Having purchased a used Mercedes wagon from Mr Car at Rouse Hill NSW, it became very apparent that the vehicle had not been looked at prior to sale and I fell into a huge trap. Fuel leak which cost me a tank of fuel and Mr Car refused to compensate, many many computer problems. Wheel and tyre issues. The vehicle was off the road for the first two months longer than it was on the road. Finally, after the owner of the dealership threatened me in an email to cancel my 3 year warranty if I took further action legally, I decided to take the vehicle to my usual mechanic for an inspection. The service on the vehicle was well overdue. So much so that JAX Tyres had to replace everything. The tyres which I was told by the owner of the dealership were new, were in fact only the front wheels new. The rear tyres were so worn that the wire was coming through in the centre. Also one of the wheels had not one but two dangerous cracks. The computer system was fixed. The service B was done, two new tyres replaced the old worn ones and the spare was used the replace the broken wheel while the wheel was sent away for repair. All up at a cost of over $1200.00 I now have a vehicle that is safe to drive.

I have dealt with Mr Car Sydney on more than one occasion and then I purchased couple of vehicles from them. I found the vehicles great and their advice was trustworthy. I will highly recommend every person who is planning to purchase a vehicle. You must check Mr Car Sydney in Rouse Hill.

WARNING: Selling cars that are not roadworthy and should not be sold.

We purchased a Subaru Forester from Mr Car Sydney in July 2025. Within 7 weeks, and multiple issues from the get go, an independent licensed mechanic inspected it and their first words were:

“Who sold you this car? This isn’t road legal it’s dangerous"

They then confirmed a list of major faults, including:

Brake pads completely worn

Brake discs and rotors damaged

Unsafe tyres with no safe tread

Oil leaks from the braking system

Faulty wheel alignment

Filthy air filters that haven't been changed

Windscreen wipers unusable

Air-conditioning system leaking and compressor inoperable

Mr Car insists “all the relevant checks were done” and that the vehicle was safe when sold. But how do all four tyres, brakes, discs, filters, and oil leaks appear in 7 weeks? It’s impossible.

We even hold email confirmation from Mr Car at the time of purchase stating these items had been checked. That turned out to be untrue. We asked for a report on this. This never got sent. When asked for the name and licence of the inspector who issued the Roadworthy Certificate, again they ignored us.

With no confidence in them repairing the car safely, we had to pay a trusted mechanic out of pocket just to make it road legal. We now have reports, photos, and invoices, and have lodged the matter with NSW Fair Trading.

Don’t be misled by the hundreds of glowing reviews (many from accounts with only one review). We trusted those reviews and regret it. If a licensed mechanic calls a car “dangerous,” that should tell you everything you need to know.

If you do use them ensure you, take a mechanic DO NOT PAY A DEPOSIT until you have got all the reports and ensured the car is in full working order. They are salesmen they talk themselves out of anything. DO NOT TRUST THEM WITH A BARGE POLE.
