Would highly recommend their services due to fast turn around times and responses. Had an emergency leak at my apartment and needed someone asap. Called in and spoke to Ryan who made me aware of their emergency call out charge which I paid within five minutes and then the engineer arrived within the hour which was almost unreal and sorted out the issue very quickly. I called Pippo Plumbers because the temperature control on my Lusso shower was extremely stiff.
I agreed to a £95 call-out fee, which is standard. The plumber, Giuseppe, arrived on time, was polite (he even offered to take his shoes off) and then set about 'investigating' the issue. Two hours after arriving, and after much banging, he concluded that a new part was needed (without specifying/explaining what or why). And he then said the total fee was £275 for the investigation, including the call-out fee (this amount had never been mentioned before). Which seemed an awful lot of money. I signed that I was satisfied with the work carried out, but I now take that back, and I am stating for the record here that I am completely unsatisfied with the 'work' carried out and the fee. Two days later, Pippo Plumbers rang to say the cost of the new part, without labour, would be £590 plus VAT, which is the cost of the entire shower system. I was then offered a cheaper option - £256 inc VAT. Still shocked, I emailed the manufacturer. They were far more helpful and told me the problem was probably limescale on the cartridge and sent me a video to explain how to remove it and clean it in white vinegar. Took me two minutes to remove the cartridge with a spanner. But cleaning it didn't work. So Lusso sent me a new cartridge (which retails for £98, it transpires) for free because it turns out it was still under guarantee. I fitted it in about 60 seconds. And now it works perfectly. Needless to say, I won't be using Pippo Plumbers again. No explanation for what was wrong was offered, and the solutions were vague - no component descriptions were offered - and nonsensically expensive.

Guiseppe was very professional and provided good and clear communication. He was able to come to my house the next day to fix my bathroom water pressure and temperature and quickly found the replacement parts needed.

Great service. We had a severe leak in our bathroom and the company was very responsive, provided a quote in less than an hour and visited the house the next day. Giuseppe was very polite and conducted a thorough investigation. This ended up being a big job and we are hiring him again to complete the second part. Overall very happy with the service. Recommended.

I've outlined below the works he did and what he charged me, so that people do not fall into the same trap I did and get stuck overpaying for this guy. I will share this review and invoice photo on other review sites so people can see it clearly.

Do not ignore the reviews saying that he tries to rip you off. They are completely true - this plumber massively massively overcharges. He arrives at your home for a call out fee (£95) and specs out the works / costs. Without any prior knowledge of plumbing costs, what he quoted felt exorbitantly high, however, because he is in your home and you've already paid £95 for him to turn up, you feel obliged to agree and pay the rate he has suggested. I, like many others who hire a plumber, will have no benchmark knowledge for how much plumbing works should cost, so in my view, this is a pressure tactic. The plumber also waits around at the end after you've paid until you have left him a positive review, which is awkward and makes you feel pressurised. After he left, I checked with other professional plumbers who all stated that the price I was charged was ridiculously high.

Since I left the negative one star review on Google, he harassed me with calls, texts, emails and WhatsApp messages, offering to discuss. He stated in an email that he does not accept negative reviews and will attempt to take legal action against me, despite me having paid him in full. This is laughable but the threat of taking action against me is shady!

My advice to Pippo Plumbers: don't take advantage of people.

Works done:

1. Kitchen sink trap cap to be fixed or repaired. Inspect kitchen sink sealant, bowls and tap.

2. Inspect boiler pipework and repressurise boiler (boiler wasn't repressurised because he couldn't work out how to do this for my boiler).

3. Fix water leak under kitchen sink and bathroom radiator. Kitchen sink fixed by replacing sink bowl seal. Bathroom radiator fixed by tightening one bolt.

4. Three radiators repressurised by loosening and tightening bolt (20 second job for each).

Cost TOTAL: £615

Pippo Plumbers was amazing. They fixed my kitchen sink water leak quickly and I paid cheap. They come on time and I happy with overall. I recommend them Nicole

I had a leaky kitchen tap and low shower pressure in one of the showers in my tenants house and paid £95 call out fee.

Firstly, he told me I needed a whole new kitchen tap, when actually the flora valve just needed replacing, which I had to tell him. Secondly he told me I needed a new shower panel at a cost of £400.

A competent plumber would realise you just need to replace the parts and not the whole systems. Having spoken to the shower manufacturer, he told me the plumber was wrong and that I only needed to order two spare parts (as I had told him).

I then ordered the 3 spare parts myself (the flora valve and the 2 shower parts) ready for him to come fit them when they arrived.

On the next appointment he rang me before and asked me if I agreed to the call out fee of £95, which I did. Once he got to the flat, he rang me and said it would cost £580 to fit the 3 spare parts. I asked him how long it would take and he said it would take 2 hours. A plumber in London doesn’t even earn that in a day. I said I didn’t want to pay that. He then tried to offer me a ‘discount’, but having previously told me I needed new systems and trying his luck at getting nearly £600 off me, I realised this guy is incompetent and deceitful.

Despite having already been to the job and knowing exactly what parts needed fitting (and despite being a ‘qualified plumber’, I had to tell him which parts), he didn’t quote me for the job until he went there and made me say I will pay the call out charge for the second visit.

He chose not to tell me the price before he set off, because in his mind he would earn a minimum of £95 from the visit, even if I didn’t agree to the eye watering almost £600.

He sent me this text -

‘do you want me to apply a discount? Otherwise you need to pay £95 call out fees that you agreed on the recorded phone.’

So he basically tried to trick and deceive me on a recorded phone line to agree to a £95 call out fee, which is what I thought I’d be paying (or maybe £95 x 2 if he took two hours), and then turned up at the flat and asked for an eye watering amount of money.

I’ve asked for photocopies of his qualifications to see which body he passed them with and will report him to Trading Standards and Check a Trade to log this complaint like others have done that have left reviews.

Giuseppe is an excellent plumber! He quickly fixed a stubborn clog in my kitchen sink and also repaired a leak under the sink, all in no time. His work was efficient, thorough, and done to a very high standard. I couldn’t be more satisfied with the service—highly recommended!

What can I say, appointment was confirmed on the day, and an extra call when he was on his way. The job was done efficiently and have had no problem with the leaky tap since.
Would def. call again, if I had any other plumbing problems.
