Postage deductions
I ordered some Breeze GTX boots as I had a pair in the past and was happy with them. The style has changed and the fit was not good with the
new ones, so I returned. I have decided to no longer buy shoes from Hotter as it is an expensive way to try on shoes. You have to cover all postage cost, sending to you £4.50 and return £2. 95 so £7. 45 was deducted from my return.

Handed employee 2 shoes and asked for one in standard and one in wide - told that was too many shoes for her to bring out at once!!! Given 2 stars as other employee was helping another customer - 5 pairs out at once. On looking at other reviews the person we had has been having bad reviews for over 2 years - rude and awful attitude and 100% unhelpful - went to Skechers and got all 3 pairs I needed. Will not support awful customer service
Don't Sign Anything! They Will Spam You Forever
This is a heads up for anyone considering using HOTTERS. My wife bought a pair of shoes. They were OK for a few weeks but began to pinch but given they didn’t cost a fortune, she put up with them before calling it a day and throwing them into the bin. She just put it down to a bad decision, but ever since that day – in 2023 – she began to receive junk mail through the post from the company. At first it was thrown in the bin as well, but as it began to arrive more regularly, I asked the company to stop sending it. Below is a brief summary of the exchange of notes between us since my first request to them just over a year ago. I wrote to them every time I got a catalogue through the door.

Another catalogue arrived today – but there seems little point in writing to their customer services address shown above as they seem to ignore things – that’s why I thought I would write a review warning people of the dangers of signing anything with this company.

Zero stars. I have just had an an extremely unhelpful call to Hotter Customer Service. I ordered 2 pairs of shoes for a holiday - in different sizes to check fit. They were ordered well in time, company policy stating “after placing an order items in stock will be delivered within 2-4 days” I was advised they were despatched 3 days later but the shoes didn’t arrive until 10 DAYS after the order date, and I had just left home. On returning two months later, I immediately sent one pair of shoes back with a note explaining the late return. HOTTER SENT THE SHOES BACK, with a letter saying it was company policy not to accept returns after 30 days. My phone call to them today resulted in the agent constantly repeating the 30 days company policy to me. I did hope they might accept responsibility due to a late delivery - but alas no. NOT IMPRESSED WITH HOTTER’s “CUSTOMER CARE”.
Really poor strap design
Really poor design of strap. Dock II, Dark Brown, Standard Fit, size 12. I loved these sandals, and they fit... except the strap is so short you can't actually close it. It's the only reason I'm returning them.

Hotter started sending me their paper catalog unsolicited with no easy way to end it. Make it stop.
Faulty shoes, late delivery
Bought lark ballerina shoes. Delivery not attempted with Royal Mail, contacted Hotter as order was late , hotter refused repeatedly to refund delivery charges for overinflated delivery. Then the shoes- one much wider than another, looks like it has ben put on the shoe stretcher or something- substandard is an understatement- never again even if their shoes would cost a penny.
Awful - foreign call centres
Awful. They use South African call centres who can't spell names, email addresses or follow simple instructions such as "don't send my parcel via Evri, send it via Royal Mail please". Predictably, Evri have "lost" the parcel.
Quality is better
Quality is better. But Prices is High . very fast service.
Returns rip off
I ordered some Sandals using a first order discount code. Sadly they did not fit so I returned them fully aware that a fee of £2.95 would be applied for the return postage.
However they have taken the discount that was applied to my order off my refund so I will be £7.70 out of pocket for ordering the shoes. I have not benefitted from the discount as I am not keeping the shoes so shouldn't have to pay it.
According to the government website, as i returned my order in full no minimum spend is applicable and they cannot legally deduct this amount from my refund.
They cannot just deduct the full price cost of the shoes from my refund, only what i paid.
This is very underhand and not legal. This is nowhere in their terms and conditions in the returns section.
I wont buy from this company now out of principle and would urge others not to.
Next Day Delivery!!
Placed an order and paid for next day delivery. Was informed after waiting in all day that they would not be arriving and couldn't promise the next day either. Called Customer services who clearly didn't care and had a perfunctory apology. Asked a for a delivery charge refund, upon doing so I then got told it would now be 3 to 5 working days for delivery!!!! I cancelled my order and now find out its going to take 14 working days to get a refund!! Dreadful company!

I bought hotter stability Haze gtx shoes , recommended by my podiatrist. The workmanship was very bad . The left heel had a nick in it and the stitching on all four sides ( each shoes) was not overseen . I sent them back got a refund . Because they were comfortable and just what I wanted I ordered the same again and asked for them not to be faulty .
New ones arrived and were even worse , in all the same areas . The nick in the left heel even had a stitch in it .
If I can manage it I’ll include photos .
Very disappointed for a brand that is usually good . Stop sending out substandard goods .

Have about 30 pairs of Hotter and was very shocked to find the foam rubber soles on one pair has disintegrated. Apparently it's called hydrolysis. I just hope it doesn't happen to all the others.
Above and beyond
Lyn, the assistant at the Witney store, went above and beyond.
She spent over an hour helping my elderly mother, who has been unable to find decent shoes for years due to a foot deformity and arthritis. Lyn was caring and compassionate, carefully checking the fit of every shoe. She was so lovely and patient with my mum, speaking calmly and appropriately as mum is disabled.

I purchased product Code 045 Cosmos French Navy trainers on 20th March have worn twice and have blistered bleeding heels on both occasions. Hoping they will soften but am doubtful.
Also I have a high instep and find the laces too short.

The shop was good but I brought a pair of shoes while I was away for a few days. When I got home I realised I have the same pair.I rang Hotter to see if I could return by post and was told No I have to take them back to the shop. My nearest shop is over 40 miles away.
This is a ridiculous returns policy.
Highly frustrating customer services
Nice looking shoes but arrived damaged (they were in the sale but there was no mention that there would be damage).
The next pair also arrived damaged.
I sent photos and called customer services to try to resolve.
Not impressed with me being expected to find and go to a post office during work hours (putting me in a really difficult position with work) to send the items back when none of it was my fault yet I'm being put out. I ordered online for ease, now I've had to use emails, phone calls and travel to the post office, purchase parcel tape, queue, and return the shoes. Would have been happy to have had a partial refund and kept the boots as I could deal with the damage, but was told this wasn't an option. Reluctant to get another exchange in case of a third pair arriving damaged, or the sale style being out of stock for my size. Highly frustrates
All good with Hotter
I have always had a pleasant shopping experience with Hotter. I recently bought two pairs of shoes off a sale. Delivery was prompt and everything arrived in good order. The quality of Hotter shoes is excellent, they are very comfortable and last very long. I would definitely recommend this brand and buy again.
Self-destructing soles!
Having purchased many pairs of Hotter shoes over time, I am extremely disappointed to discover the soles of a slightly worn pair are self-destructing in the shoe box. Apparently this has been an industry problem (Shuropody provided replacements without quibble) but Hotter has new owners, and decline assist. No more Hotter for me.
