Just had the most HORRIBLE interaction with this shoe company!! I've never had such POOR customer experience, nor poorer management intervention to solve my issue. I have a chain of emails stating what was wrong with my WORN shoes that were sent to me as NEW!!! I offered to keep the shoes IF the shop took 50% off and if they reimbursed me for new insoles I would have to buy before even thinking about wearing these shoes! Management would not budge. Their answer: return for a refund. Well, between shipping charges and return charges, that would eat up 25% of the cost of the shoes!! Their response to my initial complaint (sent with pictures I took as proof),about the poor condition of the shoes, the packaghing, torn and ripped box was this: "That was the last pair in your size. It was in one of our shops so people would have tried these shoes on. WE thought it best to send you this pair as they were your size, rather than send nothing." REALLY??? that is what you call catering to the customer's needs???? It's all about the profit motive with this company, nothing else. They could care less about building a solid customer base online. I will be making my experience public through one of the local television programs which focuses on companies who "fleece" their customers.

So impressed with this company. I was searching for brand shoes at a cut price. I have purchased from a few companies doing this but never received the level of service I have from McConnells Shoes.
In the, well protected, original brand packaging was a return label completely hassle free return & recorded tracked for customer protection, for my protection.
I will definitely be buying again & will choose this company first above all others.
Shoes are a risk to purchase online due to all of us having unique fitting within same size. So no hassle free returns are a huge bonus. No label printing or fussing.
Delivery cost is very fare with options for more costly faster services e.g. Next Day before 11am
My shoes were half the usual cost & are perfect in condition.

All is fine, until they supply you with faulty product. Then it's all on you to resolve. Pack it, post it, carry your own return costs etc.

Not an issue if one has had a "change of mind" but not acceptable when the goods supplied have been faulty. The inconvenience and cost of return should not be on the consumer in that circumstance.

Yes a speedy reply when I had to change the delivery address however I bought work shoes but no steel cap on them so completely useless to me…. A waste of 70 euros…. What can I say…..
That’s what happens when one buys online….. not enough spec info on items for sale especially work shoes…. Standards/ reg requirements etc.
Stuck with ghost shoes now that live in a limbo land…. Can’t wear them to work cos they are not safety shoe even though they were advertised as such and not suitable for leisure ….. one can’t win…. nope….. the little man tries to do the right thing but always looses….

I've ordered kids' shoes from here once or twice and have always been very happy with the service. Great selection. Shoes arrive as advertised and in perfect condition. The value is good, too. Would recommend.

Good range of sandals and sizes including the ones I wanted having had 3 pairs previously.
Definitely better than high street prices and the best online price I could find in my size.
Superfast Royal Mail delivery in 3 days against the quoted 3 to 5 days.
I note a review disappointed with the return process a few years ago There is now a returns label included with full easy to understand instructions.
I will be a customer next time I am looking for shoes.

I had an issue when I placed the order (my fault) but I rang customer services and the lady was very helpful and resolved my issue. So I wanted to add this review based on my positive experience.

Quick delivery and good price, but seriously sub-standard, non-customer focused process for returns. You have to contact them by email to get a returns label, they send you one that is valid for 3 days only (i.e. you have to get it to post office in that time - I couldn't), and they fail to tell you that once they send you the label, they will not send you another one. Returns window is only 14 days. This must be designed to make customers keep shoes they don't want. The pen portrait for this company is a 1950s housewife, not a full time working mum of 3 like me. Innovate or Die McConnell's shoes! I'm lucky I actually like the shoes they have forced me to buy. Others might be less fortunate. What a poor end to an otherwise positive experience.
