I'm glad to see people actually got to use the app. I've tried to logon numerous times with no success. Having been informed that I need to rest my password, I'v tried that numerous times too. The email rsponse to change my password comes in hours after I've applied and every time the reponse has been that the request has expired...customer service has been awful. I've been told to reset the password and I'm back on the cycle. Frankly I think I've blown my money.

I bought this app specifically for the AI Tutor feature where you could create custom conversations on any topic for 5/10/15 minutes - but it's completely gone now!
The app has multiple critical bugs: incorrect word translations, exercises with translation options mixing several languages together, and broken tasks. These issues make learning frustrating and unreliable.
The app feels very unfinished and unpolished. Worse, developers are removing the best features that made me purchase it in the first place. Can't recommend until these problems are fixed. Requesting a refund.

Vom Grundprinzip super, aber tatsächlich bei den personalisierten Übungen viele komische Bugs. Kündigung des Abos war nur ein Klick, absolut problemlos. Das Üben macht Spaß.

Diese App ist voll von Fehlern und letztendlich unbrauchbar. Da kannst du gleich mit dem kostenlosen ChatGPT oder Gemini trainieren.

I'm learning German, and let me tell you something – it's not fun 😢 Langotalk made it fun (or at least more fun).

Tried to take them up on the offer of a free trial. There is no free trial, they tried to take money off my credit card although it clearly stated that I would not be charged until the trial ended. Ao sacked them and moved on 🤷

I went through one lesson which just gave me a sentence in Italian, then just sat there. No prompting or help.
Since then I can't even login! It just goes around in a circle telling me my details are incorrect! Waste of money.

The mic couldn’t pick up what I was saying. I unsubscribed and asked for a refund. of €36. They wrote back that they had unsubscribed me and everything was fine. Then they charged me for a year’s’premium’ subscription €89!!! I emailed them again and they said they could do nothing because refunds were issued only for purchases made through their website !?!?!?! FRAUDULENT Don’t touch this.

Ich hatte mich bei langotalk für den 7-tägigen Probelauf angemeldet, musste dafür die Kreditkartennummer angeben. Nach fünf Tagen Probelauf hatte ich per Email gekündigt.
Die Kündigung kam angeblich nicht an. Das Geld für ein Jahresabo wurde eingezogen. Auf weitere Emails wurde (bis jetzt?) nicht reagiert. Vorsicht Falle!!

I signed up for Langotalk with the hope of improving my Japanese writing and speaking skills. Initially, the app was quite motivating, especially with the streak feature that kept me engaged for three months. However, everything changed when the user interface was updated, and to my dismay, all my progress was lost. This was incredibly frustrating and led me to stop using the app altogether.

The new interface was not only unappealing but I also felt that the conversations became less natural, which was a significant drawback for me. I found myself disappointed, as I had high expectations for a language-learning app.

To make matters worse, I struggled to find any information on how to unsubscribe. I kept reminding myself to do so, but the lack of clear instructions was frustrating. Eventually, I noticed a suspicious withdrawal from my PayPal account, which turned out to be from Langotalk. They failed to notify me about the upcoming renewal of my subscription, which felt deceptive.

When I attempted to dispute the charge through PayPal, I discovered that it didn't fall under their warranty. While Langotalk did cancel my membership after the dispute, I was still left with the bill for the year. This experience has shown me that Langotalk is not customer-friendly, and I cannot recommend it to anyone looking to learn a language.

If you're considering language learning with AI, I suggest looking into Duck.ai for better privacy and user experience, or exploring other free solutions that are more transparent and user-oriented.

If you’re thinking of signing up for Langotalk, don’t. This app is a textbook example of predatory design — making it as hard as possible to unsubscribe. Unlike any decent service where you can cancel in-app with a single click, Langotalk sends you on a ridiculous scavenger hunt through old emails and obscure payment processors just to stop being billed.

This is not a “quirk.” It’s deliberate. It’s shady. And in some places, it’s flat-out illegal. The company clearly values squeezing every last cent out of you over treating users with basic respect.

If a business has confidence in its product, it doesn’t have to hide the exit door. Langotalk? They’ve nailed the digital equivalent of locking you in the store and making you beg for the key.

Avoid this app at all costs.

Scam, they dont answer, no customer service whatsoever, no place to cancel or stop a trial and even after that

Langotalk is a great addition to the other more writing-based language app that I use. there is nothing like having a conversation with another ... entity ... to make you drag those words and phrases out of your brain. The AI conversations are in a variety of voices and personalities, and listen SO WELL to your responses, picking up the big or small errors you make, and gently correcting them. I really find this app useful!

This is potentially a wonderful system, ideal to improve French conversation, but after just a couple of minutes it stalls and has to be restarted. I've tried at various times of day, but it does this repeatedly. I tried accessing the "contact us" system but it needed so much information about me, and had so many hoops to jump through, before I could actually try to contact anyone, I gave up.

I used the app for Chinese. Here are some issues:

Firstly, the bot can't really tell if your speech has mistakes (pronounciation or grammatical) or not and will totally misinterpret what you are trying to say. This results in the conversation no longer making sense.

Secondly, the bot will use words that are inappropriate for the learner's level, because it doesn't align to known standards, like HSK. Some words are too advanced for the learner.

Thirdly, the bot tends to talks pretty fast and there's no way to change it. It talks at a native speaker's speed which can be difficult for beginners to understand.

Finally, there's no way to manage your subscription from the website. You need to go to an external service to do it. This isn't communicated at all.

Before Langotalk, I would freeze when speaking Spanish because my brain was too slow. Now, after a few weeks of practice, I can actually think in Spanish while I speak. My responses are faster, my sentences flow better, and I don't panic when someone talks to me anymore. It's working!

I used do language exchanges, but they were hit or miss-sometimes awkward, sometimes unhelpful. Langotalk gives me the same experience without the stress. The Al is always there, always helpful, and always crorrecting me in a way that actually makes sense. 100% recommend.

In class, I barely get to speak. Langotalk is all conversation. I get instant corrections, actual feedback, and a review of my mistakes so I don't repeat them. My professor even noticed my improvement. If you're in school learning a language, usa this.

Something is really off with subscriptions when it comes to Langotalk (i subscribed via website, with apple). There was no track, no proof of any payment. I signed up, started my free trial (couldn't use the site or even look at it before choosing the free trial+one year subscription option) and then after few days i've learned that the only way to cancel the subscription is via confirmation of the payment WHICH I DIDNT RECEIVE. So basically there was no way to cancel it, there is nothing in the settings regarding subscription which is already shady, it seems like they want you to just give up on trying (it's kind of a fun game: try to not lose your 80$ or more. time to solve this puzzle: 7 days, most people will start on the last day). Contacting them via email (reply time is 24-48h so not that bad) lacks specific information, you still don't know whats happening, it took me 7 hours of sending mails before we solved the problem. Somehow my subscription got cancelled itself so I am lucky I won the game. They use Paddle for payments and there was a problem on their side too. Still don't know what happened. Not really my favorite way to spend time. I encourage everyone to try alternatives since every other platform that I know of has just a simple button "cancel the subscription" and clear instructions. I advise to not support companies of this kind, as they probably want you to have a hard time figuring how to cancel, to get some extra money if you fail to do so.

At first sight it seemed to work quite properly in terms of conversation. So I decided on the special offer life time subsciption. In the course of using the tool more deeply it turned out that it has surprising weaknesses (e.g. my clearly spoken Dutch was often texted as complete nonsense miles away from what I said, also AI answers were sometimes repetitive and / or not very conclusive). Then I suddenly was cut off my paid full access after successfully logging in and all my trials to regain it failed (nothing happened or I was referred to a service bot which was lost). So I complained via Paypal buyers protection (luckily I payed this way) and got a refund at short notice. This was the only bright experience after all :)
