We ordered two gender reveal cannons for our gender reveal party in July—one rose gold confetti cannon and one pink powder cannon. Unfortunately, when we set them off, the rose gold cannon was correct, but the second cannon was incorrect.
This was not just any gender reveal for us. This is our first child after going through IVF and experiencing two previous losses, so this was an incredibly meaningful and emotional moment for our family. We specifically chose the pink powder because we had a particular photo in mind for our nursery, and we were really looking forward to capturing that moment. Having the wrong product come out was extremely upsetting and took away from what was supposed to be such a special memory.
The frustrating thing about a product like this is that there is no way to check it beforehand. You have to trust that the company has filled and shipped correctly because opening or testing it would defeat the entire purpose of a one-time gender reveal product. We did exactly that—we trusted the company to send us what we ordered.
We immediately reached out and provided pictures showing what happened. Jon initially seemed to have difficulty believing us and said he couldn't understand how this could have happened because, according to him, they had been sold out of the incorrect cannon for months. Because he seemed skeptical of what we were telling him, I sent an additional video clearly showing what came out of the cannon.
He eventually responded with an apology and asked how we wanted to resolve the issue. At that point, the reveal had already happened, the moment was gone, and my wife simply wanted a refund. I explained that we had specifically wanted the powder for the nursery photo, but since we could no longer recreate that moment, a refund seemed best. He never responded.
After waiting a week, I followed up and asked for an update on the resolution. Another week has now passed, and we still have not received a response.
We understand that mistakes happen. What has been incredibly disappointing is how this was handled afterward. We provided pictures, sent additional video when our experience was questioned, explained why this was especially important to us, and clearly communicated a reasonable resolution. Instead of simply taking care of the issue, we've been left chasing them for a response.
This was supposed to be one of the most special and meaningful days of our lives, especially after everything we had gone through to get to that point. Unfortunately, receiving the wrong product and then having such poor communication afterward has made an already upsetting situation even worse.
We would have been much more understanding if the mistake had been handled with compassion, urgency, and a simple effort to make things right. Instead, we have now been waiting weeks for a response to a refund request.
For a product that is specifically purchased for a once-in-a-lifetime moment, you should be able to trust that you're receiving exactly what you ordered—and if something does go wrong, you should be able to trust that the company will stand behind its product and make it right.

The absolute BEST gender reveal canons EVER! I’m the kind that will endlessly “research” a product/type I’m looking for until I know for certain I’ve found the absolute best option for purchase…happy to say these were everything and more! All canons we spread within our little crowd/family went off at the exact same time thanks to the trigger button being so user friendly. Contents were high quality and just as desired. Made for a great little show and reveal! Not to mention, all contents were completely gone after 1 rainy day. Thank you thank you for creating such a timeless product for an unforgettable experience :)

Don’t be fooled or confused by the negative review outliers on this platform…it’s not possible that they are reviewing the same company/products and it’s obvious when comparing feedback. Another great platform for more real user reviews is on Etsy.

This golf ball was great! It was bigger than I thought it was and getting a practice ball was very helpful to calm my husband‘s nerves. I would definitely recommend this to anyone else having a gender reveal!

UPDATE: Ordered the burnout packs. They came in silver packs without any adhesive. They claimed it was the “new design” when I ordered these they were described as black packs with adhesive on them to easily stick to the tires. Not only did they try brushing it off over chat and deflect immediately that we just return them. After asking multiple times how to use the new ones properly they did provide the requested info. We will see if the performance outweighs the wildly incorrect description of the item and upfront horrible customer service. After using the product, they do “poof” but the whole experience is extremely subpar. I considered giving them two stars since they did give us a full refund which I was pretty agitated during our initial conversation and will say they ended up doing what was right. The product we used exactly as directed and even used a burnout solution that drag cars use and it still doesn’t really look that great. There was a poof and some color and then it’s gone in the blink of an eye. Not very impressed and leaving it a one star mostly because of the performance of the product. They did end up conducting business in a professional manner when all was said and done.

Never popped, send the video and a few emails requesting a refund and they never bothered to reply, messed up our gender reveal party

Unfortunately, I ordered 4 one pound bags of powder and 2 two pound bags arrived. Both my husband and I were planning to participate, but only he was able to perform the gender reveal. I reached out to the company, but have been unable to get a chat or email reply regarding a refund after immediate replies acknowledging their mistake. I’ve had to report them to the Better Business Bureau.

Comparing to other cannons we have used this was so much more intense! Highly recommend.

10/10 highly recommend! These cannons made for the perfect gender reveal! The colors and streamers were plenty and vibrant. Customer service was very helpful and delivery was very prompt with the items packaged securely.

First off, amazing customer service (I had a panic question which was answered within minutes) and quick delivery! Been to several baby reveals and I can truly say these cannons are amazing. We used the confetti, streamer and powder....definately the way to go! If you're going to do it, do it with Poof There It Is!

As keeper of the gender, I had one shot to get this right. I did lots of research to make this reveal special for my son and daughter-in-law. We ordered three powder cannons for our gender reveal, and two out of the three were duds. They just twisted but never popped. A complete disappointment.

I sent the video to the company and still have not heard back. The least they can do is offer a refund and an apology.

In all of their company’s bad reviews I see the owner reply, “we have not heard from you.” Well, Jon, I have not heard from you. And I will continue to spread my review until I get a refund.

Product is very overpriced for the quality of the item and the experience. Me and my partner weren’t able to capture any good videos or photos because the smoke disappeared in 2 seconds and there was barely any confetti. This was using two of their big cannons. To really have a big effect you’ll have to buy 4-5 of them, that’s why you dee multiple people in all their photos and videos. Very misleading and completely overpriced for what you get. Just buy it on Amazon for half the price.

We had THE BEST experience with Poof there it is! We used their powder/confetti/streamer cannons for our super secret gender reveal!! The Dr Office worked with them to tell them the gender to keep it a secret for everyone! The product arrived in perfect condition, and the explosion from all 5 cannons definitely made our reveal a moment to remember!!! We highly recommend Poof There It Is!!!!
