Extremely Disappointed – Swimsuit Faded After Just One Holiday
I was thrilled to purchase a beautiful pink swimsuit from Lido-Lido via Farfetch. However, after just a two-week holiday in Cape Verde, the swimsuit faded significantly — but only in the areas exposed to the sun. I wore a swim skirt, and the bottom half of the suit, which was exposed to pool and seawater, remained unfaded. This clearly points to sun damage, not chemical exposure, as the cause.
When I contacted Farfetch, they refused a refund, claiming it was “normal wear and tear.” I’ve owned swimsuits and bikinis for decades, worn under the same conditions, and never had one fade (at all) — especially after such a short period of use.
Both Farfetch and Lido-Lido blamed the pool and sea chemicals, which is illogical given that the submerged areas remained pristine. I then contacted the European Consumer Centre Ireland, which reached out to Lido-Lido to resolve the issue amicably — and received no response.
Now I’m left with no choice but to pursue this through the European Small Claims Court. It’s appalling that luxury retailers and brands behave this way, especially when the product clearly failed to meet basic quality standards.
