Visited the Hillside stand at the NEC motorhome and caravan show. Great experience with the sales team who were very knowledgeable. They build a great campervan at a very competitive price.

Unfortunately we have had nothing but trouble! 2 trips back to have issues rectified and we are still having issues. Holes in floor letting water in, corrosion of 230v connections inside the van. Generally the build quality is poor especially if you look under the van or behind panels! Poor insulation and final fitting.
To respond to the reply from Hillside, that is correct we have not returned. We have already had to return twice, where on the last occasion we stayed locally, to then be told the day before the van was to be collected it would be the next week before it was ready. After driving home 430 miles the next day they phone that day and said it was ready. We then had to drive down the next day to collect! The communication from them was shocking. 860 miles over 2 days for no reason. This is why I stay away from Hillside. They told me my van was never right from day one! At no point have they ever apologised or taken responsibility. £80k+ with poor quality control. My van is Proof!

After spending a lot of time researching camper vans and deciding on a VW conversion we recently visited Hillside Leisure to look at their new Transporter conversions.
Thomas and the team were so welcoming, helpful and knowledgeable and there was no ‘hard sell’. They gave us plenty of time and made all the vans available for us to explore while answering all our practical questions and discussing options around the actual conversion, there was seemingly no detail too small that they weren’t happy to chat about- even options around stitching detail on leather seating!
We were able to test drive a similar van and take it for a reasonable distance.
The whole experience was excellent and we very much recommend Hillside Leisure for anyone interested in a camper. We can’t wait for conversion updates!

We took our Hopton to Hillside for it's first Habitation check. Was late as usual, but it was no drama for Kath and her team. Had some user problems sorted and was shown how to use things the correct way (usual bloke thing, not reading the instructions!!) All in all, a pleasant experience. Customer service at its best.

After purchasing a used T6.1 Birchover from Vw commercial in November, I contacted Hillside leisure and spoke to Kath who booked in my habitation check.
Upon arrival I was greeted by Vicky in reception who was extremely friendly and polite and made us hot drinks whilst we waited for Kath to Carry out initial checks, She was also very Friendly and knowledgeable about my campervan and some concerns that I had. The habitation check took three hours, to complete as advised.
Finally, Thomas gave me a complete new customer handover showing me everything I needed to know regarding the conversion which was very thorough and informative.
I would like to thank also Ellie in the Office who sorted out my transfer of warranty.
I left Hillside leisure feeling confident and assured that everything is as it should be, and there are still companies out there who give first class customer service.
Would definitely recommend Hillside leisure to anybody thinking of purchasing a campervan.

We took our Birchover Classic into Hillside on Wednesday to have its first habitation check. Not only did they check the usual gas / electric but gave the whole van a check over, plus sorted a couple of minor items that needed looking at. Would like to say thank you to Cath and the team that did the work as they were very helpful.

Kath and Tom and all the team bent over backwards to help repair our t6.1. Had an issue with the sliding doors. Went in one day fixed the next. Vw commercial couldn’t do anything till December!! Can’t thank them all enough. A credit to the industry.

Took our recently purchased Birchover Classic in today to have some minor items rectified. Great follow up support and all sorted. Many thanks to Cath and the team that did the work as we’re back on the road in no time at all.

We recently bought a Hillside Cromford privately via Autotrader and on a number of occasions have needed some advice with regards to how things work. HillsideLeisure have been very helpful eventhough we did not purchase the van from them and have always responded promptly. Its a great campervan and supported by a very helpful company.

We bought our Hillside Birchover in 2016. It’s been fabulous. We took it back to Hillside for its habitation check recently. The service we received was brilliant. Nothing is too much trouble. Claire was very helpful and friendly. It’s an endorsement to the great build that Hillside do that nothing major needed sorting at all. Thank you.

We had a habitation service and some niggly wear and tear issues done on 29 August. We arrived early but Kath was there already and helped us put our luggage in an empty van, nicely locked away. She estimated it would be done by lunchtime which it was. She answered all our queries and brought us up to date with Hillside developments. She gave us her undivided attention and the bill was reasonable without additions for the extras. A very positive experience certainly compared to the one time we have had it done locally to where we live. It is really worth the extra mileage to have the service done by those who built the van in the first place.

Had a tow bar fitted to our birch over executive spoke to Cath who was very helpful and gave us all the information we needed. Fast efficient service and reasonable priced for the job.

Cath was also very helpful with information before we purchased the camper.

Took our VW camper in for a habitation check and all went smoothly from start to finish. We had a few minor issues which were also dealt with . Very professional company .

We took our Hopton to Hillside today for some snagging jobs that the team did without question…. We have dealt with numerous van builders over the years and Hillside are the absolute best…
We arrived at 9am were greater by the friendly lady (sorry didn’t get her name) who looked after us… we went for breakfast and settled in for a long day of waiting (as we had to at other dealers ) yet in under two hours all jobs were done and we were on our way…
The after sales service has been second to none and the quality of the work is equally superb..

We managed to lose the waste water pipe on our 5-year old Hillside Birchover last weekend and are due to travel out to Belgium and the Netherlands next weekend. Huge thanks to the team at Hillside for squeezing us in and fixing it before our trip

When we bought our new camper van, we wanted to choose an approved VW Converter and Hillside was one of the few that have this accreditation. We visited the site at Derby and realised we that we could be in largely in control of the new base vehicle choice, configuration and colour schemes - this was ideal for us. Once we’d decided we were going to get a quality camper van from Hillside, the next thing was the importance of after sales support. This was our first van and we felt that we might have lots of basic questions and things that we needed help with. Three years on, we are very pleased with the van and the after sales support we’ve had and we are enjoying many trips away with the assurance that we have help if we need it.

Recently bought our first camper from Hillside. From meeting the team at the NEC through the build, delivery and some very minor snagging fixes the service has been faultless. The team obviously take great pride in their product and service.

I have had the VW Crafter Hopton from new and am coming up to a year of trouble free travel with many long trips in Europe covering 8k miles to date, as such I can highly recommend the quality of the conversion. Well done Hillside

Really great all round experience from ordering the van (Birchover Classic) at last year's Motorhome Show through selection of accessories & interior finishes to collection in June. We were updated throughout on progress with accompanying photos. Also great after sales support.

Excellent aftersales service from Cath at Hillside today. After I broke the fresh water tank drain tap she fitted us in for a repair within a couple of days. We were offered coffee whilst the repair was carried out and within a couple of hours we were on our way home. This is our second hillside van and both have been excellent.
