I have sat the PTE Academic six times in Melbourne, Australia, investing significant time, money, and effort into coaching, practice, and professional consultation — yet I am still unable to achieve the consistent scores my Australian PR application requires.

Test 6 (original) — L:88, R:78, W:85, S:72

What concerns me most is not the difficulty of the test, but the lack of scoring consistency and transparency. My Speaking scores have ranged from 72 to 90 across six attempts with no clear pattern, despite consistent preparation throughout.
Most troublingly, after paying for a rescore on my sixth attempt, my Writing dropped 18 points — from 85 to 67 — while Speaking jumped from 72 to 90. Pearson publicly states their AI scoring is highly accurate and rarely makes errors. If that is true, how does a rescore produce an 18-point reduction in a single component? This is not a minor variance. It raises serious questions about the reliability of the scoring process.
I have sought clarification through customer support with little meaningful response. For a test that directly impacts visa applications and people's futures, test-takers deserve transparent explanations when scores shift this dramatically.
I am requesting that Pearson review my Test 6 rescore result and provide a genuine explanation.
Very disappointing experience
Very disappointing experience with Pearson VUE.
My exam was rescheduled by them, and the notification I received clearly stated that I would be able to reschedule free of charge. However, when I tried to do this through their web app, I was still required to enter my card details and pay a €40 rescheduling fee.
I also attempted to contact support twice, but the call quality was extremely poor, with significant background noise, making it nearly impossible to understand the representatives. On top of that, the support line is a paid number, meaning I would have to spend more money just to resolve an issue that was not my fault.
It’s frustrating that in 2026, something as simple as honoring a “free reschedule” cannot be implemented properly in their system.
For a service that costs around $1000, I expected a much more reliable and customer-friendly experience.
Overall, very disappointed with both the system and the support.

So bad, does not make it clear what money is spend on, bad user interface and several websites. Just really bad overall!

Man lernt daher Fehler anstatt wie es korrekt gesprochen wird im englischen. Dazu sehr irreführend aufgebaut durch Kapitelsprünge von vorne nach hinten und zurück, gerade für Anfänger einer neuen Sprache demotivierend, da hinten Wörterwissen verlangt wird welches noch nicht Lehrmittel Inhalt war, noch nicht gewusst werden kann vom Lernenden! Detailerklärungen was, warum wie gesprochen wird oder viele Basics fehlen komplett im Gegensatz zu anderen Lehrmittel Produzenten. Nicht zu empfehlen!

I am still waiting for my refund. I respectfully request that you reconsider your decision and process a full refund of the £160 fee paid for my exam. I believe the circumstances weren't a fair resolution, and I am seeking an appropriate outcome.
If this matter is not resolved within 24 hours, I will have no option but to escalate the issue further, including raising it with the relevant authorities and sharing my experience on public platforms.
I hope this can be resolved promptly and amicably.

I'm receiving phishing messages from their servers for weeks... They don't havy any abuse contact at the website, co I can't give them the details about the abusive behavior of their servers..

While taking the CPCE the test was interrupted because they said i was mumbling 😄
There was nobody in the room but me. They told me that I would have to pay another 150.00 to retake the exam...what a scam!

If I could give this program a negative…
If I could give this program a negative score- I would. Negative 10*10^(10). I need scientific notation to rate this piece of crap. I'm pre-med and had to deal with this program for the last 3 years and it has not gotten an ounce more comprehensible since the first time I used it. The most user-unfriendly program in the world. If Pearson was a person, I'd be in jail for life.
Terrible service
Terrible service. Issues signing in, even after resetting password. Requested a cancellation and was told it was past the “14 day grace period” and it was a 6 month subscription, so they couldn’t cancel it on their end, regardless of my inability to sign on to their site.
I also thought I was just paying to access a single book, not agreeing to a 6 month subscription!
Using their support links is confusing and inaccurate when trying to speak to the right department.
Definitely would not recommend this.
I know less about the subject after reading the book
The AI textbook tool is useless. When I highlight text from the textbook and ask for more information on it, especially if it is a bolded vocabulary word, I should not be met with "this is outside of the scope of your book" as a response.
Furthermore, the textbook material is not intuitive, poorly written, and minimally helpful (at best).

I ordered a book from Pearson in late Feb this year and I have still not received the book, they made multiple errors with printing, cannot provide tracking details and debited my credit card for the full amount and closed my order. I have still not received the book or even had a callback from the manager after lodging a series of complaints! They seem to be a scam?!
Total garbage
Total garbage, I always hated Pearson in my life, but this is unbelievable. I had to buy an e-book for my studies and there can be only 100 highlighted words per page. completely useless and I can't even get a refund, definitely 0/100
Pearson support was extremely bad
Pearson support was extremely frustrating. I had already paid and could log into my account, but I still could not access my course because of a linking issue on their end. Instead of actually solving the problem, support kept passing me around, and once it was clear this was a real issue that required effort, they ended the chat on me.
That is unacceptable for a paid educational service and caused unnecessary stress and delays with my coursework.
Beware of the terminology! Stuck for 6 months!

Additionally, I could not fully use the glossary for the first few weeks due to a technical glitch on THEIR end, which they kept trying to ascribe to MY end. Why believe the customer, right?
