A good starting point.
My main issue is that schools don't teach a unit of writing in one week. It is usually built up over 3 weeks. Resource is very well written and follows a logical sequence. The slides are well presented and link well to features within the text. The subject knowledge is good. The planned activities are differentiated and there were some great thinking skills resources included, such as the diamond nine game. But I felt it trying to achieve the amount suggested over 5 days is not realistic for the majority of Year 4s. I used this planning, but padded it out and elongated it with other resources and ideas e.g I planned an extra day analysing good and bad persuasive letters, we edited another text in addition to this, we didn't try to write the letter in one day but spread this out over 3 days, I also used a differentiated task strip. I also used more video and music clips throughout the unit for further 'immersion' in the Amazon, planned two guided research days. The final published letters being sent to a relevant organisation, so children writing for a purpose and an intended audience. Overall, this was a good resource that I used to enhance my unit planning but I felt wasn't suitable as stand alone planning for a unit.

Whilst we endeavour to create planning that is ready-to-teach for most teachers, we do understand that there will never be a one-size-fits-all for the planning and teaching within schools. As we plan, we are limited to a certain number of lessons per unit to minimise costs for customers, and try our best to pick out the most important sections or learning milestones within each unit. As ex-teachers ourselves, we know that this will not always fit into a class's timetable of teaching, but aim to provide the useful resources we can, to ensure an engaging and rich unit of learning.
KS1 Planning
I have used Plan Bee off and on since they first set up their service, purchasing my first set of History planning in 2014.
Their new membership offer is excellent value for money. While deciding which topics I wanted to download after signing up for a single user membership and adding them to my cart, it soon became clear that I had already made my money back before I had even downloaded a quarter of what I needed.
The resources are interesting, well thought out and easy to use. The lessons build on prior learning and develop children's knowledge and skills throughout the unit of work.

Great lesson plan and perfect resources. I usually stay clear of pdf as I like to edit but I had no need to change anything. The planning and resources met the ks1 objectives perfectly.
