Roosters bar. On arrival we were told its table service only, take a seat anywhere and someone will come and serve you. After nearly 20 minutes went to the bar to order and the lady at the bar was apologetic, said they're not supposed to but she did take the order for just two drinks. A further 20 minutes so far has passed and still no sign of the drinks. It shouldnt take over half an hour to get served a drink anywhere (its not exactly rammed either. Ive not seen one other order be taken outside during this entire wait. Shocking. We will not be returning. It puts a downer on what we've seen so far to be a nice hotel, but it will not be worth the price if you cant get something as simple as a drink.

While visiting Roosters (April 26,2026)to meet two friends, I was seated at our table reviewing the menu. The menu stated there was a choice of roast dinners listed on the specials board. As there was no specials information sheet visible on our table, I went to the bar to ask where the specials board was located and was directed to the relevant area. While standing there considering the available options, a female staff member wearing a black jacket approached me and asked why I was there. I explained that I was looking at the specials, It was strange because the way she spoke at me felt rude and I instantly felt uncomfortable with the interaction. She advised that there was an information sheet on the table. I explained that there had been no specials information sheet on the table otherwise I would not have needed to stand at the specials board. I returned to the table, and within approximately five minutes, another staff member placed a specials menu on the table without speaking to me  I felt the interaction was unnecessarily rude and dismissive. My understanding is that I was simply trying to access information referenced on the menu due to missing information at the table. The manner in which I was approached negatively I found unprofessional and disrespectful. I usually visit once a month to meet friends as this is central to us but have since tried Horsley Lodge Estate, which I have so far found very friendly.

I had my wedding breakfast and reception in the mill room at Morley Hayes on 30th April 2026.
From the moment I booked the package the events team have been amazing every question I had emailed them was answered promptly.
I chose the decoration package and the room looked absolutely beautiful the staff did an amazing job.
We had a set menu we had a good choice to choose from for the wedding party, we choose a choice of 2 starters.
The food was so delicious all guests commented on how good it was especially
2 of my guests who have celiac disease and they had the exact same as everyone else but gluten free, I also had gluten and Dairy free guest who had the same they couldn’t believe how tasty their food was and said they’d never tasted such delicious food especially the cheese cake.
Jane the master of ceremonies ( I think that’s what it’s called )was an absolute gem , she organised everything professionally , shes such an all round lovely person and a total credit to Morley Hayes as were all the staff just wish I remembered the waitress and waiter serving our meals so professional and lovely youngsters they too are a credit to Morley Hayes.
The evening reception was set up after the meal and it was a very quick turnaround , the tables were decorated just as lovely as daytime.
We used the DJ that the events team put in our package at the start he was really good and very reasonably priced.
The buffet in the evening was top quality and there was loads to go round I haven’t seen a buffet like that ever, the food was amazing and there was so much choice.
Had the best day and night and that that was down to all the waiting staff, kitchen staff, bar staff , events team and off course Jane who made it all relaxed and stress free and unforgettable.
The room we had for the evening stay wow it was so beautiful and a view over the golf course with a balcony to sit with cuppa in morning, breakfast in morning plenty of choice and staff very professional we loved it so much we’re booking a few days there in July as we couldn’t get a honeymoon.
If you’re looking for a wedding venue i recommend Morley Hayes 100% just give them a call you won’t regret it.

We visited Roosters bar recently, would like to say the staff are truly amazing I’d like to commend Jack, nothing was too much trouble and he’s a credit to you, the meal was delicious so thank you Morley Hayes for a wonderful evening

Eight of us enjoyed a truly exceptional Sunday lunch in The Dovecote Restaurant.
Each time we say “It can’t get any better” but somehow it does. Trying to select from such a tempting menu is the only difficulty. The food was outstanding, as was the service. Thank you for making a birthday celebration so special.

Really enjoyed our stay. Golf course is a parkland course with plenty of wildlife. Bedrooms were clean and bathrooms well appointed. Staff were all very polite and helpful. Our evening meal in Dovecut restaurant was delicious

A very wet day.
4 of us popped in for lunch.
Greeted friendly & a table straight away.
Fabulous service and Fabulous food.
Would visit again and highly recommend.

Went for a vegetarian and vegan afternoon tea. I have to say I wasn’t impressed this time, having had a previous good experience. The vegan sandwiches consisted of lettuce and tomato (so unimaginable). The scones were gritty and the cheese and egg were just plain. No relishes or garnish. The sandwiches were served separately so the cake stand looked bare. I wish I’d took a photo. It cost £60 for two people and we could have had a good quality meal for that!
It was my Daughter’s birthday treat and we both felt let down and left quite a bit of food.
Morley Hayes you can do better than that!

I was a guest at my friend's wedding. The venue was beautiful with lovely views. Jane and her staff were friendly and attentive, a credit to Morley Hayes. From the nibbles, the three course meal to the evening roast pork buffet, the food was excellent.
If there was one criticism it would be the signage when first coming to the venue. We were to meet at the stables bar, which was not mentioned on any of the signs so we went left instead of right. Not a major issue as the walk through the garden was lovely.

Friendly and well run restaurant. Fabulous lunch for 4. The MH stew is superb. We will return.

Booked The Dovecote restaurant for my Son’s birthday, everyone was very accommodating and helpful.
The food was beautiful and atmosphere just as good.
Simon and his staff were more than happy to help, regardless of being an awkward party…everyone paying separately.
Will definitely visit again to enjoy future celebrations.

Ordered the soup for starter, came out cold had to send it back,the rest of the party had finished there starter before my soup came back. Didn't even get a discount on the bill.

Amazing venue, I had my wedding here last week, the staff, food, and service was fantastic, the hotel was superb and the quality of the rooms are incredible! If you are planning a wedding, don’t look anywhere else, it’s worth every penny!

Visited for my husband’s birthday for a meal at Roosters. Excellent meal, great service and generous portion sizes.

One of the best afternoon teas I’ve ever had, in a lovely and relaxing restaurant.

Loved being able to choose our sandwiches, delicious scones and cakes all made on the premises.

All the staff were very good and Michelle our waitress was so friendly and nothing was too much trouble for her.

Loved the whole experience.

My sister and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and are planning to make a return visit.

We have just thoroughly enjoyed an Afternoon tea delivery. It was absolutely delicious and we would highly recommend. Thanks also for the Cyclamen potted plant it was much appreciated. A real Saturday afternoon treat 😁

Just been for afternoon tea for my daughter’s 16th Birthday. Fantastic, friendly service and amazing food. Nothing was too much trouble. Will definitely go back!

We have visited Morley Hayes on many occasions. This is a lovely place and never disappoints!
The staff are so attentive, friendly and welcoming. We love the Hotel and the Dovecote for special occasions and the Roosters is perfect for meeting up with Friends and Family.
Food is consistently brilliant and we always look forward to our next visit.

Great restaurant, would highly recommend.
Pleasant experience.
