Du choix et des prix sympas

Le site propose pas mal de choix et des prix corrects. Les promos sont intéressantes. Envoi soigné et relativement rapide.
Un seul regret: ne pas avoir de magasin physique près de chez moi.

Sidi Insoles - Outdated product photos and disappointing customer service

I ordered replacement Sidi insoles based on the product images in the webshop. However, the items delivered were a updated version from a newer production batch, featuring a different ventilation pattern and a noticeably thicker material (2.5 mm instead of the original 2.0 mm), which directly affected the fit inside my cycling shoes.
When I contacted customer service, they confirmed that the product photos on their website were outdated. Despite acknowledging that the shop imagery did not match the delivered goods, Materiel-velo.com refused to cover the return shipping costs from Germany to France or offer a small partial refund as a gesture of goodwill, citing low margins on wear parts.
While I understand business constraints, passing the cost and inconvenience of outdated shop listings onto the buyer is poor customer service. Expecting the customer to absorb the return fees for a discrepancy caused by the merchant is not acceptable. I will not be ordering from this shop again.

Update (18.09.2026) / Response to Materiel-velo.com:

To clarify two points regarding the merchant's reply:

The measurement was taken on the brand-new delivered insoles, which measured 2.5 mm. The original Sidi factory insoles that came with my Sidi cycling shoes are 2.0 mm thick. Since I wanted to fit my other cycling shoes with the exact same 2.0 mm spec, I ordered 4 replacement insoles. The comparison was made against brand-new factory specifications, not worn-out material.

The offer for a prepaid return label was only extended after I announced a public review and after I had already put in considerable effort to sand down the brand-new insoles to 2.0 mm so they would fit.

I appreciate the late gesture, but my review reflects the complete timeline and initial customer service experience.

Hello,

The product delivered matches the one ordered. As discussed with you, the image provided by Sidi (which is still available on their website as of today) shows the product as it was before the brand’s visual identity was updated.

We have received confirmation from the brand that only the image is affected by this update. The materials used and the technical specifications remain exactly the same. Unfortunately, comparing the thickness of a worn, used pair of insoles to a new pair is not relevant in this case.

We finally offered to send you a prepaid return label. You declined this offer, indicating that you had planed or sanded down the soles to achieve the desired thickness.
