New loyalty scheme creates a paywall without solving the bot issue
I have shopped with M&K Collectibles for quite some time, but their recent policy changes have made it difficult to justify staying on as a customer.
The primary issue is the new loyalty scheme, which locks access to high-demand products behind a £1,000 spend threshold. While rewarding frequent buyers makes sense in principle, the execution here misses the mark. It doesn't solve the issue with automated checkout bots. High-volume buyers and automated accounts operating under the previous system easily clear that spending target. For genuine players and collectors, it simply creates a £1,000 paywall for the privilege of competing against the exact same bots as before.
When looking to share constructive feedback, I also noticed the absence of an independent third-party review platform. All customer feedback is hosted and moderated internally on their own website, which naturally limits transparency.
Gatekeeping desirable inventory behind a four-figure requirement without fixing the underlying bot problem alienates ordinary hobbyists. I hope the team reconsiders how this scheme is structured going forward.
