Another shocking experience from Ian Williams.. cancelled appointments. Lies as to reasons why .

Replaced my mother in laws door recently, the young lad fitted it completely incorrectly, frames on the p*ss, then told her to close it she needs to physically lift the door up.. embarrassing.. freedom of information requested their council tender because this can't carry on and I'll happily make sure no other elderly ladies have to have such a shocking service from a terrible company

Awful is an understatement. I have no words to describe how disrespectful & useless these people are.

They sent an old man (that is well over retirement age) to repair a kitchen fan. He has been here more than 9 times now and on each occasion he’s removed the fan, measured and said I don’t have one that fits, fkd off, returned three or four weeks later and repeated everything. This has gone on for 6 months+

Each time he’s acted as if he’s never been here before. He never cleans up after himself either & Smells like he needs to change his incontinence pad. On one occasion my partner had to go up the ladder and finish fitting a smoke alarm as he couldn’t do it.

Stonewater have been ordered by environmental health to complete a number of repairs by a certain time. They haven’t and the repairs are still outstanding. They just keep booking it in with Ian Williams knowing full well it won’t get done. They’ve ignore all my complaints regarding them. All out of spite, so I can’t take further action.
They belittle and stigmatise people and think they can get away with it “just because we’re social housing tenants”

Ive now cancelled all appointments that have been made and will not allow Ian Williams into my flat as I cannot afford to keep taking time off to wait around on these incompetent morons & I’m sick of having to clean up after them!

They also burnt my carpet in the hallway. They painted an old front door, instead of waiting for each coat to dry, he plugged a convector heater into my electric (without asking) to attempt to dry the paint. The heater caught fire and burned my carpet. Did they pay for the damage? No they fkng didn’t.

They was told to “replaster” a wall. The job description was to hack off blown plaster and replace with new plaster. Simple instructions no?
He went straight over the blown plaster and half way up the wall. Left it like that and said that’s all he’s doing. Never returned to prime it or paint it.

They removed all the upstairs heaters (I have a child) and left us with no heating source for almost a year! It’s always colder inside this flat than outside in the winter. So imagine having no heating.

Ive had no option but to involve a solicitor. I’m not spending anymore of my own money on this dump. I’ve spent well over £8000 on this flat during my 6 year tenancy - fixing stuff they refuse to fix, replacing heaters that they removed and didn’t replace, having to keep replacing furniture and clothes due to mold & damp, flooring that had to be replaced due to leaks and rotten subfloor etc. I wish I’d saved that as by now I probably would have had enough for a deposit on my own place.

Never turn up and even if they do they scratch their heads then go get "materials" and never show up again..

Honestly how this company is even legally allowed to operate is beyond me.

A employee named Spencer called on a Sunday . He immediately discovered the problem and tried to help as much as possible . He was kind and very reassuring and even rang back to make sure all was ok . This was Reading Rg30 south east ares

Work gets set and booked in for a day job but they turn up in the afternoon then won't do the work as the job will take to long!
Lost count of all the cancelled, failed and incomplete jobs that they have to do. Including one that's over 6 months old!
Don't think anyone actually talks to each other and are about as useful as a waterproof tea bag!
I've written complaints formally but that's another dead end, nothing changes!
I'd be horrified and totally embarrassed if I owned or managed this company!

3 times in a row they have not shown up. Promised a job to be done today. Arrival time was between 8 and 1.... No one has shown and yet again I have now lost a days work. Shambolic company!

This company has cancelled my work 6 times looking at the reviews this company should be ashamed of all the bad reviews that is if they ever read them and judging by the constent 1 stars it's obvious they do not

Absolutely the worst contractors ever to exist! When they ACTUALLY turn up. Also THEY LIE! Trying to say I threatened him? Complete lie, telling someone to leave, is not a threat. What u expect? Came, measured window, waited for it to be made,cut, etc.. then turns up to do the job, then actually says..after weeks of waiting, oh I ain't got the window?! Then I got a reply, "people like you should be grateful! Sick of this company doing things like that. Not the first time neither.. simply every job is hit and miss every time. And they have reported job completed, when they didn't even turn up man! Absolutely the worst. I could go on but ya know what I mean if u have to use them. Still waiting for a call to fix the repairs.

Came out to replace a tap and caused a leak that damaged my carpet and downstairs toilet, rang up to be told I need to claim on my house insurance!
Don’t think so!!!

The worst company I've ever known, why hasn't the council removed their contract?

Incompetent work force and managers. Swearing, rude, excuses, lies, false promises, shoddy work, turning up unannounced, skiving in vans, parts constantly breaking and needing fixing, no respect to anyone, leaves the mess for you to clean up, unprofessional, the last goes on...
Avoid avoid avoid !!

Still two years later my kitchen is not finished, had a tiller here whi looked 100 yrs old and he tilled like one to, absolutely shocking Stonewater kick these cowboys in to touch

Never stick to appointment times, sends messages to change dates and times nearing the appointment and still dont turn up. Have had leaking taps for weeks now didn't come today on my appointment time so called them and was told they have rescheduled for two weeks time 😂😂 company is a joke.

This company constantly lies about deadlines. Staff non stop swear when eventually turn up at the job though they do spend majority of their time in their cars or vans. Rather than doing any work. Just so they can get more of our tax money by prolonging the jobs. Council tennants are treated like dirt on the bottom of Thier shoes. You would have fought with all the complaints Wiltshire council would have given this contract to someone else by how

Poor customer service nor got a clue what doing when fixing a repair I had 4 people up didn't fix the issue their carpenters but think carry tools to unblock a leak. Each time come no tools gone ages waste most the day. I'm still waiting 7 months fix leak in my shower

worked 2 days for this guys and they didnt pay me ...No wonder that the quality of theyr job is rubbish

Totally useless and a waste of time company.
Why do Anchor employ this company as contractors ?
They turn up unannounced time after time when they are supposed to contact you beforehand to make sure that you are at home; turning up on the wrong date; leaving a note through the letterbox and returning to the office and cancelling the job because you weren’t in.
So far it has taken 8 weeks to replace a security light at the back of our property which was ordered on 8th March 2024, and still hasn’t been replaced !!
We’ve got a conundrum for you:- Can anybody guess how many electricians it took ( including a Supervisor ) and not counting how many weeks, to replace a double socket in our kitchen that kept falling off the wall ? The answer is 5 and they still managed to do a botched up job because the socket is warped and not even straight which isn’t surprising because they drilled so many holes that there was nowhere left to drill. We, as the resident had to supply the screws as they’d didn’t have screws long enough to retain the socket in place.

Absolutely dreadful, waiting for a safety critical issue to be repaired and after waiting for the arranged visit, I received a message after 5:00pm (too late for an irate phone call!!!!) stating they have rearranged the visit for another 3 weeks.
Their abysmal reputation is the ONLY thing this company deserves!!!
They should be out of business!

If I could leave a zero I would. Stonewater use them and as a tenant have to put up with these bunch of clowns on day release from Billy Smarts. 6 weeks now with non functioning kitchen due to “multi tradesman” being absolutely useless. Tiling awful, live wires left, can’t cut basic straight lines. No respect for anyone’s property, rude, the list is endless. I refuse to accept their horrendous work and I feel as tenants we pay our rent and should be entitled to a decent level of quality . I actually feel I could have fitted a kitchen better and neater than them just by watching a YouTube video.
