H.Samuel - Preston Omdömen 

Purchased a 3 stone topaz white gold ring in July. October 3 stone fell out so took it back to the shop for repair as had taken the insurance. Today 27 November they still have it. I WILL NOT BE BUYING FROM THEM AGAIN. At this rate they will have had the ring longer than me. Angry is an understatement.

I’m honestly shocked and disappointed with H Samuel. My partners platinum Forever ring started to bend leading to a diamond falling out after just 5 weeks of normal wear. Yes a ring called forever lasted less than 5 weeks...

The store sent the ring off for an inspection which took 3 weeks, they gave me no report, no photos, no evidence just blame that the ring was damaged. They said the diamond was pulled.. how pulling on diamond could mishape a platinum ring is beyond me it's clearly a defect. Instead of offering a replacement they tried to charge me nearly £400 to fix it! I emailed customer service several times and they didn’t even bother logging my complaint.

My partner and I have our engagement party this week with no ring.

The whole experience has been awful. I wouldn’t recommend this store to anyone. Avoid yourself the disappointment and upset.

I bought a necklace, watch and earrings set for my wife as part of her Christmas present late last year. Unfortunately, within a few weeks of buying the set, the watch stopped working. I took the watch back where the battery was changed only for it to stop again a few days later. I took the watch back for a second time where it was promptly replaced. However, fast forward to 8 months after the purchase and the silver necklace has started to turn pink and is clearly tarnished and can no longer be worn.

My wife has just been to return it to the shop where she has been advised that as the jewellery set is Sekonda it must be returned to them whereby they will likely advise that it is due to my wife’s skin?!?!? It is likely therefore that we will need to pay to replace the necklace pendant meaning that we will be further out of pocket.

My wife is pretty upset about this as not a single one of her other silver necklaces have done this in the near 30 years she has been wearing silver necklaces. So essentially, it cannot be returned even though it has tarnished after only 8 months of occasional wear.

It is pretty certain that I won’t go back to H Samuel again. Very unhappy that there appears to be no acceptable corrective action possible a mere 8 months after the original purchase.

Coming from the US and looking for loop earrings, having lost mine on the plane, I needed a replacement. After seeing the Preston H Samuel store numerous times traveling to and from the University, I made a quick phone call and later that day, Nick (the manager) guided me through my first purchase of what will undoubtedly be many Preston, H Samuel jewellery purchases...

No confirmation of my order. Feeling very let down. Helpline no use and very confrontational. Tried helpline again. very good agent and helped me straight away. I guess it depends on who you talk to.....

EDIT , RECENTLY A LOVELY MAN THAT WORKS THERE PHONED ME AND SAID IT WAS WRONG HOW I HAD BEEN TREATED AND A NEW RING SHOULD HAVE BEEN SENT OUT , WHICH HE PROMPTLY SORTED AND HAD POSTED TO ME , ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT CAN'T THANK HIM ENOUGH ,IM SORRY I DON'T REMEMBER HIS NAME BUT I DID MENTION HIM ON H SAMUEL OWN REVIEW PAGE .
husband bought me an eternity ring for xmas, after 3 months the topaz fell out , the nice man i delt with in the preston shop was lovely and had a new ring sent out , the second ring , from the same batch, the same thing happened after 2 weeks, the topaz fell out , the lady i delt with second time at preston sent it off with a 20 min lecture about me having to pay if the said it was accidental damaged, just had a phone call, they will not replace it and the cost will be £120 to replace stone , i said just send it back without repair, this is obviously a faulty batch , 2 separate rings , the same problem, its an eternity ring , no use if you can't wear it , i only tap a screen at work , im not a builder, terrible, will never buy from here again!!!

My husband purchased a diamond dress ring for me under two years ago and I’ve worn it a handful of times. A couple of weeks ago I discovered the large diamond in the middle had come out! I returned it to the Preston store of which it was then send away now been advised it was accidental damage?? I wear three rings of which have diamonds in and wearing them for the past 25years no diamonds have ever dropped out. Been told the cost to replace the diamond is more that what was paid for the ring. I wouldn’t replace as would be worried to wear the ring again. Absolutely disgusting

Excellent customer service from the shop in Preston. I bought the Edifice Casio Honda Racing Limited Edition watch which came in a wonderful red presentation box. The gentleman who served me was extremely knowledgeable and very helpful.
