Hug Pet Food Omdömen 

Our cats are seriously struggling with the rebranded ‘teds bowl beef’. It’s totally different. It’s much tougher, so bloody and smells bad. They loved the original Hug beef but the company has gone the same way as Katkin, ruining their product whilst pretending it’s just a packaging and branding change. Why is it so hard to get consistent quality in meat for our pets. We are now exploring alternatives.

Purchased Hugs Pet Food for a couple of years. The service has always been good and initially great food for my springer.
Sadly, the quality of the food has declined hugely since late last year, and they have now rebranded to Ted’s Bowl.
We have decided that we cannot keep giving this food to our Springer and have cancelled our subscription.
No apology for the decline in quality, Ted’s Bowl were quite happy to cancel the subscription, which to me indicates a problem with their product 🤔

was ok for some time but I'm so unhappy with it since it became Teds Bowl. Its like soup after cooking as there's so much water and an unbelievable amount of fat in the beef and sweet potato. I will certainly not be reordering

After over 2 years of ordered this food, sadly it’s not the company it was. No correspondence, numerous emails ignored and always out of stock of most of the senior range. No explanation of the change in the food consistency , company re packaging or name change. Time to look elsewhere.. 😔

I have been a customer for over 2 years and they changed the recipe of my normal dog food without any notice. It arrived and looked nothing like beef (and sweet potato)-very pale in colour and my dog, who has IBD, refused to eat it. I have tried to contact the company via email and phone on several occasions without luck. The phone got answered once and I was told they were short staffed due to sickness but nobody has responded since. I have a month’s supply of food I don’t want. The customer service is dreadful and if I could have given one star, I would.

Having used Hug and liked their cat food for many months, we noticed an increasing decline in the quality of the lamb for cats. 40 seconds in the microwave and it is swimming in fat and like pink slime. No meat texture at all. I raised this by email in December and was told no one else has reported this issue. Yet reading through the trust pilot reviews that it clearly untrue.
Over the past few days I have repeatedly left voicemails, emails and messages on social media pleading for someone to help change my imminent next order to stop any lamb being delivered. Yet they have ignored every single communication from me.
This is so stressful and disempowering. One of my cats vomits when she eats the lamb now and has started to completely refuse it.

Hug had such a great product and ethic but their disregard for their customers and ignorance to quality issues means I would never recommend them now.

Our one-year-old Yorkiepoo was such a fussy eater. She’d suspiciously circle her bowl for minutes as if it contained an unexplored bomb before finally nibbling her way through its contents. And then, hooray!, Hug came into her life. No more hesitation. She now eats with gusto. Hug a real game changer. Can’t recommend it more highly than that.

Our dogs, a wire-haired dachs. and Italian spinone, simply love this food. Highly recommend. Excellent ingredients and the cookable product smells simply delicious! Easy ordering, good delivery and great recycling for packaging too.

Clearly delicious as our normally fussy hound devoured in seconds! Hug is the only brand which we can feed her any flavour without causing stomach issues.

My fussy dogs love this food! They seem much happier and healthier for it as well. The portion calculator on their website is also really handy for working out how much to order.

Love these products, it gives our pets a good variety (which is not what they are used to!) and they love all the flavours offered. An all round good purchase & we will be continuing to buy. :)

We have been through a few different brands with my labrador and she absolutely loves Hug! Definately one I would recommend to friends

just started my border terrier on their senior range, as he has gotten pickier with his food as he has gotten older. He absolutely loves it, it's been the first product in while that he has enjoyed. the website is clear, delivery was really quick, couldn't fault the service. will definitely be ordering again.

I switched my cat Mochi over to Hug Pet Food's 'Just Beef' when she was a kitten and now she's onto their 'Just Lamb'. It's great stuff. It's made with care and from sources that do right by animals – that matters to me a lot..

If you're looking for good cat food that's made the right way, give Hug Pet Food a try. Mochi and I are glad we did!

I’ve been buying hug senior dog food for about 18 months and agree with others that recently it is not what it was. It used to be great but now the percentage of meat is less, it looks grey and they have changed the delivery company so now instead of arriving within a couple of days of ordering, I can only request it to arrive after about 4 / 5 days and then it’s not frozen when it arrives. It’s been sat in some warehouse presumably waiting to be delivered. So I’m re freezing. Will be looking elsewhere. This month there is a big discount so I’m presuming the company isn’t doing so well?

Your customer service is 5 Star. I have used your food for the start it was very good quality but it seems to have gone downhill since the changes. Please please can we have the old hug back even if it costs more yours Eric of Salisbury

Incredible product that helped to keep our dogs well nourished before and after having puppies! Would recommend them to any dog owner to buy and will continue to get them for our dogs for years to come!

Our 3 year old cockapoo cannot get enough of the adult dog range. Venison seems to be a favourite, but I assume all dogs will be a bit picky!! We've recently moved across to Hug in the last few months and are really happy with the service and quality of the meals....as is Ted!! Highly recommended.

Excellent service. Delivered on time with no hassle. My dog is usually a picky eater, but absolutely loves this food. Will definitely be placing another order.

Agree with other reviewers that the food has changed and not for the better - my cat used to love her meals from Hug which I had been buying for over a year. Since the production of the meals changed a couple of months ago she now refuses to eat them.
