We ordered the Hartman Sahara lounge set online and it was delivered by a pallet courier company only a few days later. The Hartman packaging was so good.
The communication with the customer service at Newbank Garden Centre via the website chat line was also excellent and it was no trouble at all for them to assist me when I was unable to make the arrangements with the pallet courier company.
We are very pleased with the lounge set and it was no trouble at all putting it all together.

This has been my local garden for most of my life and I am amazed at the low reviews.
I have always found staff and service to be great having bought multiple large expensive items from them over the years.
I have just bought one of their 3m x 3m pergola off the to match my outdoor life furniture. The quality of it is first class. It came with easy instructions and I know that it will wear well with time. It came in at around £2k cheaper than other companies which were not a patch on the quality of Harbour. Highly recommend this product and Newbank Garden Centre.

Bought 2 bucket seats for summer. One of the chair legs snapped off one less than a month after use, the staff were fantastic in customer services, they couldn't have been more helpful. They had it replaced within a day..honestly did not expect them to be so good. Thank you so much!

I visited the Dobcross garden centre today and found a a fabulous range of plants. I bought a selection of trailing plants for my hanging baskets There was a great range of housewares too, all very reasonably priced.
Staff were really helpful and I didn't have to wait long at the tills. I would definitely recommend visiting this branch.

Superb range of plants and garden extras, but interaction with staff on different occasions, particularly at the check-out leaves a feeling of disappointment. Whilst not quite being surly, staff on the tills make it clear they are doing us a favour in their being there. Most recently I was rebuked for being in the wrong place in the cramped checkout area. It has gotten to the point where, despite spending hundreds of pounds on different occasions, we are taking our business elsewhere in future. Sad, but I don’t want to be chastised by someone who I’m giving money to.

The food is great and piping hot.

I chose a garden dining table and chairs for Newbank Garden Centre in Newton-le-Willows. I went into the store on Sunday morning and spoke to a member of staff who efficiently took our order and arranged for delivery the next day. No charge for delivery, unlike other places we visited. 10.30am next day the order arrived by 2 friendly delivery men who took the items through to my back garden. Excellent service, would definately use them again.

Not dog friendly as most garden centres are. If you order something to eat or drink, you have to sit outside and eat it. In minus 2 degrees, no thanks. Bents, Birkacre and many more are dog friendly. Won't be going again

Shocking experience today.
Staff not interested. 4 staff behind counter. 3 drinking and their phones. Food quite expensive. Buckets catching water and wet floors. I paid cash, which was a mistake. They didn't have enough notes and wanted to give me £4 in 20p 10p etc. She suggested I go to the garden centre to change my note ! I offered to pay by card. This wasn't possible. I sat down and 2 minutes later another member of staff came and put more change in the till. 1 Why couldn't that have happened before and 2 why couldn't one of the 3 staff go to the garden centre side and change the note, or 3 why couldn't I use my card! All the assistant did was argue with me! Also when she delivered my food, it was just thrown down ! No customer service! No sauces etc offered. The other 3 were still on phones and drinking.

I was a regular visitor for garden supplies and coffee and cake however never agaiinThe cafe manager is a disgustingly rude person no customer skills and definitely has no customer care on several occasions he has been very rude towards me and family and I have observed him being the same with others AVOID at all costs Tried to sort this out with manager Roxanne absolute waste of time very poor company

Says on the internet that this place is dog friendly. Made a special journey today and then a sign in the door said 'No dogs allowed'. So they lost a big sale and we had a wasted journey. Found a lovely garden centre that is very dog friendly not far from us. Won't be going to Newbank Royton again

Excellent customer service, extremely helpful. I would highly recommend.
After reading reviews and contacting regarding my concerns before placing an online order. I can honestly say, they were amazing. Checked stock, advised estimated delivery date. Courier company used by them excellent too. Prompt, informative and helpful when delivering.
I can honestly say my experience with them was 10/10 from start to finish.

If you’re ordering garden furniture don’t expect any communication, customer service or delivery time frame. Spent £1,200 with them. They are near impossible to get on the phone, don’t reply to emails and don’t answer contact forms on their website. Took over 3 weeks to get my item delivered despite knowing they had it in stock. However it did arrive and was a very good price. Would I use them again, probably not. Spent too much time trying to find out where my furniture was.

Called in this afternoon just before 3 pm Ordered 2 slices of cake and 2 coffees for £16.50. We had the distinction impression that they were about to close as half the staff were leaving. Our cakes arrived on the smallest of plates with them hanging over the sides therefore pieces kept falling on the table. Next a young girl came out and started sweeping the floor and between customers feet and smiling as she did it, and then went over the same areas again before leaving the debris in front of the counter. I found this totally unacceptable and will not be visiting the Royton branch again

⚠️ AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS.
Once you place your order you will be left wondering whether you will ever hear from them. Even if you call their online sales number they will never call you back. I had to give up in the end and cancel the order and ask for a refund - still haven't heard a word from them.

It's incredible that they think this is an acceptable way to do business.

What an awful experience and it's not over yet. Just dreadful.

Very poor online service. Ordered an expensive piece of garden furniture and settled on a delivery date today. Told a message would be sent to me evening before about approximate time. No message received not even a tracing service link was forwarded. Called this morning twice to advise however as usual you cannot speak to anybody at the garden centre and have no other numbers to follow up with. Had to go out for an hour and within this time a call to say will arrive in 15 minutes. When asking why I have had no communication from supplier or delivery company assistant at New bank I believe stated person in Spain. Will have to rearrange now and it’s anybody’s guess when this might be I suppose.
It’s just poor customer services. Sorry I purchased from them.

I have been going to newbank garden service for many years and was absolutely appalled how myself and my mother were treated by staff in the cafe! My mother who is elderly and unable to walk or stand for long periods was unable to get a seat while I was in the queue for the cafe or so I thought! They have changed the rules in the cafe I cannot keep up! Apparently the queue I was in was to find a table and then I would have to queue up again for food and drinks! I left the queue and went to speak to my mother we both agreed to leave the cafe. As we were leaving a very rude male member of staff shouted “have you been seated!” to which I replied “No” to me utter amazement he then said at the top of his voice “you can’t push in!” I politely replied and said “we are leaving” and headed for the exit the man turned his back on us and never apologised for his rudeness. It was clear that he was getting more and more flustered as the cafe was extremely busy but think that many other people must have left and witnessed what happened. It was extremely upsetting as my mum had been spoken to very rudely as well and we were both looking forward to enjoying lunch. The staff have absolutely no customer service whatsoever and is poorly managed. This experience has made us not want to visit the garden centre ever again. I have written written a complaint which was sent via email to newbank and no reply again no customer service!!!

Awful treatment in the cafe - not helpful and in fact they create barriers so that things do not run smoothly. Extremely poor treatment of grand parents and parents with young children. So much so that we couldn't get a jug of water to warm a ready prepared baby bottle. My daughter had to sit in the centre of the cafe and breast feed her baby ( who by this stage was crying) .We left with out eating because the staff expected us to queue with our toddler and baby and we were not allowed to settle the children first. Not child friendly at all. Would not visit again.

I am absolutely appalled at the shocking customer services from Newbank Garden Centre. I purchased very expensive garden furniture from them in August 2024. It arrived damaged. It is now Feb 25 and I've called them, e-mailed them 9 times to hasten my replacements or refund and they simply ignore me. I got an initial offer of £100 refund (for a £2000 set), which had multiple scratches, discolouration and a chip in the glass top table, but since I declined miniscule 5% refund offer, they simply ignore my e-mails. Disgusting customer service both in the delivery and the attempts to resolve my complaint.

I placed an order online for two small items that were stated to be in stock for despatch in 48 hours and, subsequently, I received an email confirming that the garden centre was processing the order and would let me know when the goods had been despatched. I made full payment, by PayPal, at the time of ordering, which was 5 January 2025.
The next day, I received a further email to notify me of a partial refund, though the amount stated was the full order value. No explanation, no apology - it appeared that they were cancelling the order but clearly could not be bothered to fulfil any reasonable expectations of customer service by letting me know what was behind their inability or unwillingness to fulfil the order.
So, whilst I did receive a refund via PayPal, that does not excuse such appalling service from the garden centre.
Will I consider them for any future purchases? I think not!
