Business Update - Covid-19

The Coronavirus Pandemic has severely affected the air travel industry and airports are only just beginning to see a return of passengers. Our stores are open and staffed to cover the key operational hours only and are not yet back to pre-pandemic staffing levels. It may take us slightly longer to deal with enquiries but rest assured, we will always handle your enquiry to the best of our abilities and in the most timely manner possible.

Poor service and extensive delay posting item back ! Ref- 690773

I am very disappointed with the service provided by Luggage Point. My Samsung earbuds which I forgot on 1st Apr 2026 on the plane,

I Paid luggage point and I paid the postage fee on 4 April 2026 to have them returned to me. However, the item was not actually posted until 21 April 2026, which is an unacceptable delay.

The excuse was given after so many email. The luggage point waiting for the courier to come and collect the item.

I paid GBP23.50 for the retrieval of my item. I felt its very expensive charges for postage. Especially luggage point used DHL small parcel service which is maximum around GBP4.5.

Communication and handling of the process were poor, especially considering I had already made payment promptly. I expected a much quicker turnaround for returning a lost personal item. The delay caused unnecessary inconvenience and frustration.

Thank you for your review. I am sorry to read that you were unhappy with both the turnaround time and the communication in relation to your item.

I do understand why the delay frustrated you, particularly after payment had been made promptly. Once a customer has paid, it is entirely reasonable for them to expect the return process to move forward without unnecessary hold-up. On the information you have provided, I can appreciate why the experience fell below your expectations.

That said, I do need to clarify that the ÂŁ23.50 paid is not normally just a postage fee. It covered the wider lost property return service, including the lost property handling charge, administration, storage, packaging, matching the item to the correct record, and arranging dispatch, as well as the courier cost itself. It would therefore not be accurate to compare the full fee directly to the price of a basic parcel shipment alone.

Even so, where there has been a delay in dispatch or communication, I fully accept that the overall service can feel poorer value from the customer’s perspective, and I understand why that has caused frustration in your case.

Thank you for including your reference number. We will review this matter under Ref 690773 also investigating with DHL the failed collection and, if you would like to contact us directly, we will be happy to look into the timeline in more detail.

Excellent Service

Having lost my keys, I emailed and asked if they'd been found. Evie at Luggage Point was very helpful, let me know they had them and arranged to have them couriered to me. All very pleasant, quick and efficient.

Frustrated and feel like I’ve been ripped off

Had items confiscated at Luton and was offered the option of having them mailed to me which obviously I took as the items were gifts. I was given to understand it was a straightforward process. And to be fair I received the quote (totally absurd £24 to post 3 small items within the UK) within 3days and I duly paid. Took a further 3 weeks to be told I had to complete paperwork. One portion was online and contained no directions (who would the sender be? Was I supposed to know) but the second form was locked to editing so didn’t allow me to enter information. Lacking the appropriate equipment to print the form, fill it in and upload it completed, I failed to see how this would work. So at the moment I am down £24 to this company, frustrated and with no end in sight after 5weeks. Surely you can simplify the process and make both forms available for completion online?

Thank you for your review. I am sorry to read how frustrating this has been for you, particularly after making payment promptly and then finding the process had become more complicated and drawn out than you had been led to expect.

I can completely understand why, from your point of view, this felt far from straightforward. Where additional paperwork is required, that should be made clear as early as possible, and the instructions and forms themselves should be easy to complete. If that did not happen here, I can appreciate why you have been left disappointed.

I should also clarify that the charge was not simply for postage alone. It covered the wider Mail It On process, including handling of the surrendered items, administration, storage, packaging, processing and arranging return, in addition to the courier element. That said, I do recognise that where the process is delayed or made more difficult than it should be, the overall charge can understandably feel poor value.

In some cases, depending on the nature of the items being returned, additional paperwork may be required before dispatch can take place. However, that does not remove the need for the process to be explained properly and for the documentation to be accessible and workable for customers.

We do take your point on board regarding simplification of the forms and making the process easier to complete online. If you contact us directly with your reference details, we will be happy to look into the position of your case and try to help move matters forward.

Had to leave a multitool at airport


Had to leave a multitool at airport security and was given a reference number. I was told it would be £18+ to get it back!! Ridiculously expensive for postage (£8 as part of this £18 fee) for such a tiny thing. Otherwise I'd have paid the fee and got it back!! 😡

Thank you for your review, Rory. I completely understand why the fee felt frustrating, particularly for a small item such as a multitool.

The postage itself is only one part of the total charge. The service also covers the collection and secure handling of restricted items, administration, packaging, storage, matching the item to the correct passenger reference, and arranging the return through an approved process. That said, we do appreciate that for lower-value or lower-sentiment items, the cost of recovering them will not always feel worthwhile.

Mail It On exists as an optional service for passengers who would otherwise have to leave prohibited items behind at security, but we do understand that it will not be the right option in every case.

Excellent service from luggage point

I would like to thank luggage point at Edinburgh airport for the great service I received recently.
Lesley and all the staff were fantastic.
They were so helpful and friendly.
From start to finish the attention I recived was first class, after I left my jacket on a flight from Krakow to Edinburgh. I actually thought I would never see it again.
Nowadays most companies are a nightmare to deal with online , so it was very uplifting to receive great communication and attention....
And I got my jacket back !!

Closed at out drop off time and had to wait for them to open.

Booked our case in at 9.30am (opening times 9am-6pm). Don't deserve their one star. Apparently their head office updated it a week ago but no mention on website or anywhere else and site allowed us to book at 9.30am.

Very helpful service

Very helpful service. Lost my passport and a good samaritan handed it to the luggage point, wrote them an email and they confirmed they have it and came to pick it up before 14 days

Great Personal Service

I was greatly assisted by Iain in the Glasgow Airport office of Luggage Point in tracking down and then delivering my beloved AirPods.

He was extremely courteous, informative and patient with my requests for information, including detailed postal options, and I received the AirPods soon afterwards. So, this actually turned a very annoying and frustrating experience into a pleasant and even uplifting one. Much appreciated.

Luggage Point were absolutel wonderful

Luggage Point were absolutely wonderful. I had left my medical bag on board the plane with vital medical equipment in it, so I was in full panic mode, I was beside myself. Once I had found the email, and contacted them explaing everything, all was absolutely fine. Evie, and Julie were great, very reassuring, and explaining everything. I even had a phone call to say my bag was on its way today, and it arrived a little later. I can't tell you how relieved I am, and so grateful to everyone at Luggage Point. 💝

Same day return


On arriving home from our trip I called to report a left brief case (in gent’s toilet) at the luggage return). I received a return call about an hour later and told I could pick up the briefcase at my convenience. Because it was a same day return there would be no charge! Morag and her colleague were helpful, polite and extremely efficient and professional.

Thank You for Restoring My Faith!

I accidentally left my purse at the airport on departure and was understandably very worried. Within a short time, it was listed on the Lost & Found site and I was able to complete the online form. I received an immediate response, which instantly lifted a huge weight off my shoulders.

Iain was friendly, polite, responsive and professional throughout. The service from start to finish was excellent, and I’m incredibly grateful to have my purse safely returned.

Amazing Service

I managed to leave behind a watch with high sentimental value at Glasgow Airport yesterday and only realised it when I was on board the flight. We immediately called Luggage Point at Glasgow Airport and Iain immediately went to the security area but could not retrieve it at that point. However this morning we went to that airport and he had it for us and I am absolutely delighted.
Thank you so much for being so diligent and caring about something that has not much value but is precious to me. Thank you Iain and the team at Luggage Point at Glasgow Airport.

Lost iPhone

Discovered my husband hand lost his phone after late night return to Edinburgh airport. Called this morning and spoke to a lovely lady named Julie and who told me it unfortunately hadn’t been handed in at the time but took all my details and gave me information to check online later in the day. Within half an hour I had a call back to say phone had been found and we could go collect it. Cannot ask for better service.

Fantastic service from Luggage Point at Birmingham Airport who handle lost items on planes or in airport

I had an EasyJet flight back from Sharm el Sheikh yesterday where unfortunately I left a shoulder bag containing very valuable items such as an IPad, iPods, hearing aids and personal items. EasyJet were no help in locating the bag at Birmingham airport but advised me to contact Luggage Point by email which I did at 2 am! I received a reply at 9.0 am that morning from Evie which allowed me to provide her over numerous emails a screenshot of my IPods from “Find my Phone “ from Apple showing the bag was still on the plane at the stand having arrived at 11.30pm.
She had someone retrieve the bag and I arrived at her Luggage Point kiosk in the main terminal just as she was checking the bag. Her team and she herself had worked wonders in retrieving such an important item for me.
Unbelievable service by her and her team.
Any items not of lost luggage but left at the airport or on a plane - go to them. EasyJet are hopeless as they only respond online

I am trying to contact Birmingham


I am trying to contact Birmingham Luggage point to enquire about my item I have been told (by the airline) is in their possession. I am trying to arrange collection and need to know the cost and where / how to retrieve the item and when the desk is open. I'd like to confirm they have the item before setting out as I've only heard from the airline so far. however the phone line (03302230893) menu options 1, 1, 3 to speak to the correct person rings off after 1 minute everytime. I have tried repeatedly (26 times this morning) and had no answer. At one point 5 or 6 calls were dropped after just 1 ring, which suggests someone on the other line was purposely hanging up. Very disappointed and now face driving to the airport with no info and a possible wasted journey to the airport to retrieve my item.

Julie Fenwick has been exceptionally


Julie Fenwick has been exceptionally excellent at her customer service and has resolved my issue effortlessly. My daughter who had a wheelchair assistance was been treated properly at the airport and in panic and haste and left her Electronics Bag at Security. I am Harshala's mother and was not happy with the treatment she recd by the Ground staff. Sitting in India, there was so much i could do. But when i called luggage-point, Julie managed to find everything for me. She was God sent Angel who solved everything effortlessly for me. She is the Right girl for customer service who simply turns frowns into Smiles. A Big 'Thank you' to Julie.
Pls celebrate this. You have a beautiful caring compassionate kind staff on board who understands.
