Can An Honest Review Be Deemed to Be Defamatory?
I was told they would not represent me because I was too traumatised from police abuse and a malicious prosecution.
I had initial call with call enquiry team where I asked how they would manage my case and was told that constituted 'free legal advice' and refused to discuss how they manage client cases.
Then had a call-back from the Managing Director Matthew Claughton who set about gaslighting the events of the arrest, then deny that he had done that. I was clear on the facts, but he decided to still gaslight and misconstrue the events of the arrest. He then gleaned all the information about the arrest and back story, and then stated the reason he was phoning was to say they would not be able to represent me as I had been too traumatised on the previous call.
This is a law firms of snakes who have no interest in criminal defence but reabusing already traumatised individuals. They were recommended to me as a firm with good culture, and as with so many businesses turns out that is just brand BS not their actual culture.
I would not recommend this firm and quite frankly think further action needs to be taken by the SRA on this firm for what has transpired in my experience of dealings with them.
This is now twice I have had the briefest of phone contact with this firm and felt entirely revictimised, gaslighted and ended up in tears.
If a law firm claiming to have a culture of concern for clients has a 100% success rate in leaving new enquiries in tears across all calls, then I would say don't walk away from a firm like this - run.
Horrible experience.
I suspect the high number of 5 star ratings is down to them threatening those who leave poor ratings or pushing Trustpilot to delete them.
