Do not trust these people with your money
I purchased a battery system in 2024, but it was installed incorrectly. After weeks and weeks of chasing, I got them to fix the issue. Then the system failed entirely due to a supposed "factory issue".
I have been chasing these people for 6 months to get the repairs done. They have failed to repair the system multiple times and refuse to give me a refund.
I have been forced to report them to Trading Standards. Legal action will commence soon if they fail to refund me.
Do not trust these people. Go for a more trustworthy installer.

Avoid this company!
My system is in 6 years, and has been offline for over 3 years with various issues. Twice my house has nearly burned down because of the workmanship involved. I've requested the system be removed and refunded, and NextGen have gone quiet not responding to emails.
I'm the Admin of the Irish Solar Owner's Group on FB, a community of 80k members at the time of writing - please feel free to join this group, and search for Next-Gen where you'll find my post about my system, everything that's gone wrong, and why you should never deal with this company.
I've been super patient over the lifetime of my system, allowing months to go on before any technicians called out, always being polite with the front line staff on the phones - but I paid 11k for a system that's barely functional. Right now it's offline again since nearly setting the house on fire in December, and this is almost April.
Note if you're considering going with them, they do not have technicians of their own in Ireland. They reply on techs coming over from the UK to resolve their issues which takes literally months. And if the techs have a lot of cases queued, you'll be waiting even longer.
In my ownership period I've had batteries fail and be replaced after 15 months of troubleshooting and no usage, an Eddi which was never wired correctly and I had to pay someone locally to resolve, 2 junior techs sent out to resolve a CT clamp issue who broke my distribution board and made the problem worse, 8 months of inverter outages caused by a failed firmware update, another 6 months or so of outages due to failed battery updates, and my DC breaker replaced twice, and almost set my home on fire twice.
They did as compensation drop an extra battery to the home, and replace my inverter - but it's clear that there are fundamental issues at the company such as no trained technicians that in 6 years have never been resolved.
I've never wasted so much money and wish I had gone with literally any other company.
The team on the phones are doing the best they can with what they have, but avoid avoid avoid this company if you're considering adding PV to your home.
Avoiding taking responsibility.
I had good service until I found that a screw holding a solar panel was leaking. My beam is rotten now. I emailed and was told they will discuss it with management, but to date and after me emailing again, no response. If that is the after service then avoid at all cost.

Here is my experience with them.
Their router uses a ladder and direct secure it. During my installation the ladder fell down while he was on the roof.
The electrician is not registered, the regulator conducted an audit and discovered several safety items.
The breaker used was to big and the wrong type, the cable user was to small. And there want a fused spur for the fireman switch
Despite ongoing reassurances from Jacob, Lee and Patricia. They did not file the required paperwork.
I have bought a small claims court case against them, which I won. But they are ignoring the judgement.
So do yourself a favour and avoid the stress of using NectGen Power
Terrible customer service/reliability. No showed 4 times yet holding our deposit for 5 weeks without any service
Terrible experience with this company. We’ve been given 4 installation dates and all no shows with no communication. They told us the works would be done in 2 weeks and that we needed to pay a deposit to secure this. It’s now been 5 weeks since we paid the deposit and still nothing. We are out of pocket over €4000 with nothing to show for this. When you call or email they just give you another date in 2 weeks time and no explanation for the delay or reassurance. We’re going to miss our SEAI deadline at this point
Heading into Christmas break now
Heading into Christmas break now, and still word on fixing my battery. Issue first raised at beninning of AUGUST. Yes....AUGUST and no call out, no back up, just empty promises.
If I had known that they didn't have their own technicians in Ireland and relied solely on technicians from GIVE ENERGY (another JOKE) in the UK to send theirs (which they wont do) there is no way I ever would have dealt with them. HOW can a Solar Install company not have their own Technicians on the ground.
Zero Customer service. Lots of lies
I want to install the givenergy all in one. I was initially given an install date of July 1st. Nobody arrived and nobody contacted me either to tell me they wouldn't be there or to tell me when it would be installed. I had to contact them. They apologised and rescheduled. The same thing happened again. No show, no contact, no follow up. Again I had to contact them, and was again rescheduled. The same thing happened again and again and again. I'm now on my 8th reschedule and it is now December. This company has lied to me multiple times, telling me that the battery would be installed when they knew it couldn't possibly be installed because they didn't even have the unit in stock. I will update this if its ever resolved.
Solar Panels with battery
Solar Panels with battery have been installed almost two years now. The installation went smoothly. The system is working as predicted on the sales proposal. My annual electricity bill is halved as I use a heat pump to heat my home. I am very pleased overall.

Non-existent customer service
I ordered an EV charger installation to complement my existing solar system and paid a 75% deposit. I was promised a 3-4 week installation timeframe, which I found acceptable. However, after four weeks, I received an email stating the installation would be postponed, with no new date provided.
As of today, seven weeks after the original order, and despite numerous emails and phone calls, I still haven't been given an installation date. I've requested a credit back of my €725 deposit, but this request has also been ignored. This situation is completely unacceptable, and it appears I will have to pursue legal action. I'm hoping for a meaningful response here on Trustpilot, as all other attempts to communicate with this company have failed.

Louis, Jake, and Davey from Nexgen were absolutely outstanding from start to finish. Their work ethic was second to none — grafting hard every day, staying late when needed, and never cutting corners.
Right from the beginning, they walked me through exactly what they were going to do. Their communication was clear, respectful, and consistent throughout — I was kept well-informed at every stage, which gave me real confidence in the job being done.
Their attention to detail was spot-on. Every part of the job was done to a very high standard, and they took real pride in getting everything right — no shortcuts, no rushing. They even made sure my dogs were safe, calm, and comfortable while the work was going on — which says a lot about the kind of people they are.
I trusted them completely — even leaving them with my keys while I attended meetings. They locked up for me and even posted the keys back through the door. And to top it off, they cleaned everything up afterwards, hoovering the house from top to bottom. You’d barely know work had been done, it was left so tidy.
These lads are a true credit to Nexgen — hardworking, trustworthy, professional, and genuinely kind people. Can’t recommend them enough!

Terrible customer service
Customer service is absolutely terrible. We have been assured four times since March that the paperwork for our grant would be complete. Our grant application is now running out as we continue to get empty assurances that the paperwork will be completed by Next Gen.

I'm thrilled with my solar panel and battery installation from NextGen! The ordering process was smooth, the installation was professional, and the team answered all my questions promptly. Any queries I had were addressed with care. Highly recommend their service!
Warranty doens't work
I had the panels, the inverter, and the battery installed by Next-Gen Power NI in June 2022. All was working well until the 31st of March this year. Suddenly, the battery stopped charging. I reported the problem on the next day, the 1st of April, and... nothing. An engineer attended, confirmed an inverter fault, and the system has been off for over 7 weeks. I realised their warranty has NO TIME FRAME, so that they can replace my inverter in 100 years... under the warranty. I have been ringing many times, but nothing has happened, not even a date for fixing it. I am very disappointed...

Overall happy with system
We've had the 14 panels since January 2020. Great system, saved us a packet, and now we are getting a feed-in-tariff, pays off quicker. One small issue. The dongle is not reporting back. So, if you could fix that!
