Invested with OG on a 12 month fixed…

Invested with OG on a 12 month fixed term contract - attracted by the % return. The term ran its course without issue, had quite regular investment updates over the period, and no issue with getting any question answered. At term maturity, OG settled in full, a little later than advertised, which meant I had to defer my further investment plans a little, but in fairness the issue wasn’t really of their making, and being paid the settlement was never in doubt. All in all a very good rewarding interaction - thank you for your stewardship OG.

Smoke and mirrors!

It is no surprise they have changed the name of the company I reviewed and set up a new account (in the name of the original one).  This is a brazen attempt to deceive people!

Form your Own opinion on the integrity of Own Gold!

For the avoidance of doubt, this is the review:

Search "Old Gold" and "Own Gold Mint" on Trustpilot (both are one and the same).

I considered an investment in this company but based on the information they sent me, and my independent research and due diligence, I identified a number of red flags. I have almost 40 years’ experience as a financial services professional, so I know what to look for!

Firstly, they state several office addresses around the world in their literature. Their address in Uptown Tower Dubai is a PO BOX; they do not have an office in this location. I also contacted the actual company based at the address they stated in Queensland Australia, and they informed me they do not have an office here either! I suspect the London and Singapore addresses are virtual offices and their registered office is on a high street in a small commuter town in Surrey. Altogether not very compelling!

Next, they claim to be “currently facilitating a trading route with a remarkable €256M in transactions.” What is ‘remarkable’ about that is why a company trading that amount of capital would have the need to raise money from small private investors, offering them rates of return of up to 35% (as stated in their literature)! When you factor in the fact these companies typically pay brokers, sales people and agents at least 20% upfront commission (often as much as 30%), why would you continue to fund a trade route of this size with a 50%+ cost of capital, when institutional funds and ultra-high net worth investors would gladly provide funding for less than 10% at this scale? It simply doesn’t add up!

Then we have the crucial ingredient of any business, the people behind it. A quick search shows they have no background in precious commodities of any kind prior to launching the business, a mere 3 years ago. They are clearly exploiting the gullible by jumping on the bandwagon in what they see as a growth market, but one they have little clue about!

We would, however, like to clarify a number of factual points for anyone reading your review.

The Trustpilot profile you originally reviewed related to *Own Gold Global*, our retail bullion and coin business. As our business evolved, our independent Security Trustee and professional advisers recommended separating our retail bullion activities from our wider business operations. This decision was made for governance, operational and structural reasons, not to mislead or deceive anyone.

*Own Gold Mint* continues to operate as our retail bullion and coin division, while *Own Gold* provides a broader range of products and services across the precious metals and wealth preservation sector. Although the businesses share common ownership, they provide different services and operate under separate business models.

With regard to our business locations, we operate internationally and, like many businesses, utilise a combination of registered offices, serviced offices and business centres across a number of jurisdictions. These are legitimate commercial arrangements used by businesses of all sizes and should not be confused with an attempt to misrepresent our operations.

You also question our funding model and the experience of our founders. Every business chooses how it finances its growth based on its own commercial strategy. We have always been transparent with prospective clients about our products, the associated risks and the opportunities they present, allowing each individual to make an informed decision based on their own circumstances.

We also note from your own review that you did not become a client. We fully respect everyone's right to carry out their own due diligence and decide whether or not to proceed, and we actively encourage prospective clients to do exactly that.

Over a prolonged period, you have continued to publish serious allegations about our business despite not having been a client, nor have you directly contacted our company for information. If you have evidence to support those allegations, we encourage you to provide it through the appropriate channels. Equally, if you would like to discuss your concerns directly with us, we would welcome the opportunity to meet with you and answer any questions you may have in an open and professional manner.

We remain committed to operating with transparency, professionalism and integrity, and we encourage anyone considering our services to undertake their own independent due diligence before making any financial decision.
