I enquired about a Ford Transit Custom…
I enquired about a Ford Transit Custom advertised at £251.83 + VAT per month.
After speaking with Henry in the sales team, the monthly price increased to £297, and after completing the finance application it increased again to £457 per month.
I was later told this was because my business is newly established and has only been trading for a few months. I completely understand that finance is subject to status and that newer businesses may not qualify for the headline rate.
My disappointment is that this wasn’t explained from the outset. Had I been told that a newly established business was unlikely to qualify for the advertised rate, it would have saved everyone a lot of time and avoided raising expectations.
I was also told that my application would be submitted to see if a better outcome could be achieved. Unfortunately, after that I heard nothing further. I wasn’t updated or contacted with any outcome and was left to assume the matter had simply been dropped.
Overall, I found the process disappointing. The staff were polite, but I believe there needs to be much greater transparency about who is actually likely to qualify for the headline prices that are advertised, along with better communication throughout the process.

While our advertised rates are subject to finance approval and individual circumstances, including factors such as how long a business has been trading, we appreciate that this could have been explained more clearly from the outset. Setting the right expectations early is important, and we're sorry that this wasn't your experience.
We're also disappointed to hear that you didn't receive a follow-up after your application was submitted for further review. Keeping our customers informed throughout the process is something we strive for, and we apologise that our communication fell short on this occasion.
