards me & I had no option but to mount the kerb/pavement just to avoid him crashing into me which was also near walls of people’s houses, I beeped & the driver wouldn’t even look at me, the time was 13.52.

It was a very scary unnecessary experience which could of resulted in a serious accident & potential injuries, it has made me so upset & I couldn’t carry on with my journey I had to go home, I had a 3 year old child in the back & the thought of what could of happened it very frightening.

I am absolutely disgusted with this, I do hope he will be spoken to, I am trying to retrieve my dash cam footage but as I had to act so quick & mount the kerb im not sure if the event was captured, if it has been then I may also report this to the Police.

Thankfully no one was walking on the pavement.

Had a lovely chat with the 33 bus…

Had a lovely chat with the 33 bus driver on the morning of friday the 28th of november between 5:50 and 6:12 am if i remember correctly her name was rebeca(im not sure as i am dyslexic and a little bit deaf) she was super sweet and made my day!!

No longer affordable

Became very expensive. No longer worth to use it. Car is cheaper which contributes to pollution, traffic and accidents. Very bad move, not environmental and social friendly.

Incompetence and bad experience

Caught the bus at Simon Lane, Wokingham and bus driver did not recognise the Wokingham Young Person fare on £2 return fare for a 6 year old, despite showing web page of special travel for school holiday. He had not been briefed and initially he wanted £4.40 return fare for the 6 year old. Exchange of wording became heated. I do not appreciate incompetence and in fairness it’s the bus company at fault for not inducting staff. Left hand not knowing what the right hand stated on website. Clearly a very disappointing experience with a 6 year old in care.

With health condition and shopping bags…

With health condition and shopping bags I had to walk from big Tesco home, becouse they had information on bus stop by white eagle pub they are ok after 5pm. Made me supper angry and blood was soaking out of my wound. Shocking service!

Bus driver on 19a from reading station…

Bus driver on 19a from reading station around 17:43 on 25th or July was quite rude, my connecting train was quite late so I had to sprint to make the bus, and there was someone in a similar situation right behind me. I managed to make it on but spent a little while trying to get my ticket up, and she was moaning at me for making her late, and drove off with the person behind me right by the doors....Only for her to wait at a bus stop idle for a couple minutes later. Left a real sour taste in my mouth. Giving 2 stars because while the bus got me from A to B, it felt like the driver didn't actually care about getting people places, when the driver for the same bus on the day prior went above and beyond and put the customers first and delayed it to get people on, as he initially saw me running and waited, then signalled me to get on from a distance as I had given up hope on catching the bus. It then turned out that there were lots who arrived at the Reading station bus stop as or just after it was meant to arrive. Perhaps it would be better to move the schedule for this bus 5 minutes later to accommodate the people who come from the reading station a little better, or ensuring that all staff have similar standards

Just a review to correct something I…

Just a review to correct something I was unhappy about the recent increase on the day ticket but it has been £4.50 for months previously and before that I think it was £4 so, at £3.50 they must have been travelling a long time ago or via a time machine. I was told this was because of withdrawal of a government grant .

Shocking fare increase

I was shocked today as I boarded the bus as the all day ticket fare went up again to £5!!
It was only few weeks ago when it was £3.5, even my wages don't go up that fast. On top of that the bus was late, and they keep asking you not to drive to work and use public transportation.

Reading buses ripping off football fans

After enjoying a great afternoon of football @ Reading fc with my son in law and my granddaughter we decided to travel on the bus for our journey home. My granddaughter was very excited to be getting on the bus, the journey was only a short one ( 2nd stop from the stadium )
The bus was the F31. For that short journey I was charged £15!! £5.50 each for myself and my son in law and £4.00 for my granddaughter all single fares just to go less than 2 miles!! What a RIP OFF

No WiFi on 702 line towards London

Hello,
Last month I contacted reading buses business regarding the faulty WiFi in the 702 bus towards London. They did reply to me saying that there is an allowed WiFi per month but I haven't been able to use the WiFi on this bus since February, and whenever I try to use it doesn't work or says you have reached the allowed WiFi, even when I had not been able to use it at all. I'm very grateful for the transport services you do, but it is quite disappointing when you advertise a service that you do not really provide.
