Avoid "How to Drive" – Unprofessional and Unreliable
I usually don’t leave reviews, but after reaching out to "How to Drive" with a formal complaint, they completely dismissed my concerns without acknowledging how their instructor’s actions impacted me. I have all the evidence to prove I was accommodating and respectful throughout my lessons, yet I was treated unfairly.
I took an intensive course with Ivan, who constantly changed my schedule due to his school activities. I adjusted to every request, including allowing his friend to take me for my test on March 3, 2025, since he was unavailable. When DVSA canceled my test that day, I immediately informed him and his friend who acknowledged it was no issue. Ivan didn’t suggest me using those hrs for practice . I also booked extra lessons, and kept him updated on my rescheduled test.
On the morning of my test (March 25, 2025), Ivan suddenly demanded an £80 payment—something he had never mentioned before. I was never unwilling to pay, only explained he could have managed my expectations better.”as I wasn’t aware of the new fee and we had seen prior to that day. Instead of handling the situation professionally, he told me to leave his car just an hour before my test, leaving me emotional and in tears. He knew my theory test was expiring on April 1, 2025, yet he showed no regard for the impact of his
actions.
No learner should have to experience this on such an important day. The company did nothing to address the issue, so I’m leaving this review to warn others—do not trust How to Drive with your driving journey.
