Beautifully traditional small hotel. Just what you would want. Charming staff, discreet and welcoming. The room was lovely. Proper personal coffee service at breakfast, no horrible coffee machine!!

Unable to book rooms. The hotel’s website is down for bookings beyond June 2024 with dates for repairs to the website continually being extended. Not good!!

We have stayed here before this is probably the 6 or 7th time. Location is perfect you can walk to all the major sights. Lots of local non tourist type restaurants as well as those catering to tourist.

Rome's Little Gem
The Hotel Portoghesi is a lovely little gem set in a neighborhood of cozy shops and restaurants, then polished to a high gleam by its attentive staff (notably Giuseppe and David at the front desk, and the always-smiling Vincenza serving an array of breakfast options each morning on the top floor). All-in-all, The Hotel Portoghesi offers comfortable lodging with a personal touch that larger, swankier hotels can't match.

Nice rooftop breakfast terrace. Very comfortable accomodations. I look forward to returning.

We are so happy that you loved staying in our Hotel. It is true that our location is so central that getting to the famous sights and availing yourself of everything the center has to offer such as fine restaurants, casual dining and pizzerias, cafes, gelaterias and fabulous shopping are all nearby. The Pantheon, Piazza Navona,
Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain are just a 5-10 minute walk while the Vatican and Colosseum are a 15-20 minute walk.
Also, a big pleasure to read that you enjoyed so much the buffet breakfast and our Staff

Trasferta professionale
Hotel di eleganza un po' troppo retrò, ubicato in posizione centralissima e vicinissimo a Piazza Cavour (dove ero impegnato professionalmente). Ottimo e puntuale servizio di portierato notturno (sono arrivato molto tardi per treno tardivo e infinita coda per il taxi). Camera accogliente, ma dotata di aria condizionata ingovernabile. Bagno pulito ed efficiente, ma senza bidet (in altri alberghi romani si trova il sanitario promiscuo). Bella sala colazione , con vista sui tetti antichi circostanti. Completo e di buona qualità il buffet Gentilissimo, empatico e professionale il personale.
Prezzo un po' troppo elevato.

ottima posizione, pulizia, gentilezza e disponibilità. Buona colazione in una caratteristica terrazza romana. Peccato che il menù caffè era di scarsa qualità sia espresso che americano.

la ringraziamo per aver trovato il tempo di lasciare una recensione circa il suo soggiorno presso il nostro Hotel, ci dispiace infinitamente che il nostro caffè non sia stato di suo gusto, per quanto concerne l'espresso utilizziamo una miscela arabica che viene prodotta solo per noi da una torrefazione artigianale mentre per l'americano una miscela proveniente direttamente dal brasile e, le garantisco, che abbiamo sempre riscontrato ottimi risultati circa le due miscele comunque, faremo tesoro della sua critica.
