Bad Experiences
Unfortunately, we too have had bad experiences with Nomicos Yachts. What was supposed to be a paid early check-in on Saturday noon turned into a delayed departure on Sunday due to two unresolved repairs. By Monday, we were no longer able to continue our journey because of another technical defect. The charter company denied any responsibility, kept the full deposit, and refused to provide a partial refund of the charter fee. On this basis, we cannot recommend Nomicos Yachts.

Referring to your comments regarding your charter with our sailing boat Bavaria C46 “DIMOKRITOS”, built in 2025 (brand new), from Athens, Alimos Marina for the period 09.08.2025 to 16.08.2025, we would like to give our position:
While, we recognise your dissatisfaction with your charter, we must emphasize that the damage caused cannot be blamed on us. Therefore, we do not accept your negative review in this case. It must be noted that after the damage occurred, we provided every possible support to you and your crew and handled the situation professionally.
On Monday, 11.08.2025, you informed us that you had stopped in Ermioni, Thermissia due to an issue with the boat’s steering system. On Tuesday, 12.08.2025, our technician was dispatched to Ermioni, Thermissia to assess the situation. The technician determined that the Jefa Rudder system was significantly damaged and required a replacement part. Additionally, both carbon steering wheels were also found to be seriously damaged.
As the necessary spare part was not immediately available, you remained on board “DIMOKRITOS” until Wednesday, 13.08.2025, using the vessel solely for accommodation. You departed the boat on Thursday morning, 14.08.2025. On the same day, skippers were sent to relocate the boat from Ermioni to Athens, Alimos Marina.
You indicated your belief that the steering system damage resulted from a construction fault by Jefa Steerings and attributed the damage to the twin carbon steering wheels to the emergency tiller not being suitable for its purpose as provided by Bavaria Yachtbau GmbH.
“DIMOKRITOS” and all essential equipment (sails, engine, anchor system, steering system, and hygiene) underwent inspections by Germanischer Lloyd’s in Germany and by INSB in Athens prior to charter commitments. Based on the above, we could not verify your claims regarding manufacturing faults.
To re-itterate, “DIMOKRITOS” was, at the time, a brand new boat, fresh from the shipyard and newly inspected by naval surveyors. It does not stand to reason that a steering problem existed but rather it is more likely that the damage occurred during the charter. Regardless, of who caused the damage, we provided all possible help to you and your crew and were very accommodating.

Our goal is to provide quality sailing experiences and support to our charter clients, and we address technical issues as they arise. However, when significant damages occur, we must evaluate the situation carefully.
