Had about 8 million Vietnamese burning…
Had about 8 million Vietnamese burning a hole in my pocket after a month in Vietnam and needed Baht for my final week in Thailand. ProFX on Walking Street was recommended by my hotel as a reliable option for unusual currencies, and overall, I'd say they delivered a competent, if pricey, service. The positives were genuine. The staff were professional and didn't treat my like a nuisance. They quoted me a rate upfront, pointed to where it was posted (a digital board that cycles through about 30 currencies), and processed the transaction in about 15 minutes. The booth is in a prime location, open late, and felt secure with visible cameras and proper receipts. I appreciated that they handled the large stack of notes efficiently, using a counting machine rather than doing it all manually. The rate, however, stung. I calculated later that I lost about 12% compared to the mid-market rate. When I asked about the spread, the cashier politely explained that "exotic currencies require additional processing fees." The fact that they were willing to explain—and that the rate was visibly displayed before I committed—signals there is at least some effort at transparency, which I respected. But knowing the rate was bad didn't make it hurt less.So why three stars? ProFX delivered exactly what they promised: a secure, professional transaction for a difficult currency in a convenient location. They didn't surprise me with hidden fees or treat me with disrespect. But they also didn't give me anything close to a fair rate, and the 15-minute wait felt longer than it should have for a currency as common as Vietnamese in a border-adjacent city. 3 stars for reliable service with a predictable but painful rate.
Non si devono pubblicare risultati come…
Non si devono pubblicare risultati come gains se in realtà hanno preso lo stop loss! FALSI!!!
I subscribed to them
I subscribed to them, and they are completely fake. Their entries and stop losses make no sense at all, and almost 90% of trades are losses – absolutely terrible. On top of that, they lie about their win results. The trades that lose are often shown as wins, and when you call them out on it, they stop responding. Do not get involved with them – seriously, just don’t! You will waste your money.
So I went to ProFX at MBK to convert…
So I went to ProFX at MBK to convert 5,000 Philippine Pesos and it was a pretty smooth experience. The staff were efficient, no complaints about the currency, and got me sorted in about 8 minutes.
The booth is easy to find on the ground floor near the food court. The only thing was the rate, it was just okay, nothing special. I got roughly 2,900 Baht for my 5,000 PHP, which is a bit lower than what I would've gotten converting via USD first.
Overall, ProFX is fine if you're already at MBK and need it done, but if you've got time to shop around, you might find a better rate. 3 stars for solid service with average rates.
After a long trip through Cambodia
After a long trip through Cambodia, I arrived in Pattaya with a thick stack of Cambodian Riel—about 800,000 KHR (roughly $200 USD). I knew exchanging Riel outside Cambodia would be difficult, so I specifically searched for ProFX because their website advertises handling "rare Asian currencies." I'm glad I did, but the experience wasn't perfect.
The positives: ProFX absolutely delivered on their promise to handle exotic currency. The staff at the Central Festival branch didn't bat an eye at my Riel. No dramatic sighs, no suspicious glances, no disappearing into back rooms for endless consultations. The cashier simply nodded, took my stack, and began the counting process. The transaction took about 12 minutes total, which felt reasonable given the unusual currency. The air-conditioned comfort of the mall location made the wait pleasant enough. I also appreciated that they provided a detailed receipt showing the exchange rate, the total in KHR, and the final THB amount—no hidden fees mysteriously deducted after the fact. Transparency mattered to me.
The rate reality: Let's be honest—the rate for Riel is never going to be good in Thailand. I received about 6,200 Baht for my 800,000 KHR. When I did the math later, I calculated that if I had exchanged my USD for Riel in Cambodia at a fair rate, then converted the leftover Riel back through ProFX, I lost about 8-9% in the round trip. That's painful but not catastrophic. The rate was clearly posted on their board (though I had to look carefully in the "Other Asian Currencies" section), so there were no surprises.
Overall, ProFX provided a professional, no-drama service for a genuinely difficult currency. The rate wasn't great, but that's the nature of exotic currency exchange anywhere in the world. I left feeling like I'd been treated fairly, even if my wallet was lighter than I'd hoped. 4 stars for professionalism, transparency, and actually delivering on their promises.
I'll keep this brief because my…
I'll keep this brief because my patience was already thin after the experience. ProFX at Phuket Airport was the only exchange counter that openly listed Burmese Kyat on their board, so I felt I had no choice. I had about 400,000 MMK (roughly $190 USD) left from my Myanmar travels and needed Baht before heading to my hotel. The transaction was completed, which is the only reason this isn't a one-star review. But everything else about the experience was frustrating enough that I almost walked away.
The problems started immediately. The cashier took my Kyat, looked at it like it was Monopoly money, and called over a supervisor. The two of them spent 15 minutes examining every single note, comparing them to some reference book, and whispering in Thai. I felt intensely uncomfortable, like I was being silently accused of something. No one explained what they were looking for or why the scrutiny was necessary. They finally returned and quoted me a rate so low I laughed out loud—unprofessionally, I admit, but it was genuinely shocking. For 400,000 MMK, they offered 1,200 Baht. That's about $35 USD for currency worth nearly $190. When I protested, the supervisor shrugged and said, "Airport rate. Kyat very difficult. We do you favor."
I felt completely trapped. My flight had just landed, I needed local currency for a taxi, and there were no other exchanges in the immediate vicinity that accepted Kyat. I accepted the rate out of sheer necessity, but I left feeling exploited and demeaned. The entire interaction lacked the professionalism I expected from a branded chain like ProFX. The opaque rate, the judgmental handling of my money, and the condescending "favor" comment turned a simple transaction into an unpleasant memory.
On the positive side, they did complete the transaction, my Baht were genuine, and the location was convenient for arriving passengers. But convenience shouldn't come with humiliation and financial exploitation. If you're arriving at Phuket Airport with Kyat, prepare yourself for a disappointing experience. 2 stars for providing the service, deducted heavily for attitude, opacity, and predatory airport pricing.

I knew my leftover Ngultrum would be a challenge. ProFX was the third place I tried, and the only one that accepted it. Initially, I was relieved. That relief evaporated during the calculation.
The agent was friendly but clearly unfamiliar with the currency. He had to check a physical binder, then make a phone call. The entire process took 35 minutes in a nearly empty shop. The final quoted amount in Baht was laughably low. When I questioned it, the manager was called and gave me a convoluted explanation involving the Indian Rupee (which the BTN is pegged to), their "buying cost" from their supplier, and a "special order fee" because they don't hold it in inventory.
Essentially, they were buying my currency as a favor, at a price that heavily favored them. I felt I had no leverage; it was either accept their punitive rate or keep the Bhutanese notes as a bookmark. I accepted. The 2-star rating is because they did solve my problem, but in a way that felt like they were exploiting a monopoly on the solution. The combination of long wait times due to their own lack of preparation and the extortionate rate left a very sour taste. ProFX can handle the exotic, but they make you pay dearly for it, both in time and money.
I specifically sought out ProFX because…
I specifically sought out ProFX because their website lists a wide range of currencies and implies competitive rates. I had a significant amount of Sri Lankan Rupees left over and didn't want to carry them home. The experience was a lesson in how a seemingly professional operation can still leave you feeling short-changed.
The staff was courteous and didn't refuse the currency, which was a plus. However, the process immediately raised red flags. The agent didn't quote me a rate upfront but instead took my stack of LKR, spent a long time counting, then went to "consult the system." He returned with a final THB amount written on a calculator. When I asked for the applied exchange rate, he showed me a complex-looking screen with a base rate and then three separate deductions: a "Currency Handling Surcharge," a "Low Liquidity Adjustment," and a "Transaction Fee." None of these were prominently displayed on their main boards, which only show clean rates for USD, EUR, etc.
The net result was a rate about 25% worse than what a quick online calculation suggested was fair. While I appreciated that the transaction was possible, the lack of transparent, upfront pricing for exotic currencies feels predatory. You walk in expecting a posted rate and walk out realizing you agreed to a bespoke bundle of fees. ProFX provides the service but at a cost that feels more like a penalty.

Real results not hype
I joined the 1-Year Subscription after testing the free group for a few weeks, and honestly, it’s been worth it. The win rate is consistent, and their risk management strategy keeps losses small. I used to struggle with over-trading, but following their structured alerts has brought discipline to my routine. The transparency is refreshing, they post both wins and losses. Solid, trustworthy service.
A scam - don't fall for it
I was lured in by two things - first they had a credible website and pictures of their team and also they had a positive review on a website called telegram signals review.
But its an outright scam. They publish weekly results in their free channel which are absurdly good. Once you pay for VIP access, you'll find a channel with 3-5 signals every day, which are highly variable in terms of SL and TP values, and therefore R:R is highly variable, which makes their % win rate claims meaningless. I cross referenced 10 original VIP signals against their published weekly results and they were all fake, the majority of signals went on to be losers, when they claimed them as winners. I went back to their customer service channel and called them out and asked for a refund but i had been blocked. I suspect they lure you into paying, admit you to VIP channel and then block you, knowing that you will be back within a day or two to call them out.
A total scam
A total scam. After joining, you’ll find that they don’t close trades, 70% of the positions hit the stop loss, and the results they share are mostly fake. They highlight only the highest price reached without actually closing the trade, and then they stop responding. Don’t let the numbers fool you—it’s a 100% scam. The positive reviews are either fake or driven by free offers, and even their private channel has only 29 subscribers.
I joined the gold vip group based on false results
I joined the gold vip group.
The free channel looks better than vip
No explanation just signals
They dont respond to complaints
And accuracy posted is fake per week accuracy is about 10-20% 3 or 4 signals per week succeed and the rest hit stoploss.
I asked to be transfered to the forex group to see if the experience is the same. No reply
Terrible service. If you think about joining think twice
