After several years of membership at the Massage Heights, Ames, Iowa, I had some health issues and was not able to use my massages for a while. They built up, and I tried to get through them, but they just kept charging every month and I couldn’t get ahead. I asked if I could put my membership on hold and they told me no, I had to cancel it, but I had 90 days to use the last of five hours of massages. I was having surgery and asked them if they could make an exception and let me use them once the surgery was finished. They assured me that would be fine. I’m now post-surgery and just called to schedule one and they have taken all five hours which is about $600 worth of massages off the books and will not return them to me. I’m just furious and disgusted. Beware.

I am very disappointed with the service I received there on January 12th. The massage therapist by the name of Ke... was so terrible, not acknowledging my deafness. She insisted on me reading her lips; I told her that I could not understand her. She, instead, relied on the phone to communicate with me. The massage itself was 39 minutes long, while it should have been 50 minutes long. After the massage, she walked out of the room and did not return to see me out. I discussed this with the receptionist, and she offered me 30 minutes of massage without any charge, pending her boss's approval. I called the place the next day, asking for the boss; the person who answered the call said that the boss was in a meeting. The boss should return my call at the end of the day, but I did not receive a call. To sum it up, the service I receiveed was terrible.

If I could give less than 1 star, I would. My son and I each had separate memberships here, and at the start, the staff were all smiles while taking our payment. I bought a 1-year package (11 sessions) after being told I could share it with a friend. In practice, this meant that if my friend used a session, the invoice went under their name, they could claim it through their insurance, and the reimbursement went straight to them — something I personally did not realize would happen, and that made the “sharing” benefit useless for me.
One time, I congratulated my therapist on a promotion, only to be told at the front desk after my massage that I owed an extra fee. The reason? The therapist had been promoted that day — even though my booking was made well before that.
From my experience, the membership policies here are unclear and can easily lead to unexpected costs. When I asked how many sessions I had left, I received no answer before my appointment. After my massage, I was told three of my remaining sessions were “on hold” because my membership term had ended, and that I could only use them if I bought another membership. I never received any reminder about my membership expiring.
My advice: if you decide to come here for the massage itself, be very clear on all the fine print first. In my case, the lack of transparency turned what could have been a positive experience into an expensive and frustrating one.

Posting this review based on my recent experience. The Lead Phoenix was unprofessional and need Customer Service training . The Therapist Holly I will no longer be requesting. I moved my membership to another location based on my experience at Cedar Park Massage Heights.

Therapist, there was NOTHING the Retreat Director Sean did to rectify the issue. I have been a member of Massage Heights for approximately two years. I have not

ever experienced any problems previously. Until one day, I requested my regular appointment with Michelle, and I was informed that she was not available, so I was scheduled with another therapist, Sarah, who was absolutely a great therapist. When I scheduled for the following month, I was told that Sarah was a Tier 2 and there was an additional fee (gratuity). Which was fine. I was informed that Sarah had left, so I was recommended the next best therapist, "Holly." I remember the first time I met Holly, I initially had a gut feeling that something was off with her. I just could not figure it out. The second time, I went ahead and asked for Holly again. I was scheduled for July 20th, at 4pm. Then, out of nowhere, I was contacted by Phoenix stating that Holly no longer wanted to service me. I asked Phoenix "why," she stated that she was not able to disclose that information. Which did not add up to me. The only two reasons are either my race or because Holly felt that I did not pay her enough extra money over her gratuity. The Retreat Director allowed this situation to occur and escalate. How do you refuse service to someone that did not do anything, and you cannot explain to the customer what they did? This type of behavior is unfortunately done to so many people. It's sad that in 2025, we are still experiencing this type of treatment. So, I moved my membership to another location because I expect to be treated with dignity and respect. Whatever Holly's issue is, it's not my problem, it's something going on internally with her. I do not recommend Massage Heights Cedar Park. I'm not sure if their management changed from the time I started my membership, but clearly there is a serious problem at this location. Kudos and MUCH appreciation to Tori (Retreat Director) at Massage Heights Mueller for stepping in to assist with my relocation and for your excellent professionalism, management and customer service.

I signed up for a membership that expired in December 2023, after which I asked if I should sign up for another one as I intended to continue getting massages for the foreseeable future. I was told at the time that I didn't need another membership as they could just move me to "month to month" with the implication that I could cancel at any time. That seemed better than being locked into a contract, so I said yes. They continued to auto-charge my card, which was fine at the time. I had previously had a membership agreement with them that I had to cancel due to Covid, and there were no real issues with doing so at the time.

However, when I asked to cancel my current appointments and auto-pay in June 2025 as I can no longer afford this service I was told that they would be enforcing the 30 day cancellation time period from the original contract, which means I will be pre-charged for at least one more massage that I'm not going to be using and am no longer covered for by my previous insurance.

No one should get a membership here. They only use them to continue charging you after you try to cancel. It is a bad deal and no one should take it.

BEWARE OF GETTING A MEMBERSHIP HERE! Therapists are great, but the customer service is terrible!!! On multiple occasions, I am being told that I have no more credits available, and they have tried to charge me for extra time after I got my massage. I have adhered to the 24-hour advanced cancelation policy when canceling or rescheduling appts; however, they don't honor their own policy. They just take your credits away. I have had 4 months of credits STOLEN by them and after I refused to pay, and Imoh the owner told the front office staff to charge my card anyway. He will not return my calls or deal with dissatisfied customer issues; he just routes the problems back around to the front desk staff with negative resolution. I have canceled my membership, but they still owe me for the monthly fees (credits) that I have paid for that they wiped out for services that I didn't receive. It's more money than I have to give them, but I hope this post will help someone else make a sound decision before dealing with Massage Heights. THEY WILL REAP WHAT THEY SOW !!!

I came in a few weeks ago for a massage. The experience was good and I chose to sign up on the spot. A couple days after my massage, as can be expected, I began to experience some discomfort, in my shoulder and neck area. It has turned into some pretty extreme pain. I was advised not to go back for further massages until the pain ceases. I called into Massage Heights yesterday morning & was told a manager would call me back. After no call today by 4 PM, I called again to cancel the contract since I cannot receive massages. Brianna, who said she is a lead, told me there’s absolutely nothing that I can do. I will be charged & the contract will remain even though I have not & will not receive services due to the injury. She spoke over me & continued to interrupt me. I asked to speak without being interrupted. She said she did not need to be told what to do and would disconnect the call. I’ve requested to speak with a manager. Unacceptable service.

This is a complete scam "franchise" that does nothing but suck money out of you. If they get your email you will get bombarded with "exciting opportunies" from "Austin". Avoid at all costs.

I received a gift card for my birthday. They gave the person who purchased it a postcard and piece of paper with 4 numbers for me to access the gift card. I show up and was told I need an appointment and a credit card? I question why I would need a credit card to use a gift card that was paid for. I request to speak to manager and was given owners email. I was told again I needed to provide a credit card. I asked 2 times where this was written and received no response. I contacted the BBB and filed a complaint and no response. I will never patronize this business or refer it to anyone.

I have been a member at Massage Heights for years!! It’s only gotten better! My therapist is very good as are the others I have tried.. its a relaxing atmosphere… don’t forget to add hot stones🙌

My issue is not with the service, but with the company policy that everyone needs to be fully aware of. Because I did not read the fine print (who does?) of the contract I lost over $1000 in pre-paid massage services.
Due to a lot of business travel, I had not been able to keep up with the massages I wanted to get, especially since it was difficult to get a booking with the better therapist I preferred. I discovered that I had paid for over 20 massages at almost $60 each, so when my credit card expired and they contacted me, I told them I'd like to catch up and use the massages I've paid for before they hit my card again. It was then that they told me that this isn't how it works. If they can't continue to hit your card, you lose all you've paid for.
This is a TERRIBLE BUSINESS PRACTICE and woefully unfair and dishonest to consumers. They took the funds from my account and I'm due the work.
Yes, I could go give them a card and try to catch up with several massages a week, but there's just no way I'll give Massage Heights another dime. Buyer beware! This is not an honest company.

While visiting League City I took my daughter and niece for foot scrubs and massages. The service was a time to remember. The girls got light massages, while I opted for deep tissue. Oh my lord, was I satisfied. It was so intense I fell into a deep sleep. I hate I can’t remember the therapist name because her hand should be praised. Best part of my trip 😉

I just came out of the most amazing massage about an hour ago. I had been having some leg pain and a little anxiety maybe related to each other. So I go in to try someone new and he says right off I’m a little different I combine 3 methods. Still don’t know what those are because when I asked he said his hands, wrists, and arms with a smile in his voice which I translated it’s an ancient Chinese secret:). Anyway mystery aside my knee feels great and I feel stablized in mind body and spirit! I’m a card carrying happy member!
