I chose Coombe Garage Tyres in Nailsea because of the reviews and travelled over an hour to get there. What I couldn’t have known beforehand was how much care I would receive before I even arrived.
This was my first visit, yet Ryan gave me the time and attention you might hope for from someone who has looked after your car for years.
From our very first emails, Ryan paid attention to every question I asked, answered in detail and took practical steps to help. He personally checked the tyres’ manufacturing dates, investigated the options for servicing the valves and kept me informed at every step. I wasn’t left wondering what was happening or having to chase him for answers.
What meant the most was the way he helped me make my own decisions. He explained the options, checked what could be done and gave me the information without putting me under any pressure. When I mentioned a tyre losing pressure, he looked into it and set four service kits aside so they would be available if needed — while making it clear that I could decide on the day.
None of that felt like someone simply doing the minimum required to complete a booking. He was making a genuine effort to understand what I needed and prepare for it. As a first-time customer, that made a lasting impression on me.
Ryan was off on the Saturday of my appointment, but the welcome was just as personal. I had barely parked when Danny came outside to greet me. The care I had experienced by email was there in person too.
The team carried out the work on my Lexus IS 250 in around two hours, despite having two cars ahead of mine. They were friendly, welcoming and efficient. They also checked my concern about the pressure loss and told me the tyre should no longer lose air. No valve parts needed replacing, and there was no extra charge or pressure to buy the kits that had been reserved. (My booking included four Continental AllSeasonContact 2 tyres — two 245/45R17 99Y and two 225/45R17 94Y XL, front wheel alignment, a free alignment check and a brake fluid change.)
I’m very careful about whom I trust with my car. What earned my trust here wasn’t one grand gesture, but the consistency of the whole experience: the attention to my questions, the updates, the clear choices and the respect I was shown throughout.
I drove home feeling more than satisfied with the work. I felt genuinely happy to have found a garage where I could feel this comfortable placing my trust.
Ryan, thank you for the patience, thoughtfulness and effort you put into helping someone who had never visited your garage before. Danny and the whole team, thank you for carrying that same care through on the day.
I made the journey because of other people’s reviews. I’m writing mine because I now understand them — and because service like this deserves to be recognised.
If you’re deciding whether Coombe Garage is worth the journey, it certainly was for me.
