After filling out the long intake forms, I was given an appointmemt for roughly two weeks away. I thought that was pretty great turn around timing and was super excited. Then three days later, after I had already secured an appointment, I was emailed and told that they actually can't treat my conditions because "they don't have specialists in those areas". I was trying to get help with depression and anxiety, two of the most common mental illness struggles there are. I really wish they would have told me up front that they wouldn't treat me instead of giving me false hope and an appointment and then later canceling it on me. A lot of their policies feel really abelist and odd to me.

I signed up for an appointment because one of my previous psychiatrists joined the site. I went through the full account setup, tested to make sure everything was working ahead of time, but when I went to log in for my appointment the site kept sending me back to the login form no matter what I tried.

When I finally made it into the site (had to go to the booking page which had a cached login, log out, then log in again) and opened my appointment, no one was there. I was changed $300 for an appointment I never had, when I was told it would only be a $25 copay through insurance.

No one answered the phone number listed on their website, or the text help line, or via their email support.

I really felt cared for and supported during my time with my Lavender provider. Plus booking online and having video sessions were way more convenient for my lifestyle. I found when I was doing in person sessions I would end up canceling because the commute, parking situation and waiting room was just too much to be bothered with. This made it seamless and I could focus on what I wanted to talk about.

Service is amazing, staff is super friendly and helpful. Being able to get mental healthcare from the comfort of my own home is great.

I've been seeing lavender for a few months now and my experience has been very bad and I'm switching providers. Firstly the practitioner I was seeing was not very professional. At one point I took an assessment for a condition and the next time we met to go over the results she "joked" that I was not positive for the condition and then revealed it was a big goof and I actually was positive for the condition. SO FUNNY RIGHT?

Beyond just the provider, the administration supporting the provider was very poor. I was prescribed a medication that is currently in short supply and when I went to fill my prescription I was told by the pharmacy I would not be able to get the prescription filled for 3 months. I went to Lavender and they told me I would have to schedule a new appointment which makes sense. But then the pharmacy called 40 house before my appointment and they were able to get the prescription filled, Hurray! I contact the administration, they say you are in the 48 hour period either you go through with the appointment or we charge you $140 for no showing on the session. I ask for a bit of leniency were circumstances that were out of my control and I did the best I could. They tell me "too bad" and just bill me $140. Within this whole ordeal, they also lost my insurance information which led to this confusing set of emails where they told me they aren't willing to see un-insured people (I've been insured through the entirety of our relationship) and just honestly felt like they wanted my money and not to help me.

There are tons of other options and providers out there. Just stay away from this provider.

Lavender Psychiatry should really do some pre-screening. They booked me for an appointment, I filled out a very long intake form full of personal information (including financial) and was told they couldn't work with me because I had a concussion 11 years ago. They also will not work with anyone who even might be autistic. There's some weird ableism there and also no respect for client time, energy, and the difficulty of disclosure.

If you're currently experiencing suicidal thoughts, apparently that's grounds for rejection. They booked my appointment, went through all the steps with insurance, and then suddenly cancelled it and told me that I'd be better off finding support elsewhere, just because I listed that I've been having suicidal thoughts in my intake form. Seemed to completely ignore that I have a therapist already and I was just coming here for medication management, not for therapy. Gave me a list of two other recommended providers - one of which wasn't even another psychiatrist, but was a therapist group.

Might be a good practice if you can actually get in and if you're not experiencing severe mental health issues (seems pretty counterintuitive for a psychiatrist office though!). Feels like their policy encourages you to downplay your symptoms. Kind of ridiculous that they'd book your appointment before reviewing your intake form, anyways.

I was denied care for the sole reason that I’ve been prescribed suboxone. It’s pretty apparent that I’m still paying for mistakes I made years ago. I wasn’t expecting to be prescribed suboxone through lavender, I just wanted help with my other issues. Complete waste of time really.

AVOID- PHIL SHOULD NOT HAVE A LICENCE. Would honestly avoid this therapist (Phil) at all costs. Had a session with him via zoom and he told me, within 5 minutes and without the use of any diagnostic tool (thereby violating psychological practice procedures) that I do not have the disorder I am formally diagnosed with. This was extremely invalidating and led to a dramatic decline in my well-being and significant worsening of symptoms. Following this session I had an appointment with a qualified Psychologist whom I informed of my experience. She deemed Phil as dangerous as he was violating a multitude of ethical guidelines and operating procedures and should not have a licence to practice. I never thought I would leave therapy in a psychologically worse state than when I entered it, but this experience really shows how careful you have to be when selecting a therapist. Phil also appears to misunderstand mental health, claiming that he can ‘fix you’ within one session. After speaking to a vast number of therapists and learning about psychotherapy and counselling in my Psychology degree, I know this is absurd, reductionist and demonstrates a lack of comprehension of the complexity of mental illnesses. Phil frequently also tries to enter business ventures, including bitcoin, with clients which is a clear breach of professionalism and the boundaries of the client-therapist relationship. I am not the only one with these experiences, as I personally know multiple people and previous clients who have shared similar stories. Just to reiterate- AVOID. There are so many genuine and qualified therapists who will genuinely support you in a professional therapeutic relationship.

Accessible, helpful, life-changing…

I had an awful experience. They cancelled my initial appointment with little notice or explanation. They were incredibly pushy about having me fill out the intake form a full 12 days before the appointment. Sometimes people are busy! The customer service rep said I hung up on her, which is why the appointment was cancelled a second time. I didn’t hang up on anyone! When I did fill out the intake form (which is lengthy and requires I provide payment info too) they denied to see me without explanation as to why. Everytime I’ve called the customer service line it was busy. Still haven’t heard back. Total waste of time for an exercise that is already difficult to go through.

I'm happy with Lavender. Grace listens to you and she loves helping people.

Very kind and affordable. My provider, Melissa is so caring and I like that I can get my meds and therapy in one visit with one person. Highly recommend!

I am going through a lot of betrayal from my family ... I am going up against my daughter this week in a trial because my almost 20 year old daughter went out of network on her medical expenses... Sheena has been great with giving me coping mechanisms and taking each day as a brand new one!
I just love her positivity and her personality is just refreshing !

I found my amazing therapist through Lavender. I have been in therapy for many years now and have not felt so well matched before. The concierge team is always helpful and great at following up. Good for common meds' reconsideration and prescribing, and for a light talk. Keep the deep stuff and big life changes and processes to someone more experienced in psychotherapy and specialized in your issues.
