The team, teachers and curriculum are epic.

Love K12! Pulled my son from brick and mortar in 3rd grade due to some issues that were not being resolved. K12 has made a huge difference for him. He’s moving onto 6th this coming school year and I truly believe the curriculum is better than what he was receiving in brick and mortar.

Very good school

We love the extensive curriculum, the wonderful teachers, and the mild flexibility. The technology change this year have been a little confusing and we lost a good system that wasn't broke. But even with that being said the technology is easy to use and follow.

Pros : For a cost effective home school option it's sufficient. The content I think is average. They give you all the supplies and if you need computers they will provide it.

Cons : communication and organization is poor. It came to the point that I couldn't afford to traditionally home school for my kids. I couldn't afford the entire curriculum, so in desperation I decided to try an online charter school. It was sufficient but like any public school district they very weary about kids coming into the program that have had traditional home schooling. I enrolled my children in February for the next coming year one of my children was to go into 1st grade as I completed a Kindergarten home school curriculum from Sonlight ( a well known expensive curriculum). So I thought everything was going good; about 6 weeks before school starts, I received all the 1st grade materials and schedule. However about 2 days before school starts I received in the mail , a box of Kindergarten materials. And a new schedule for kindergarten. No explanation, no phone call nothing. When trying to get in touch with someone you would get caught in phone tree hell where you can't get in touch with a live person without great frustration and time. Eventually with many phone calls and emails I get an answer that we have to have her tested which took 4 weeks to get someone to meet me at a local library to test my daughter to prove she could go to 1 st grade. Then it took another 2 weeks to make their decision if she can go 1 st grade. In the meantime she was doing Kindergarten work. Finally they make their decision that she was indeed ready for 1st grade. Which unfortunately made my daughter anxious to have to switch to a new class 6 weeks into school. I don't understand why this all of this could not have been done before school starts. This was very stressful for everyone which could have been prevented with a proper organization. Not to mention why didn't anyone discuss this with us. I am very disappointed that just many other public schools they forget to communicate with parents effectively . This was only one of my 3 kids I enrolled. I also had a similar issue with my high schooler it literally took me the entire semester to get her out of delayed classes something that should not take nearly that long. Again why couldn't they communicate with me that they were placing her in delayed classes because of IAP she had when she was in 1st grade public school. When I decided to pull her out of public school we corrected a lot with of her reading issues. But no communication came from WIVA that they were going to place her in delayed classes. We found that out on day 1 of school.
Sorry WIVA you can do better about this. It's almost like they literally don't look at this until the week school starts. It really is an awful onboarding experience.

This is a great company but the internet goes out sometime s.

Teachers allow students to chat in an instant messenger type setting instead of kids paying attention to class, they also allow kids to keep their cameras off during a class setting. Then they constantly send mass emails complaining about kids grades plummeting. Quit letting them talk in class!

I have had nothing but great experiences when it came to dealing with technical support or counseling

I like how they restructured the learning groups and put kids who learn in a similar way together and the teacher will customize the lesson based on that.

Staff is great, communication is good, my child loves his teachers and classes without the stress of being bullied, teased, or judged. Just all-in-all the best experience.

THIS SCHOOL HELP MY DAUGHTER OUT A LOT.. GREAT SCHOOL ALL ROUND

When you try to contact the office, a counselor, a principal or a teacher you can never get through. You are always rerouted to the wrong person or you get no answer at all. If you are lucky to get an answering machine, no one that can help you will ever call you back. It's nothing but a headache and I am so tired of it. You either get a good teacher or you get someone who doesn't care.

The majority of the teachers are great. The staff is very helpful and wonderful. This school really cares about the students, their progress and how they are doing. This is a great homeschool and I suggest it to others. Thank you for your kindness, patience and hard work!

It has been a horrible experience this year. The constant changes to the system through out the year has been hard to manage. The multiple outages have put us behind several times. The lack of communication from the teachers and not posting assigned work or assigning items we can not access has been very irritating. Not being able to access the online reading/ library was less than convenient. Don’t know why I am even giving you 2 stars.

Our experience has been truly better in the last 2 years with OVCA. Communication is key, the teachers, counselor, principal and administrator have all been fantastic! Thank you for caring and striving Paige to be her best.

Location was perfect and the staff was phenomenal.

The new platform has been full of issues. Unable to log in, website is not loading, class sessions aren't loading. Send request to get let in and it times out and says it's for teachers only. I have 2 students, highschool and elementary. The elementary staff do not answer emails, not even an acknowledgement when I try to communicate that my student is having technical issues so I stopped sending them. I understand it is a new platform but it is full of issues and the teachers were not properly trained on it. Its hard to keep up with what is needed in some classes because the class connects keep getting moved or dropped, at the last minute. Assignments added late. This has been the absolute worst year and I've been with the school for quite some time.

What made my experience great is getting resolutions in a timely matter. The teacher having patience and being cooperative with the srudents and parents is awesome, also get responses immediately from tech support amongst other things. The teachers have no problem helping with what ever problem it may be and getting it resolved quickly. Thank you for all you do! Thank you 😊

The care that is delivered and displayed they staff goes above and beyond to make sure the students are well cared for academically.
